  1. I use my RF 7IIs for two channel only and am quite happy driving them with Bel Canto M300 mono blocks. The Bel Cantos are reputed to have a "tube like sound". All I know is that I have a nice sounding combination. cubdog
  2. Beta, obviously I am very happy using RF7 IIs for my 2 channel system. I have in the past used Dahlquist DQ10, DQ30s, JBL L96 and L112, Cornwalls and other nice speakers for my 2 channel setup. The 7s aren't going anywhere soon. I remain baffled as to their lack of popularity aside from HT use. cubdog
  3. Good question. I'm just happy the dark veneer got used. cubdog
  4. Danes are great! We're on our third one. cubdog
  5. I owned 88 Cornwalls for about 5 years. I replaced them with RF7IIs this year. They are only used for 2 channel. Personally I would never go back to the Cornwalls. To my ear the 7s have a richer smoother sound than the Cornwalls. The bass is less pronounced but I think a bit tighter, a little more snap. I don't hear alot of difference in their imaging, actually my CF3s image better than either the Cornwalls or RF7IIs. As I stated in another thread I'm amazed more people don't use RF7IIs in their 2 channel system. cubdog
  6. Predictable and blah. I only watched as I was a guest and didn't want to be rude. cubdog
  7. Moray, I have not done any more comparisons since our last correspondence. If my back ever improves I hope to do some in depth listening of the CF3, version 2, and the RF7IIs on my Bel Canto system. It is impossible for me to draw any conclusions with my current setups being vastly different. cubdog
  8. I do, a Mirage BP150. I don't think they need a sub but I have an extra one so why not. cubdog
  9. 90 wpc will be plenty of power in my opinion. I would go with four KG4s an appropriate center and definately a sub for movies. Pretty simple and it will sound great. cubdog
  10. I find it hard to believe that no one else uses RF7 IIs in a two channel system. I enjoy them much more than I did my Cornwalls or KG4s. Curious. cubdog
  11. My grills have never been out of the plastic bag they came in. The speakers look great naked. cubdog
  12. Good luck with your search. Something will turn up in time. cubdog
  13. I'm happy with my amps. I just wanted to know who else is using RF7 IIs in a 2 channel system. cubdog
  14. They're in this thread somewhere I believe. cubdog
  15. Who else uses their RF7 IIs for a dedicated 2 channel setup? What amp are you using to drive them? It seems most people like them as HT speakers. My HT consists of four CF3 some I'm not losing out on much there. cubdog
  16. I'm catching up on this thread. Count me among those who prefer the B-stock cherry color. Mine have a deep warm redish brown color. For $1300 off retail I couldn't be happier. cubdog
  17. It' s just horrible. Someone should be fired. cubdog
  18. Very nice. I love the natural color of hickory. cubdog
  19. I love the dark cherry. I wonder how many of these B-stock speaker were produced? cubdog
  20. On closer examination I think you are right. My speakers are difinately darker red. I'm surprized I hadn't noticed before, Oddly, the darker color is closer to what a good aged cherry typically looks like. I have a number of pieces of cherry furniture and they all have a dark rich patina. cubdog
  21. My RF7IIs are B-stock. I was told by the authorized seller it was due to the veneer as well. They are to my eye spotless. I don't even see a differnce in color. At a savings of around $1300.00 it's a no brainer. cubdog
  22. My guess is that your biggest problem is a lack of room treatments. Get some artwork or something on your walls. It just looks like any speaker will sound bright in your room. cubdog
  23. I tried one and thought it was ok. A good product for the price. Ultimately I went with Bel Canto but we are talking alot more money. I wouldn't mine having another Emo for my computer system. cubdog
