  1. Thanks I am looking at doing the newtworks on all my fronts Forte II, Academy to update the old networks. I have been paying attention to the post on updating old components in these already great sounding speakers. Waiting for further information from you.
  2. Fellow Klipsch Heads I am in the same boat with everyone else but took a different direction. My teenage boys blew up my Academy and I bought replacement drivers from Klipsch and had to use KLF C7 drivers for the 8". I think there is enough need for a Heritage center because 5 channel and more is here to stay. Popbumper can you private message me on network for the hot rod Academy with KLF replacements. I have yet to play the Academy since replacement waiting on Musical Fidelity amplifier to be delivered. Thanks and this forum ROCKS......
  3. My recent experience with my Klipsch tech support is way above the norm in the real corporate world. My Academy fell on hard time recently my teenage boys turned up the movie Transformers and blew the woofers and tweeter. I called Klipsch and found out the woofers were no longer available for a Academy. Much to my surprise they suggested send an email to Michael Colter and advise him of my situation. He emailed me back and said he would investigate alternatives that sounded hopeful. Colterphoto I and Popbumper set up and tested the Academy and KLF C7 to see if a suitable replacement could be found and they did and recommended the KLF drive would work. I have since ordered my replacement drivers and am waiting on the arrival to post my response to the hard work of 2 fine gentlemen of the Klipsch Nation.
  4. I really appreciate your opinion you come very highly regarded as "THE MAN". I have already sold the B&K and am waiting for the delivery of the Musical Fidelity. I own a back up Parasound HCA1206 6 channel to fall back on if I don't like the MF which I doubt very seriously I would not like the sound.
  5. DeanG I am on a quest to make my system as ear freindly as possible. With the Musical Fidelity I belive it will give me the best of both world smooth sound on music and good sounding movies, however I may need some network upgrades for the Forte II as well as my Academy ( with new KLF C7 drivers due to thermal meltdown by my teenage boys). Colerphoto1 and Popbumber ran test at Klipsch to find suitable replacements since Klipsch does not make Academy drivers any longer. The KLF drivers had a little forward presentation that will work fine with movies however Michael said it was a little much on 5 channel music and maybe we would have to build a new network.
  6. I am looking to up grade for the 3rd time in 12 months(my wife is pissed). I am looking at the Musical Fidelity Ht600 5 channel amp. I listen to 2 channel but also like good movies as well. Look like all the info I find the amp is made for the Forte II that I use for my main listening room. I am currently using a B&K AVC 5000 II with the same power ratings but hear the other is much more musical. Can anyone shed some lite on the subject.....Any info would be appreciated..... Forte II , Academy center KG 2.2V Surrounds, Rel Q201 sub bass Parrasound 2500u processor bash I have already posted this question on the 2 channel thread no response here ya go HT nut like me
  7. It really depends on the intent of the sub woofer ( movies or music). I have found the British make a great sub for the $$$$. Try http://www.mjacoustics.co.uk/. I own a Rel Q201 and it is aw some with both music and movies because of the intent to recreate music with detail and finesse along with impact and thrust movies require a well rounded Sub-Bass system. Oh by the way the guys at MJ Acoustics were the same guys who made Rel the best sub bass system on the market today for musical sub systems all musicians and engineers as well.
  8. I know some one has a opinion on the Musical Fidelity question. I have since made the purchase but still would like to get the Klipsch Nation to chime in on t he subject.

  13. I will ask on more question about timber matching and will have the info I need to complete the 5.1 in my home. Will the Klf C7 match up to the Forte II w KG 2.2 effects or do I hold out for the Oak Academy ( has to be oak to make you know who happy ) As always thanks for you help and guidance it has been great.
  14. Gang one more question about the center channel would the KLF c7 match the Forte II w/KG 2.2 rear effects?
  15. I like almost every genre of music and sometimes loud sometimes moderate. Budget is probably in the 500.00 to 600.00 range.
  16. I have just purchased my 1st Klipsch, Forte II with kg 2.2 rear effect. Would like to try tube amps with 2 channel. I have allways heard that the Klipsch sound great with open ended tubes what would a good starter tube set up? I have a Marantz sr 7000 HT set up and sound great but I feel like I am missing the true colors of the Forte II. I know with the wealth of knowledge in this forum I can get the guidance needed to get something the won't break the bank and sound awe-some.
  17. I appreciate your advise. I have purchased Klipsch KG 2.2 however I need to find Academy in Oak if you have any ideas where I may find one or is the klf c7 a suitable substitute. Thanks in advance
  18. Well I don't have the space for Forte center but I have made a purchase of KG 2.5 for the effects due to size but still need to find an Academy center in Oak if anyone has one or a line on one please let me know.
  19. If you go to www.outlawaudio.com you can look at the pre pro that is a smoking deal. No showroom or middleman. Take a look at the big 7 channel amp and look at the specs I was very impressed and the processor is second to none. Let me know what you think.
  20. Bob I am looking for Quartets in Oak and Academy also please emai me price and shipping to 78666 in Texas. What condition and so on Thanks In advance
  21. I have one suggestion look at the B&K seperates they sound awe-some with the head room and power and flexability(my buddy has them swears by them). I also Like Audio Outlaws seperates with dampning factor off the charts. But with the Klipsch being so efficient the sky is the limit...
  22. I have looked at the numbers and size and the Quartets would be perfect in my HT. Does anyone have a set for sell? Just let me know I would like to persue this avenue.
  23. point_and_shoot The def tech are great with home theater and imaging is awesome but with music they sounded like ***....
