  1. I bought Michael Jackons "Bad" this week. A CD I lost a few years ago. When listening to it, i realized just how great it is mixed. If you want to show off what you RF-7s can do when it comes to deep bass.... you should try "Dirty Diana" or "Smooth Criminal" which are also great songs even after almost 20 years. Nick
  2. Sorry.. can´t post the .ai and .eps files. I will mail them to you! Nick
  3. Finally.... sorry for the delay. Last week has been very busy. First the jpeg file
  4. Hmm... once again, I will give you the european price! ;-) For one liter of unleaded gas (98 octane) you pay 1.22,- euros atm. This equals 4.61,- euros per gallon which is around 4.07,- USD. Nick
  5. As far as I know the horns in the RC-7 are equal to the ones in the RF-7s. Actually I am sure. Just change it out. But make sure you get the connections right. On of the terminals on the horn is colored red. Nick
  6. I felt just the same as all of you. Except, I didnt even make it to the war scenes. I fell asleep 3 times in the first 35 minutes and the decided that the movie was not worth another try. So I went to bed an returned it to the video store the next day. Reading this thread I am sure I havent missed anything...
  7. Dean... there is no question about it.... your schematics have the professional look. Mine look like they were drawn by a six year old kid. Then again... I AM a six year old kid when it comes to electronics! ;-) Nick
  8. Is that the grey haired old freak, who is on TV every night talking some rather simple minded religious stuff? I think I have seen him quite a few times when I was in Denver a few years ago... I don´t want to go into detail, what exactly I think about him. I just believe he should go and take the red pill... "welcome to the real world" At least there are a few people who start doing something about the religious bs that has been getting worse in the last years. Did you hear about the spaghetti monster that created the world? I love it! - What a perfect answer to all those strange religous theories and theisms... Nick I am still trying to figure out whether it´s better from a movie rating point of view to caress a clothed female breast or to shoot a naked female breast.....
  9. I have to watch my paintball videos by myself, same thing with the Alien Quadrilogy or anything that goes extraterrestrial. She amazed me a few day ago though, when she DID watch "We were soldiers" with me. The ones of you, who have seen the movie will agree, that it is not you average "girly flick". I even told her before, that this was probably one of the most realistic war movies out there (or at least that I have seen, and I have seen quite a few) showing the cruelty in every detail and leaving you with a bitter taste in your mouth and a numb feeling in your stomach afterwards. This evening definitly made us both think. Watching this movie and realizing how thankful one has to be, being at home and being loved, living peacefully... Nick
  10. Hi Coyotee! I am not a vet, but as far as I know a dogs tail is basically a prolonged part of its spine. What I am pretty sure about is, that dogs CAN break their tail, same as cats. I believe it is not very painfull, as the tail does not have a lot of nerves in it. You should still go and see a vet. A dogs tail is very important for the dogs "non verbal" communication as it expresses its moods and so on. Regrads Nick
  11. Hi everyone. The logo is in the makes as I write this. Might even be finished by tonight. Should I post it here or mail it to you. Marvel? Nick
  12. The LF x-over. The outputs off course connect to both woofers.
  13. Well, the guy at mundorf was right. I messed up on the hf schematic. I took the crossover out again last night and altered the diagram. Now everything should be correct. I know the symbols are weird and not technically correct, but they work for me! Nick
  14. Hot glue is not a bad idea. There is two ways you could mount the logo. 1) Put hot glue on the logo and just stick it on. Advantage: If the finish of the cabinet is very smooth, you will be able to take the logo off later, without damaging thh cabinet. Downside: The logo might fall off once in a while, requiring you to glue it back on again. 2) Use a stanley knife or a rasp to scratch the surface of the cabinet where the logo is to be placed. Do the same thing to the rear of the logo plate. Then apply hot glue and make sure your press the logo on really tight for a minute or so. The hot glue will run into all the little scratches and grooves you have made and by that "lock it´s jaws" into the surface. Advantage: The logo plate should be in place for a long time. Downside: The obvious. The cabinet will be scratched... Nick

    Troy

Hi everyone! I was wondering if there is a differnce between the european "Troy" dvd and the US version. The dolby digital sound on the dvd is the worst I have ever heard. They guy mixing the movie must have been MUI (mixing under influence). Is there a special edition that maybe even has DTS sound? It´s sad to have the sound ruin an otherwise good and entertaining movie. Thanks! Nick
  16. Well... in fact I was just guessing. And then again... it isn´t all that hard to figure out, is it? Klipsch stopping the Production of the Klipschhorn is like Porsche stopping the Production of the 911. I think it will never happen, as long as the company exists.... Nick P.S.: Looks like I didn´t manage to trick anyone into leaking information!
  17. Check out the Klipsch homepage -> Products -> Heritage -> Klipschhorn. The Klipschhorn is off course still in production... and I guess it will always be. It is the companies flagship..... Or does anyone have different information? Nick
  18. Hehe... do you know the guys out here in vienna? I visit them all the time. Apart from beeing my local ht-dealer they have actually become friends of mine. The only thing is... I am not the one in search of a PC card for a THX Ultra II system. Nick
  19. Ah, that sounds like one great oportunity... if it wasn´t for the flight and everything.
  20. I have done a little internet search. There is a PC from Dell that is THX certified. Yes... Georgy Lucas said it´s good enough! They are using a "Turtle Beach Santa Cruz DSP" sound card, so i figure it wouldn´t be a bad match for the THX Ultra 2 system. There is quite some information on the internet about it! Nick
  21. Some interesting news. I sent the schematics to the guy at mundorf today. He checked them and told me two interesting things: 1) The HF X-over is either a very weird construction or I got something wrong when drawing the schematic. For some reason I get the feeling, the latter is the case... 2) The 1 ohm resistor on the lf x-over made him wonder too. He told me that this kind of setup is normally used to dampen the voice coil and to make the speaker more impedance stable, but he would have expected the resistor to be around 6 - 10 ohms. Well... I off course have no idea whether this is a good thing or not. He said we should go with the factory setup and stick with 1 ohm. Nick
  22. If you really think about hooking the THX Ultra 2 system to a PC, it should be one high end HTPC. Anything else is a waste of money. I have seen quite a few HTPCs and most of them don´t even come close to mid-priced DVD-Players. Its kind of like asking if a Ferrari can be run with Diesel.... Nick
  23. ---------------- On 8/21/2005 6:07:47 PM PiperG wrote: One speaker as the rear won't work since I have no wall behind the couch--it's open to the kitchen. RS35's wouldn't be good for the sides? I need two behind me(mounted on plant shelves behind the couch), and two speakers on the left and right. My budget won't allow another 1,000 bucks for two more RF35's. I was lucky to get the two I got(my wife rocks!) ---------------- Ok. Then simply use 2 RS-35s in the back. It is hard to say the RS-35s or the RB-35s sound better on the sides. This is really a matter of your personal taste. The RB-35s deliver a very direct sound, whereas the RS-35s are built to spread the sound more widely. Some people prefer the direct sound especially for music. In the rear I would go with the RS-35s for sure though. This is again my personal feeling. If you have a chance, get a pair of RBs and a pair or RSs and listen to them as your surrounds to find out which you like better. Then either bring back the RBs and get a second pair of RSs or simply mount what you got! Nick
