  1. That was so funny I about coughed up a lung!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Pretty cool [H] Wonder how much they cost considering the time involved??
  3. Was this because that they didn't change the physical size of the bass bin results in a different final flare rate? Or because the final flare was too short? I read on here somewhere that the benefit from making false corners longer than 4ft. resulted in a neglible improvement. So I would imagine making them shorter than "optimal" would also result in decreased efficiency. If you could look at a curve of the bass horns sensitivity, I'd bet that where it starts pooping out is directly proportional to the length of the sound wave/horn length. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Is that your picture I saw on the post office wall??? Is that the cops pulling up out front, they have an APB out on you, because it sounds like you stole them [6]
  5. I've taken my Heresys, Kg5.5s and T3000s and have never had a complaint. My favorite would be the KGs, they rumble really nice out at my uncle's camp. Even a couple hundred yards away in the lower bottom. The echoes from the hill make Pink Floyd sound even spookier..............LOL
  6. I recently bought three k-1023s, crossovers and k-85s from a gent on epay, plus I've got a NOS k-1023 in the driver store room. I'd want to rotate the woofers through my KGs to make sure they are functioning properly. I may be able to help you out with the woofers and crossovers. The k-85s I can't part with, since I've already used one.
  7. Went to lowes today after dropping the little man off at pre-school and grabbed some mdf. I had them cut it to the lengths I wanted and then dropped it off at the house. Picked up the little man and turned him loose in the back yard. Got out the plans and tools and started cutting. Then proceeded to the fitting mode. I got one of them roughed together, and it went together rather nicely. Had to stop and feed the troups and may try to get the other roughed in. It may have to wait until tomorrow, that would give me a chance to re-work the crossovers from the LaBelles.
  8. Looking at this crossover schematic of a cCf-3 I was wondering how much boost the T4A gave the high frequency driver going backwards from what appears to be tap #3?????????? CF-3 B pn 116374 # 3-1.pdf CF-3 B pn 116374 # 3-1.pdf
  9. The more I think of this build the more my head hurts. I've been sketching blueprints, figuring volumes and trying to make sense of how these things work. I found a link on the forums to calculate vent sizes. After plugging in the ports sizes from the Cornwall blueprints below, one with two and the other with three ports, I came up with two different frequencies. The ones with 3 slots are roughly tuned to 35.4 Hz, the two slot version works out to be about 33.2Hz. Is this anywhere in the ball park, or am I wondering around aimlessly in left field again? I had to scrap the k-1132/ k-63 version after checking out the crossovers from the speakers that these were utilized in, WAY OVER MY HEAD. So I am planning on using the k-400/k55 combo from the top of my Belle bass bins. I'm praying for good results, but not holding my breathe. http://community.klipsch.com/forums/storage/6/1268967/Cornwall_Plans.pdf
  10. Good luck on your quest, and welcome
  11. Getting ready for the big build and am trying to get some final dimensions together. I am going to try to incorporate all the drivers in a box and want to figure out the final size of the my ports and shelf length. What I was wondering was how much volume doesk-33 and a K-55-m attached to a k-400 displace? Here is a crude picture of the box shape and size.... Also wanted to hear from other cornscala owners about which crossover they were using in their beasts???? As always thanks in advance.
  12. I'm getting ready to try my luck at a set of Cornscalas. I'm wondering if any has tried the above crossover with and without the 68uf capacitor in the woofer unit? Is there any marked improvement in sound with it in there? And what purpose does it have??
  13. Good to hear from you and that all is well...
  14. Just won a new amp on ebay and am thinking of trying a tube pre-amp, was curious if anyone had any experience with one of these? http://cgi.ebay.com/MA-Ref-Marantz-7-Modified-Class-A-Valve-Tube-Pre-Amp_W0QQitemZ270543304648QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3efda337c8 Please wait Image not available
  15. Keep us posted on any improvement in sound, may order a pair or two for mine
