  1. I think it sounds like way too much work. I think your best solution is just shipping the sub my way.
  2. Heres a little factoid. West Ham Uniteds hooligan gang from the 60s is actually made up of multi-cultural working class skinheads(anti-racist). They still continue on to this day. Unfortunatly they are also who the Northern Hammer Skins here in America copied their name from who happen to be a very militant white power street gang which happens to be one the largest hate organizations in the world at this present time. West Ham has addressed this openly in the media and ridiculed the racist skinheads resulting in violent clashes between West Ham skins and Hammer Skins. If you like this movie you may also like "16 years of Alcohol". Not as action packed but a good movie.
  3. You probably wont believe this but I was living in Ft.Lauderdale at the time of filming. A buddy of mine is pretty artsy and said they were interviewing for nazi skinheads for the movie. Me and about 5 of my friends(all above 6'2" and two hundred pounds, tattooed, and bald heads) went down and auditioned. I got a call back as did one of my friends and we got the part. It was to pay 4000 and require two weeks of our time. Unfortunatly I could not get the time off work without losing my job. He did and is in the movie but I am not sure how since I have not seen it. I will let you know which guy he is when I see it. And, even worse I ended up quitting the job and moving back to Michigan 2 months later. Oh well, maybe the sequel.
  4. Sorry but I must put my two cents into the pot which may not even be worth that. But this does sound like kindergarden drama. If you dont like the forum leave. Dont pick up your toys and make a show of it. We are all adults here and I would like to think that we can handle a little bit of cyber harassment with out getting our cyber feelings hurt. When it all comes down to it; who really cares what anyone says. Its the internet for the love of God. If you want to feel appreciated go buy a homeless guy a meal and I am sure he will agree with everything you say and you may have all the happiness you seek from a forum.
  5. Trust that I am more than eager to get the Bose out of my system. Unfortunatly I have shelled all my financial means buying the klipsch products and picked up the Bose for CHEAP on Craigs list. I was looking for a good pair of Rf-7s, and was going to rotate everything back one spot but I have been informed that the money needs to go towards an engagement ring. Which is not an upset at all. I have a beautiful girlfriend which happens to be in medical school. So, actually in the long run it may be an upgrade to K-horns!!!
  6. Being an electrician I can say that voltage drop for current if you figure it out breaks down to if you are under 100ft.#12 is great. If you go over a 100ft. you should upgrade to #10. Not many people with 100ft. runs for their home theater.
  7. Well, if I have to think of one band that started a revolution I would have to say The Sex-Pistols. They started a counter culture that still rages today and has influenced many of todays singers. Of course, I am partial to this kind of music.
  8. From what I gather I think I will just put the money away for a 7 channel amp. My goal is to get a 7 channel bridgeable amp and bridge 4 channels for my mains and use my receiver for my two back channels. With that upgrade I plan on picking up a set of rf-7s and moving my rf-82s to the surround spot. Of course this is pending money and future wifes approval. Thanks for the input.
  9. I am looking to help my rf-82s with some extra power. I have run across a Denon 2 channel amp that is 80wpc. My receiver is already claiming 110. Would this be an upgrade since I hear amps have a better power source and make the speaker sound better than a receiver could? Speaking of a Yamaha reciever.
  10. Never thought so hard about robbing a bank in my life. Very Nice!
  11. I must agree. This one left me wanting more acting and less special effects. I just watched "The Green Street Hooligans" which I dont remember ever making it to the theaters but its one heck of a good flick. Check it out. Another good sleeper dvd.
  12. I checked what you said and yes with 7.1 Channel my lfe channel does output to the sub nomatter what the speaker setting is. If I switch over to listening to cd's in two channel stereo it will not output to my sub unless I have my speakers set to small or if I want to have my speakers set to Large I must set my bass out to both to get my sub to work. Since if I set my speakers to large and crank my receiver to full blast it just shuts off completely(must be a safety feature). So, I guess I will have to stick with the mains set to small for cds. When using multi-channel my sub works nomatter what. I do have the 5860(best buy model number) which I believe is the same as the 5989 or something. Its the lowest end 7.1 Yamaha makes. Maybe its a feature I surrendered with the lower cost. I do only have my preout going to the left in on the sub since I only have one channel out on my receiver. Could that have something to do with it? Should I buy a Y adapter for the sub connection so Left and Right are receiving the signal?
  13. One thing I have noticed about my receiver is that if I set it to two channel stereo is that if I set the speakers to Large it does not use the sub. So, I have to set the mains to small in order to have my sub handle the bass. Is there anyway around this. I would love to be able to use both and just have the sub handle the lows.
  14. I have a yamaha receiver 7.1 110watts per channel. No amp as of yet. I just purchased my set up which consists of RF-82 mains, RS-42 surrounds, RC-62 center channel, and a RW-12D sub. My room is 11 by 17 with my seating about 6 foot from the back wall. I have a drop ceiling which is about 6'6" high.Where do you recommend positoning and how do you recommend me setting up my sub crossover and receiver crossover? How about the setting of the mains and receivers as proportion to large or shared handling of the lfe signal? I am also using an old pair of Bose 301s for my rears temporarily till I can afford to replace with Klipsch speakers. Any ideas to get me started?
  15. Well, after all the reading I went with the Rf-82s and the matching center and surrounds to match. I went new because I like the idea of having a 5 year warranty. I am completely happy. My 11 by 17 room with a drop ceiling snows when I crank up the receiver. Ill have to try setting the lfe output to both like someone recommended. I dont have alot of extra room so the Reference won out. Thanks for the advice.
  16. I have a tile ceiling and whenever I turn the volume up it is cause for dusting tile dust off my entire room. Not to mention unless you have very high ceilings you will lose a good 4 inches of head room. If you are worried about getting cables across run a piece of 1" pvc pipe through the wall. Or, you can build a small chase. Its all a preference, but I would go with drywall. This is not a professional sound guys opinion but I am a tradesmen which has finished more than one basement.
  17. Thanks for the advice. One of the reasons I am sticking with reference is I at the moment I only have a Yamaha 7.1 channel with 110 watts per channel and I wont be getting an amp for quite a while so with the heritage Id be seriously under powered wouldnt I? What kind of speakers do you recommend for the rear channels. Im not purchasing them yet but what do you recommend? Bookshelf or another set of surrounds?
  18. I have but for the price I really cant touch new. I am presently in college so I am budgeted. I will one day move up to the heritage series once I purchase a house. But, for now I want to purchase new. I was originally looking into the synergy III line at bestbuy but after stopping into a audio/video store I decided on the reference series.
  19. Let me also mention that my room is 11 by 17 and my primary motive is rock-n-roll and movies.
  20. I have about 2200 dollars and I am have decided on the rf-82 mains, rs42 surround, rc-62 center, and the rw-12d sub. I have looked online for months till my fingers are bleeding. Whats your opinions on the choice for the price range?
