  2. I hope this isn't a repost, a buddy of mine found this, what in the world is 1.1 surround sound. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062689&cp=2032057.2032183&fbx=0&allCount=16&fbn=Brand%2FRadioShack&f=Brand%2F1000094%2F&fbc=1&fr=StorePrice%2FRSK%2F00001000%2F00004999&parentPage=family
  3. This is why I love GMail, it catches all fake eBay emails and throws them into the trash and also makes it impossible to click the link that otherwise would be clickable in other email programs/services. On a side note, I get fake eBay emails in my junk box almost weekly.
  4. Here is mine, I love it, I upgraded from just having a pair of Quintet's, uncomparable difference.
  5. I want something to replace the A/V rack I have, cause it's so boring to me. (ignore the rubbermade storage box in the picture, I just had it sitting there while I was moving stuff, hehe) I like the look of open style glass A/V racks where the components look like they are floating, plus I need something nice to house my NAD seperates I'll be buying in a few weeks, plus the 32" LCD TV later on that will be going on the wall. Oh yeah and I'm well aware this picture is HORRIBLE, I just don't take enough pictures to justify the purchase of a digital camera, my phone does the job most of the time, cept indoors which for some reason it always looks grainy.
  6. Sweet, thanks, free shipping and great prices at Stands And Mounts!
  7. Where do you all shop for your A/V racks and things of that sort? I'm trying to find some nice ones, that aren't too much money and I'm not having very much luck, It just seems crazy to have to spend $350-500 on something so simple, I'm looking for a small 3 tier glass shelf A/V rack that doesn't cost an arm and a leg but looks nice.
  8. This is something I have been wondering for a long time. Basically what the thread says, how much of a difference do you actaully get running a seperate amp and pre-amp over the same product in an integrated form? Such as seperates line the NAD C272 amp + C162 pre-amp compared to the integrated NAD C372 One thing I do notice, just taking NAD into consideration again, buying the C272 and C162 seperatelly the price tag would be $1300, but for basically the same thing the C373 is $900, do the seperates use better components?
  9. Well I've had a whole day to spend listening to my wonderful new Synergy F-3's which I absolutly love, the only problem is now my amplifier (well receiver actaully) is a very big limiting factor to the quality of sound that the F-3's can put out. I think I am leaning towards seperates, but I am totally unsure of which company I want to go with, Rotel and NAD are 2 companies I'm kinda bouncing back and forth between, such as the Rotel RB-1080, or NAD C272 for amplifier, I'm still uncertain about the pre-amp. While I'm on the subject of power, how big of a difference do AC line filters make in sound quality. A audio buddy of mine said I should really start looking into one of thoes now that I'm getting into more higher end audio stuff. Anyway, I am truely happy with my purcahse of the F-3's, the sound simply blows me away. The dual 8's really can push deep and loud with minimal distortion which I think right now is caused by the amp which earlier today shut off cause it overheated...(I didn't even have the volume knob pushing 40%, it's rated at 100w x 2 RMS... yeah right) Pathetic amp. I can't wait to enjoy them even more with a good clean amplifier. I Hope you can all help me make the right choice with an amp / pre-amp *As for the receiver overheating, it's done that on previous speakers, not the first time I've seen it happen. What can ya say, it was only $129 back in 1998, probably worth about $5 now.
  10. Looking at which receiver I'm going to buy in the next few weeks, I noticed the Denon's have a jack in the front for a "setup mic" is that like something you place where you sit and the receiver will adjust levels of the speakers perfectly or something? Does that come with it?
  11. Shhhh I made this post before we got talking about the Denon's
  12. I've not been in the projector loop for a while, does anyone know if anyone makes a good projector that will do a 80" screen for around $1500?
  13. I'm going to be picking up my Synergy F-3's on Thursday, and eventually will be buying the rest of the Synergy line, Sub-12, C-3, and S-3's for a 5.1 configuration. Which receiver should I go with to power them all? I was thinking something in the lines of an Harmon Kardon or Denon.
  14. Yeah the Pioneer has a sub output, I'll be using my computer mainly but 5G iPod Video when my PC is off when I wanna fall asleep to music because my PC is just too loud (damn fan) even with the volume up. I'm running an Audigy 2 in my PC
  15. Best Buy kinda sucked for listening to the F-3's but I know they are better then what they sounded like there, so I'm gonna make the purchase. For my next purchase after the speakers, should I buy a new amp, or buy the Sub-12? I'm running a kinda low end Pioneer with 100w x 2, its a stereo receiver. so F3's > new amp > Sub-12 or F3's > Sub-12 > new amp?
  16. I was going to buy the F-3's at Best Buy today on the spot, but listening to them at a moderate but not very loud volume, not as loud as I listen to my Quintets, they sounded very distorted and light in the low freqencies, can anyone assure me that this is because Best Buy doesn't know how to setup their Components?
  17. Since we are on the subject, does anyone know if the RB-81's will be better then the RB-75's and what the price of the RB-81's might be?
  18. Is it just me, or do the new(ish) Synergy speakers look a lot sexier then the new Reference series, I sure liked the look of the older R series (like the RF-3's, RF-5s, basically I mean the ones that had the black dust cap, and the externally screwed in horn and drivers) Speaking of which, what is going to happen to the RF-5, RF-7, and RC-7 when the even newer Reference line comes out? Are they getting replaced too?
  19. I was originally going to buy some Reference series speakers, but as other bills started to pop up, that plan kinda failed, so tomorrow I'm gonna go check out the Sub-12 and F-3's in person at Best Buy and probably buy them, and I'm sure I will be very pleased.
  20. Yes its me again, I still haven't made my new Klipsch purchase. And I have another question. Can anyone tell me which is better, the Synergy F-3 or the Reference RF-35.
  21. I just bought a 60GB iPod Video the newish one My first question is, does the iFi work with the slimmer 5G iPod, and are there any really annoying problems or things I should know about the iFi?
  22. I was talking about this to Dr. Who a week or two ago, about my plans to trade my 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 in on a (probably 2003) Jeep Wrangler Sahara or Sport and was wondering about my audio options, the first thing that came to my mind is hey Wranglers have a roll cage and would be the perfect spot to mount some enclosed speakers, not to sound ghetto but how well do Reference Series indoor/outdoor wallmount speakers sound in a close range environment? With the low range assisted by a sub which would be removable if I decided to get into some rough stuff and water getting into the cab.. hehe. Also instead of the Reference indoor/outdoors I was also thinking the quite similar Professional CA line of speakers which are basically the same but have a little bit different specs and are black which would look better then white. Also since I've never tried it before I'm not really sure how well speakers designed to be run on a home amp would work on a car amp which are generally 4ohms or less. I know I wouldn't be the first, but I'd be one of the few with Klipsch car audio. :-)
  23. That is a very nice theater for a school and it just got better with the addition of Klipsch. I can't even remember what my HS's theater in Venice, Florida used for audio, it wasn't anything special at all though, to be honest it was down right pathetic, they only had 2 speakers, on the left and right of the stage, given that they were pretty big, and horn loaded, but still pathetic. Any plans on running some Klipsch 18" cinema bass bins with that setup? That would be pretty sweet.
