  1. I also need to buy or build a rack to put this stuff in. Any suggestions would be helpful. Mark
  2. Here's the $100. KP-301's.
  3. I've got the KP-301's on top of the subs. I think it would sound better with the 301's more elevated. When I do my nephew's graduation party in two weeks I'll do that. I have alot of questions but am working right now. Here's a pic of almost everything I've been gathering together.
  4. Hey all, Well I purchased the Crown XTI 1000 it's pretty nice I gotta learn how to use it better. You can hook it up to your laptop and use the System Architect program to adjust the crossover levels, settings, delay etc. Right now I'm using it for the kp-1000's (kp-115's) crossed from 400hz to 38hz. Then it's daisychained out to the Altec 9444a to power the kp-301's. The 9444a is noisy compared to the Crown and I'd like to replace that sometime in the future.
  5. I hooked them up with the crossovers outside of the box and sent the high frequency out to the KP-301's and listened to them all day outside. I believe they'll suit my needs just fine. I'm gonna use them for parties and stuff. My amp has 250watts out at 8 ohms so I believe I could use some more power. I'm gonna put the crossovers back in this week and go that route for now. Overall this setup sounded pretty sweet and my neighbors concur as well. Mark
  6. Thanx Bill, I found one post about the kp-1000's. Roy says they're KP-115's with carpet. I think these will suit my needs well. I've been looking for subs for a long time and they're fairly expensive. I got these fairly cheap I believe. The E-bay seller misspelled woofer (woffer), and he said they were 14". Overall he had a bad item description. I was going to inform him of that when I picked them up but he wasn't there. I'm gonna try em out with my KP-301's today. Take care, Mark
  7. I just got back a little while ago from Philly picking the subs up. They're KP-1000-C2-X's. Serial #'s 97211081 and 82. Now I couldn't find any info on the KP-1000's but the Klipsch vinyl marker on the back says KP-115-X and it says KP-1000-X. So I should assume that these have the same specs? They're in great shape the original owner took out the crossovers but they're included. I didn't get to meet him he just left them out by his garage for me.He went down to the Jersey Shore for the weekend. I'll try to hook them up tomorrow with the crossover outside of the cabinet. I did check them with a meter though and the impedance was correct. Overall it was a great ride except for the massive hailstorm just after the Lehigh Tunnel. I swung by Guitar center to check out those Crown XTI's Dr. Who mentioned but they were closed. I think I'm gonna get one. Mark
  8. Thanx for the replies, I'll have to pick them up this weekend and see what I have then go from there. I'll be sure to let you all know. Mark
  9. Hey all, I recently won what I believe to be a pair of kp-115's (subwoofers) from E-bay. I have to drive 4 hours to Philadelphia this weekend to get them. Anyways my question is. Can I connect these with my kp-301's together? I know the right thing to do is use an active crossover and separate amps. But I don't have all that right now. They do have passive crossovers with them. I'll be using my Stanton RM-80 mixer with an Altec Lansing 944a which is 250 watts at 8 ohms. Thanx for any answers in advance. Mark
  10. Somethings amiss maybe. I'd call though if I were in Houston, OMG!
  11. Well I got a Nakamichi BX-100 for a dollar at a yard sale the other day. How's that for a deal? Gotta love those yard sales!
  12. A really nice way to package them is to cut thin plywood or luan or whatever you have available and attach the woofers to them. Also cut the plywood the same dimensions as the box. If your interested. Mark
  13. Let's not forget Pat Boone's "No More Mr. Nice Guy". It's Pat Boone's take on some of the greatest heavy metal hit's. It was at our local library. I'm sorry I didn't rip it because this is a classic spoof album. There's a pic of him on the cover sporting a leather vest, tattoos and some sort of diamond in his eye effect. This is so aweful it deserves a listen. Mark
  14. Cool beans Dave! I was in Roanoke in 1987. I really loved it there too. Thanx. Mark
  15. If no one takes this soon I will, provided you could take half the payment this month and half next month. Delivery on full payment. I would really love a Blueberry. I wouldn't need the extra case though. Just an option for you. BTW I lived in Roanoke for about 6 months shortly after I got married. Nice place. Anyways that's what I can come up with right now. Take care, Mark
  16. I responded and thanx! Mark
  17. Hello, Would you be willing to part with a yard or two. Thanx, Mark
  18. Hey Jordan, Using the brown does sound intriguing but right now I'm just going to try to return these to their original condition. I'm going to take the ct125's out and put the original k77's back in. I wanna really just finish these babies up and not touch them for another ten years. Maybe in the future I could make extra grills using the brown. Mark
  19. That'd be awesome. Thank you, Mark
  20. I'd really like two yards but I'd settle for one. I mean like beggars can't be choosers don't ya know. Thanx for your help and replies anyways. Let me know too. Mark
