  1. Hey Gary, If you want to discuss how difficult I am, we will probably need another thread, lol. That has been well documented, just ask my wife about our move that was a total of three blocks. The point is that Rich was great to deal with and I would not hesitate to buy from him again. I was stressed and well over budget and Rich did his best to accomodate my needs.
  2. 2 grand for a pair of walnut Klipschorns seems fair. I have had a lot of luck lately with 'Wanted to Buy' adds on Audiogon. Typically, people looking to sell without the hassel of running an ad and dealing with lowball offers from buyers will check these listings first. I ran a WTB on Audiogon for Khorns and La Scalas. I bought a pait of '85 Khorns for $1650 in Oiled Oak in sweet shape and had an offer for $750 for La Scalas, but thet were too far from home to do it. FYI, I have had my Khorns for 4 days and they are worth any and all BS from your wife, I promise you.

  4. He has also given me countless tips on constructing my Home Theater to avoid any problems. Until then, I will be forced to listen to my new KHorns in 12 x 12 room. Dam.
  5. I bought a pair of Heresys from Rich and was great through the entire process. Rich went far out of his way to help me out by accepting payment and shipping one speaker to me and one to my buyer, which saved me some money. He was also very patient with me throughout the whole deal. Finally, I have never seen better packing, ever. He clearly wanted the speakers to arrive in excellent shape. In my buyers words: 'expertly packed'. Rich is an clearly an asset to the forum.
  6. Here is the lineup while I unpack: Tool-Undertow Gov't Mule-Dose Dylan-Hwy 61 Revisited SACD Cracker-The Golden Age Pavement-Slanted and Enchanted(Luxe and Reduxe)
  7. Dire Straits Live at the BBC on my recently acquired KHorns. Life is good.
  8. No rock collection is complete without The Who - Tommy, imo.
  9. Located in zip 45680 (South Point, Ohio) in the possession of forum contributor Thump. I have bought and payed for them but not picked them up yet. I intended to use these as rears in HT but the passive is going to make placement a challenge and I don't have the room to spare. Going with heresys or cornwalls. They are near mint and I will post pictures/#s tonight. Asking $600 which is exactly what I payed for them. I would rather not ship due to the condition.

A search for Klipsch brings up umpetty-eleben posibilities but a search for Klipschorn does not bring up the item you refer to. In any event in the absence of the full URL posting the item number works almost as well. ---------------- umm, how about doing a search for 'Klipsch Cornwall(s)' like he is referring to the title of the post.
  11. I am putting another layer of sub floor on with 'green glue'. I am also filling between all the studs with high density urethane foam before drywalling with dense drywall before this option. I have a couple of accounts that manufacture foam and i am getting their scraps and applying behing my walls with a sprayable hot melt adhesive (which I sell). This is my budget route. It was going to add 30% to my cost of finishing the room. I am going to see how the treatment works before a put up any molding and may add bead board paneling with more 'green glue' if the results aren't very good. Thanks for the compliment on the speakers, I am blown away by these things right now.
  12. What is the difference between a Harley and a vacuum cleaner? The postion of the dirtbag.

And since when does Khorns wear Dared monoblocks on their heads? ---------------- lol, that was a stain that my wonderful sellers did a nice job of hiding. I took the dareds over for a test from my office system and need to get them off of the floor due to kids. Like I said, I hijacked their playroom. And, yes, I have threatened each of their lives if they touch the KHorns.
  14. I love it, greatest rock movie ever. Thanks. Here is a pic.
  15. These are the flea powered amps that I have heard: Sophia AudioNote Decware (Zen) have owned Fi (X - 2a3/45) own, my favorite Bottlehead (Paramours) my brother owns, excellent Dared (300B) own, for sale, Chinese manufactured, good value
  16. Well, I finally got them home to my new house. I have hijacked the bonus room until my attic is done. They are 1985 Oiled Oak in sweet shape and i could not be happier with this deal. They have taken my modest system to a new level. I was blown away at the amount of gear this guy had that was not used. Probably five or six amps, 3 preamps, and a dozen or so speakers. He had another pair of WO KHorns, a couple pair of heresys, a pair of Macs, quads, Acoustats, B&W, you name it. Carver, McIntosh, Levinson, Krell, etc.
  17. Awesome. I'm going for it. Thanks for the help and I will be emailing you so thanks in advance. Keith
  18. I think I've got the bug after seeing those heresy cabs. Really well done. What tools were required?
  19. Any good books on doing this type of work? My buddy just bought some heresy and either of those veneers would look awesome.
  20. Go read the thread on the $300 Belles in Florida. That should clear things up for you.
  21. I hear you on the price range, but I have seen them go for far less than a grand and rarely higher than 1,400. I have not seen too many black finished pair go for more than a grand. This pair looks to be in good shape and if they were WO, I would agree. The reason that I am so suprised is that I listed a pair with a better finish in comparable condition and age for $750 and nobody really seemed too impressed. A guy answered my WTB add on Audiogon but they were too far away to justify a purchase.
  22. Just curious, why does everyone think this is such a great deal?? Black La Scalas usually sell for between 800 and a grand. I just want to be sure I am not missing something here. Also, I contacted the seller, They are one owner, consecutive serial number, 1987.
