  2. Gilbert, you're right. I am getting too worked up over this. I have a very nice setup and should be happy with it. Those Belle's just look so sweet. No hard feelings. I am done thinking about the speakers so I hope that a forum member can get a good deal on them. Best of luck in your quest as well. Boomer Sooner.
  3. Sorry Gilbert, but I found your comments truly amusing with the "shoe on the other foot" and to "have a heart" when you are going and purchasing the speakers that I should rightfully have. But you don't know me, I am merely a forum member trying to get my hands on the elusive Belle's. And you are justifying why this unethical seller can break the rules of eBay. Would you feel the same way if you had gotten shafted and I was going to feed this sac-o-crap a few extra hundreds for the speakers when they are in my backyard a half day's drive? All of this after he repeadly fails to follow through on auctions? It sounds like you are a real straight-up guy. My apologies but I think that is the definition of hypocrite. Regarding the feedback issue. Well, this is why eBay's feedback system sucks. I am NOT going to get screwed twice, I promise you. I guess I am just a red *** from this whole deal. Enjoy the speakers.
  4. Hey Michael, For $500 the cornwall shoots up the list. I have not found those deals, unfortunately. I have seen pairs in my neck of the woods from $800 to $1,100. I have seen fortes for as little as $300-$400 in decent shape. Both great speakers, although the corns obviously have a much better slam factor. Take care and find me some $500 corns. Dirk
  5. Oh, he's a great guy. I'm gonna buy them after you get screwed out of an auction. You need to get a heart. Blah, blah, blah. Gilbert, you are a hypocrite. If the shoe was on the other foot, lol.
  6. This one is an absolute no brainer, IMHO. Pick up a Sony DVP-S9000ES and you can pull double duty. Beautiful sound, built like a tank, and at $549 it is a steal! Stretch the budget a little, you will be happy you did, I promise you. https://ganymede.cybrzn.com/soundseller/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/277
  7. He could have at least dealt with me on it. Even though I think He should have sold them for $1,600, I would have paid him two grand. I really wanted them and I think that was fairly obvious from our correspondance. Now, the old dirtball can keep them as far as I'm concerned.[:@]
  8. I disagree. I think the Forte comes very close in performance and you can routinely get a pair for half of the Cornwall. I do agree that the Cornwall is a phenomenal value as with the list that i posted. I would have listed it 5th. One man's (a very handsome and intelligent one) opinion.
  9. I am glad you find him to be a pleasant fellow. I have a different opinion since he did not honor his first auction of $1,600 for the pair. This is slightly below market value and I think eBay should cancel his auction. After all this crap about eBay auctions being a contract, he should honor it. He is simply another one of the awful sellers that I unfortunately ran into, hearing aid/prosthetic leg/kidney stones/whatever. After all, you got your Belle. []
  10. I will start with: 1. Forte/Forte II 2. La Scala 3. Chorus 4. KHorn
  11. I want to get one for a center to try versus My La Scala. If the Cornwall worked, I can get a bigger screen and I would only use it for a center. 4 days left in the auction. One is sweet and one has a blemish on the side. I would be willing to take the crappy one because i would refinish in gloss black. The speakers are in AZ but the seller is paying anything over $100. So $50 shipping for one.
  12. I could use one of these. I have three La Scalau up front in my HT. Sounds kinda cool to experiment with.
  13. The Dandy Warhold - The Dandy's Come Down White Stripes - Live The Stooges - Fun House Deluxe
  14. oh... I also sent a message to the seller. I told him that I expected him to complete the transaction and he will be hearing from my attorney because the auction is a contract to sell. I will post his response if i get one.
  15. The guy relisted the speakers and added one sentence. I have sent a complaint through eBay to get his auction cancelled. I will be contacting a lawyer soon. I probably won't get the Belles but will certainly enjoy %$%#ing with this moron for a few days.
  16. Duke and Rick, I think I'll do both. Thanks for the ideas.
  17. I am pissed. I don't know how I should proceed. The negative feedback thing is worthless. A retaliatory negative would do me more damage with 180+ positive than the guy with a zero rating. The ad is clearly for the pair. When I sent him an email asking a good time to pick up the speakers, he replied: "Don't start driving yet. Unless your name is Mark, one speaker has been sold." I told him that I had no idea who Mark is, but I won the auction for the PAIR. It went downill from there. This guy is clearly a moron. I can't decide whether or not to let this go. What can I do????
  18. Now the guy is telling me the auction is for one speaker. lol
  19. Good price on a good speaker. Should be an easy sale.
  20. Good eye Budman. Snagged 'em for the BIN.

  22. Just over a year old in very good condition. They sell around $899 a piece when purchased new. I am looking to get $800 for the pair. Excellent sounding amps. Selling because my father bought a new Mac rig and is finally coming off a pair of MC60s. Sweeeeeeeeet. http://www.monarchyaudio.com
  23. Once I saw the title of this post, I couldn't get to Parrot's response fast enough. Low and behold, he didn't disappoint.
