Now that you say that, the Type A is exactly what I have in there now. I am not liking the way it sounds; can't get any serious bass, and the mids and highs are just so-so. The network was built by a reputable member of this Forum. Not sure of the motor-run capacitors, but he said he prefers them. For the mid cap it is a motor-run 3uF paralleled with a 10uF Sprague. I know, I know, I should contact him! Rick

For 78 Khorns with Crites tweeters...do I keep the Zener network? Need to build a basic AA from parts I have. Rick

One dollar! Each

Good to know, both points... Rick

I'd settle for hand-made; when can you start? Rick

They use pegs to attach.

Scored a mint pair but alas no grills. Rick

The KLF-30 is a 3-way, so that automatically gets my vote! Disclaimer: I have heard neither. Rick

Excellent, Dave. May stop for a visit on the way to Hope and Nashville (AR) in May. Rick

Yes, was just trying to clarify @USNRET's dilemma with different terminal cups on HII.
-
H1 also removable back 👍
-
Didn't all H1 have a terminal strip on the back? Some early HIIs did have the round cup.
-
Klipsch website indicates the kit is available, and I found a PDF with parts list and instructions. I wondered what's the deal with the terminal cup until I saw muel's post above. Price was not mentioned so I will make a phone call for that. http://support.klipschgroupinc.com/file.php?key=4JZUVTt-PqXuPlOwX46YXlXCMpUgyCeM&expires=1516838400&signature=5f6e5c24d19a0c42fdf5e73964d237b16d4ef6a5 Rick

You are right, ODS123; improper description on my part. I should clarify; they were taken out of the box but they had never been connected. Someone please give me a price for these thirty-year old, near NOS, dusty but otherwise very good shape, tested and working, 1986 HIIs with a TOUGH finish. That's all I'm asking....
-
Sorry fellas, a decent search does not reveal if the conversion kit is still available from Klipsch. I know, I know, you're going to tell me to call them. Rick
-
Sorry I just now saw your reply. PM me if you need more info on the stands. Rick

Exact same condition Walnut Oiled vs dull-black painted, textured, whatever you call it...
-
Sure, I agree, original has value. But if a speaker costs less when it comes off the line, then shouldn't it be noted and priced accordingly at time of sale?
-
And as you say, they are an excellent candidate for a nice veneer job.
-
Thanks for that. These speakers are otherwise NOS, and that's pretty cool! Rick
-
Does anyone else have a comment on the lack-luster finish of these models, and most significantly, does the reduced factory cost result in a reduced resell cost? Rick

The picture attached above are Cornwalls from another ad. The HIIs that I saw are definitely HII BB, 1986 model. Here is a pic of them, although they are very dusty.
-
What about resell value? Should it hold the cost down for resell vs, say a Walnut Oiled? Rick
-
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I got to see up close a pair of 1986 HII BB, and am not at all impressed with the finish. It looks cheap, tacky, cheap. These speakers are NOS, so I know it is the original finish. There is also a pair of Cornwalls on CL, and a picture of those (attached) indicate the same finish. I am really quite startled at the low-grade appearance. Any thoughts? Rick
