  1. I feel wrong for mentioning another brand here but try to find some JBL Caberet 4691's or maybe some of the other models in that series. Built for your intended purpose, very efficient and best of all they have horns. HF
  2. When my second child was born my wife asked me to move my stereo room upstairs so that we could have three bedrooms. Now she complains that I spend too much time upstairs. Move your stuff to the basement and continue to enjoy it. For cryin' out loud it's your house too. HF
  3. Cornwall II's in black for $50.00. Someone on AK had responded just minutes after the listing and was sweating bullets waiting for a response back. I would imagine that whoever listed them was swamped with e-mails and quickly realized their mistake in pricing. HF
  4. Anybody catch this one yet?http://boston.craigslist.org/ele/111901056.html I'll bet his inbox is full by now, that and I doubt he'll end up letting them go for the $50.00. HF
  5. If you really would rather keep them price them high to show the wife you are willing to try. What I mean is ask what you want or have to have to make it worth losing them. If someone buys them then you got good money. If they don't sell you get to keep them. I've done this a few times. It has bitten me a couple too. HF
  6. Some, perhaps all of you will laugh and my next 2 suggestions don't fit the vintage criterea. A Nissan pickup that has been lowered about 2" inches overall and a set of lower profile tires on a bigger rim does very well and will surprise many more powerful cars in peformance. I raced my last pickup in the above configuration in SCCA Solo Two events for a couple of years with amazing results. Alot of times I was getting as good or even better times than Cameros, Mustangs, Firebirds and Corvettes and had no problem staying with the smaller RWD formats either (Miatas& Cellicas). I currently drive a beat up bone stock Nissan pickup like I stole it everyday and have a blast doing it. If you know nothing of Solo events they usually favor smaller cars and front wheel drive. My second suggestion is the Dodge Omni GLH Turbo or Charger Turbo especially the Shelby versions easily matches the straight line performance of the V-8's of its day and drives like its on rails. I had a non turbo version and loved it, run off many a 305 Iroc/Z28 and earlier 80's Mustangs with it. Transmissions are hard to keep in em though. Oh heres another suggestion but out of the price requirements. The GMC Cyclones and Typhoons. HF
  7. There's only one thing more powerful than the desire to own more speakers. I'm gonna go see if the wife will cooperate. HF
  8. If you read my pevious post you'll understand me when I say "I'LL DO IT!" HF
  9. Hurry, quick, someone buy these before I make an @$$ of myself to get the money. For crying out loud I turned down a pair of mint AR-4's last night for $55.00 because I didn't need to spend the money. Where in the world am I gonna get $350.00? You guys are enablers. Doc, I need help! HF
  10. That doesn't look that bad. I'm sure I could do it metal. Wood may be more difficult. But then everything I see doesn't look hard to duplicate. Is there any more detailed drawings? HF
  11. I have a tube amp from a CONN organ and have run it with my Carver pre-amp with great results on a pair of RF-3 II's. Not sure of the power ( maybe approaching 35 watts) and I can produce pretty good amounts of volume and I like my music loud. HF
  12. Get them, sit back and enjoy the Klipsch sound. Oh yeah, look at how good they look. HF
  13. I usually get it where I think it should be, sit in the main listening position and have someone adjust the crossover on the sub until it sounds good (this may also require the output level to be adjusted at the same time. Just get someone to make the adjustments while you sit and listen. Oops, forgot to mention it helps when you play something thru the system while doing this...silly me. HF
  14. If thats 350 for the whole system it sounds like a good deal to me. Not sure about the crease issue. Sounds like over excursion to me. I've seen it in other speakers but never heard that about then RF-3's. Hope it all works out for you. HF
