  1. Thought I [post some pics of a strange hand made khorn like speaker I about to bring back to life. I plan on restoring the cab with new venear and grill ctoth. The orig drivers will be used Jensen rp gold super tweeter, Electrovoice sp8 and 15" red feild coil . If anyone what this 15" bass driver is let me know. The strange part is the front firing with rear corner horn loaded mid cab, anyone ever seen one lik this ? I cant wait to hear this mid sound, will make a cool mono rig. Btw klipsch used this same jensen super tweter in 1951 for a very short time ,just might be the best they ever used..
  2. Some very minior scatches, dings. I would say they are very nice and better than most speakers of this vintage. If you are intersted pm me and I will email some pics.
  3. Ok they are take up reels for vidio tape. I think tv stations stoped using !" open reel tape in the 70's I thought they were audio ampex reels which are still used, but they look diffrent to me. I was intersted when I thought they were for audio ,as I use 1" tape for recoding in my studio.
  4. speaker are still avalible now best offer. Pm for close up pics
  5. I have a pair of Klipsch RP5's with the built in 15" powerd subs. They are about 4 feet tall. They only made theses for a cou[ple years with the built in sub. BEST offer
  6. Ok so they the same as the one my 60 cornwall's .I thought they might have said hersey like the 58/59 ones.
  7. Don't foget about sticky tape with old tape. My 1" deck would'nt even play, reels came to a stop with some old ampex tape. I read up on the cure (tape backing ) and baked my tape in a food dehydratorand tape played like new. here some info on baking tapes http://www.tangible-technology.com/tape/baking1.html
  8. What all the studio's are using now ATR grand master http://www.atrtape.com/. I'm using it with my 3m m56 half track and my 1" otari mx 7800 8 track. 1/4 "ATR 10.5" reels are 60.00
  9. 50's custom made khorn mono console note the cab is shaped like a khorn even with coller insert. I picked this up along with a unload 2nd matching cab. and early 50's khorn clone, but with higher quilty build/parts. this is my all time favorit console for a khorn as it was built for one along with a tube electronic crossover. The name on the face plate says audiofile custom I can't find any info on the net.
  10. oops I think your right looks like B is 63 . The chart I had saved from a few years ago had b as 62, but after a google search I found the charts have b as 63. Btw anyone have a pic of a pre 63 post 59 heresy logo. My 59 and 58 H's have a rectangle Aluminum with black paint logo.
  11. I thought I was going back to basic with my 1" 8 track into 1/4" 3m m56 2 track. After hearing this Two track recoding (http://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much-gear-so-little-time/543947-hi-style-studios-chicago-music-video.html)recoding on a tube Ampex mixerinto a Berlant 1/4 " deck I,m now hunting down A old tube mixers to use with a Berlant mono deck I have.
  12. ok I put a asking price on the speakers to keep all happy. I will ship The serial numbers have the b in them which I think makes them 62. The tags are orig and the Same as my 62 cornwall. My 60 cornwall has the clear rectangle tag so maybe somtime in earlier 62 or 61 they change to the pie logo.
  13. 800.00 I thought I would offer them here first as they are uncommon., not run of the mill heresy's. In fact I have never seen another pair just like them on ebay or here in the past 12 years.
  14. This is a nice set of Mahongany early Heresy's for sale 800.00 or best offer. The drivers/crossovers are all orig. they sound real real good. All they need is a good amp and they will sing. located in the Boston area.
  15. I have a mint set of mahongany early hersesys 1962 i think.
  16. I run a pair of 51 khorns in my main system in stock untoched formed. They sound real in totaly stock form with extended highs tight punhy bass and a midrange to die for.. But Klipsch did use there best tweeter ever back then the Jensen rp302 gold super tweeter. Te orig large caps hold there values and still work to spec. I realy like the sound of the woodglass horn from the eraly days over the later cast and plastic horns.
  17. I happen to have a large collection of 50's and even 40's klipsch speakers in Orig condition. I might have a single or rare pair of mid 50,s khorns I could be talked out of. I have a 3 way klipsch system from 58 that came from klisch with one hersey(center) one short horn (lert ot right side)and one khorn all in matching mahonony. The orig klipsh lit shows this set up for early stero use,
