  2. 2 fellers standin' on a bridge. One sez the water's cold, the udder 'un sez it's deep. I believe one of dem fellers wuz from Arkansas....mmmmmhmmmm Carl Childers
  3. picked up an inexpensive 100" dia. pull down screen from CC today and hung it. It's a matte white screen and it indeed does look much better than the wall. I also mounted the pj on the ceiling. I can't stop watching it. LL World Series, HD Preseason, Discovery HD, Space Cowboys, Home Alone 2 with my daughter earlier, part of Space Cowboys (got a good demonstration of contrast capability on that)......hell, what else?? The Busch Race in HD, Varsity Blues (yeah, I know) on ShowHD. I also tried out some regular DVDs, Star Wars ROTS and it was really nice. Has anyone used a laptop w/ HD DVD drive? My HP Notebook has the drive and hdmi output so I might (will) try it. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner.
  4. the Optoma arrived in less than 2 days. The Projector People seem great so far. I rolled the old Toshiba out of the way, set the pj on a side table and hooked up the component video cables from the receiver. Just shooting on the off white painted wall the picture was freaking awesome. I can't imagine what it's going to be like with a screen and after tweaking the settings. Even standard def looked great (for standard def). I'm really going to like this thing. Unreal.
  5. but you have to have the receiver to accept it, the older boxes won't work with the adapter.
  6. I just pulled the trigger on an Optoma HD 80. $2599 shipped from an AD with ceiling mount. Let the good times roll.
  7. Hey Tom, I sent you a PM about the seats. Billy
  8. oh, ok, I figured you did. Hmmm, I guess they would be a flatfish that taste gooooooooooooooooood

  10. I used to see "the colors" back in the day................................you know, red acid and all that chit
  11. or a Mits HC4900. Can't seem to find any reviews on that one
  12. The Home Depot 12 ga. speaker wire with the clear shield has turned green on me and gotten all stiff. Nasty! probably from running the audio portion of all those Bulldog Football games.[&]
  13. mitsubishi HC 3000 looks pretty good from projectorcentral reviews
  14. Not to be confused with "The Double McGuffin", a movie that was filmed in Charleston in the late seventies "starring" the likes of Too Tall Jones, Lyle Alzado, Earnest Borgnine, George Kennedy and Elke Sommer (in the day......muy caliente!!!)
  15. BUT!! does it come in a locked case???
  16. makes sense. I'll try to find a DLP somewhere to demo. Thanks Guys. I have also seen a Sony VPLHS60 3LCD right in my price range. Looked good for less than $1200. Has anyone demo'ed one?
  17. I think it's "AMOCK" but I wouldn't swear to it
  18. They also sell lock boxes. also sledgehammers and pry-bars
  19. You may not be able to review the exact DLP projector, BUT I STRONGLY suggest you sit you and your family in front of a DLP projector for a half to a full hour before spending thousands of dollars of your hard earned money. Why? Because it goes much further than just some motion artifacts for some of us. My wife experiences eye strain and headaches after about 20 minutes of viewing a DLP projector (one with 6 segments). I get motion sickness!!! Not very pleasant to view if you or your family members experience the same issues. If you can not view a DLP before purchase, you are better off getting an LCD like we did. I too prefered DLP on paper but watching one is a whole different ball of wax for our family. a possible dumb question, but here it goes. I have a 61" DLP RPTV and have none of the issues you mention. Does this mean I'm OK with DLP or is that fact totally irrelevant?
  20. where did you get the stands for the RS7s?
  21. I doubt I will have the opportunity to demo many of the models in my price range so I will have to research and ask questions and take my best shot. I think I will go for a DLP from what I have gathered so far.
  22. Might I suggest a bit more cow bell? Or perhaps #5 could help you both.[] I think anyone would love to have #5, and I know they came to our house and showed us up last year, but I do recall stopping him pretty good to win the game in 2005. I know they could be tough, but Nutt's on the way out and I think there's way too much turmoil out there. Good luck. #5 is running all over us again on ESPNU right now
