  1. I would buy an in line volume control if I were you. You can get them at many mobile phone stores. This will allow you to adjus the volume down. The second thing is that you can adjust your iPod for maximum output. I would think this would do the trick also.
  2. I am getting a lot of these emails and Skype discussions lately. Exept they all are located in Africa. Is that where you live also Win?
  3. You got to remember Indian that there are a lot of Klipschorn fans on this site the know the value of a folded bass horn in the corner of the room. Keep reading the other links in 2 channel and look at the pictures. You will start to get it. That was funny C!
  4. I tend to wear my C3's on a for 15 hours or less. I might get a little irritation in the ear canal if I take them in and out often to talk. What I do instead is turn my volume down or unplug the cable to minimize the chaffing. As far as fit. If you don't get a seal for proper bass performance you may need to bend the wire so the eartip points up and or forward a little more. This is what I had to do the first time. Once it is adusted it usually fits right as long as I keep them in the case to protect the bend on the wire. It takes some people a month or more before they "get it". So a little patience may pay off. Good luck!
  5. Not sure exactly how you reached your conclusion about round eartips. Please go to this link: http://community.klipsch.com/blogs/markb/archive/2009/07/09/getting-the-most-out-of-s4-headphones.aspx Chances are that your ear is squeezing the body of the headphone. Wearing the wire over the ear may take care of this. Also make sure that the ear tip is rotated the correct direction, (tall side up) and that you are using the correct eartip. If you are still having problems you can send me a close up picture of your ear with and without the headphone in place. We should be able to figure out what is going on.
  6. I think I have a solution for you. You should not have headaches unless you are listening too loud.
  7. Thanks Michael... Nice pictures! It looks like there are dual cabs with 8 x 10" or 12". I bet you get a lot of snap off of all of those motors.
  8. Hi Foo Fighter, You bring up a very valid question for Image. Your description is spot on for X5. If you have used Etymotic ER4's you will consider X5's to be a warmer version of that design. Highly accurate with great vocal and HF articulation and the bass is not bloated at all, but rather tight and crisp. I suspect that you are already an expert in this area but for those following along please read my blog which defines the difference between moving coil drivers and balanced armatures: http://forums.klipsch.com/blogs/markb/archive/2009/10/02/different-strokes.aspx This blog also goes into some details about S4 and X series. I am rather proud of our team for putting together the animation. Isn't it cool! The reason I bring this up is that most moving coils are very slow in the kick drum region. This is because the moving mass is much larger than a balanced armature so the design has to overcome inertial to deal with the acceleration. Typically the bass region becomes bloated and anything but tight. S4 reduces this problem due to the motor design having a high magnetic flux field in the gap of the voice coil. That being said... the X series is much tighter and more accurate, especially X5. I am biased I suspect, but if I was to guess, most people who try X5 will claim that it is one of their favorite designs, for sound signature... Fit and Ergo issues aside. Try the X5's. I think you will be pleased with the acoustic performance from your description.
  9. If it has been less than 2 years since you bought it we will honor the warranty.
  10. You can buy them on the Klipsch website. I don't know if we do international though.
  11. Michael, You do have a lot of friends here. We got yer back! It was fun being your uber roadie for the summer. I hope you do well with the live sound gig. Remember...GO big or stay home and use lots of level loading ramps with wheels on everything. Keep on rockin!
  12. Thanks for the forum sites. I like the sigforum now that I am a Sig addict. I guess that is better than being a Glockhead.
  13. Then maybe we need to use the word "Declucked" [] I gotta go fire it again to see if I am missing something. Maybe the slide wasn't all the way forward.
  14. Congrats on the job Steve... Sorry you didn't end up closer to Indy so we could hang out but Dallas is a good town to live in. You got some real advantages living in Texas these days. The people are the best. Free spirited and open minded.
  15. Well I took the plunge yesterday a noon and picked it up. Got into a little discussion about the coming revolution with the salesman in the store. His comments were that it was coming sooner than later. I think he just wanted to sell more guns. You don't need to comment on this to keep the thread open but you can PM me for an opinion. Shot it last night at the range. It shoots right where I point it. Much more accurate than my XD9. Once or twice the gun didn't fire, but I think it was the cock / decock sequence that I was using. I have to figure that out what I did. I think I was releasing the slide to holster after unloading the mag. Once reloading I experimented with decocking again and recocking just the hammer. That may have been the issue because I had to rack the slide to set it to fire. This ejected a live round out of the chamber of course. How would most people carry this piece if one was thinking of doing so? Chambered but not cocked? Chambered and cocked if there is a strap on the holster holding the hammer? Or super safe... chamber empty? After firing the gun was sweating oil out all the pores. The previous owner must have kept it very wet. Or is that the recommended practice?
  16. Thanks Win... Yeah I have been reading up a lot on the P6. It comes highly recommended. Biggest complaints are that it is a 8 + 1 stack, expensive mags, trigger is stiff and won't feed all SJHP's bullets such as the Hydroshocks. 5% FTF according to one guy on THEHIGHROAD.com. I fell in lust with it after I held it and stuck it in my pants. Now that doesn't sound right to some of you, but the pistol grip felt like an extension of your arm and the frame including levers are real flat so it should carry as well if not better than my XD9sc. Evidently the pull on the trigger is like 24 pounds with the original spring. That must be what you call a safety. You gotta squeeze it hard to get a round off. I think I am going to pick it up at the store if it is still there tomorrow. I don't think you can complain about a $400 Sig. I believe you Win, when you say that the HK USP is a winner also. I hear a lot of good things about them. So I will have to try one out. I still can't believe I walked away from the Kimbers yesterday... Maybe I am maturing... Naaaaaaaa...
  17. Well as some of you know I have funny money burning a hole in my pocket. A rare thing these days. I actually went to a gun show this weekend and didn't buy anything... Can you believe it? Well okay I bought a Buck knife that had been confiscated from some poor bastard by the ATF for $13. I even picked up a used Kimber Target that was priced at $850. (Now I am starting to feel like an idiot because I may never see that deal again. It was even a partial nickel!!) So anyhow, my wife was giving me the 20 questions of "What did you buy" because she wasn't believing that I got just a knife. She did mention that I already had a knife. I just looked at her like don't you know me by now? Some may get this odd rambling of my mind but I am getting to the topic. --> I also found a Sig Sauer P6 which had come from the German MP sale. (A bunch went out at $300 a while ago) They wanted $390, but I didn't buy it because it was the first place I went to. (I always say set if free...if it comes back it is yours) So has anyone had an experience with P6's? What advantages would there be for spending twice as much on a P226 besides the trigger adjustments? Win? Andy? Anyone?
