  1. When I cut and paste that link into my browser it pops right up.
  2. Hmmm. I have to go to bed, but here is what I think he is using: http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=58438&sessionID={A2EEB9D0-0CF4-400E-8AB2-A0496A2DE4FA} Good luck. Out of my realm.

  4. The RC-3's are discontinued. If you have access to 2 that may be the way to go. IMO They are a better speaker than the RB-25. It also depends on how much room you have behind you to put speakers in a 7 channel configuration. {edit: in a narrower configuration I would opt for 2 bookshelf speakers such as the RB-5's (discontinued, but excellent) or the RB-75's to replace your side surrounds and move them to the back}
  5. I have been watching this DVD several days in a row. FYI: I got this DVD used at Hastings for $8.99.(They had approximately 20 of them) I am not a huge Eagles fan but enjoyed "Hell Freezes over." I like this one even better and for the price it was a steal!
  6. Where would the RC-25 go? If you are saying with the RC-3 as rears, I would opt for the 2 RB-25's.
  7. LOL!!!That's the picture, but not the pair I remember I guess my imagination was running away with me.

Larry ---------------- I realize that we are talking about music, but as far as ANOTHER body of work in a 10 year period; How about 1880 (1882 actually) - 1890. Vincent Van Gogh painted masterpieces that set Records in the Art World today
  9. Hmmmm. Weird. That also happened to a thread entitled "Best picture of a Khorn," (or something like that) which was also deleted today. It was a wonderful pair and I had to agree. I don't understand why THAT one was gone...must be a forum snafu.

I mentioned it in a post today, but that thread seems to have been pulled from this forum. Part of the thread was about what might be happening in September with the Heritage line, there was some teasing about the secret, and maybe the secret got out and the thread was pulled - I don't know. I'd like to know what happened. ---------------- PAUL! What are you doing! Remember what happened at Roswell!!!!!! {edit: just kidding. Please don't make my thread become one of the "Disappeared." }

In other words, the sales person would be trying to trick him into buying bigger/better equipment that he might not need simply because the salesperson isn't using the same quality reference material. I think that was the point of the story but I could certainly be mistaken. D ---------------- Thanks D! That is EXACTLY what I was saying.

He told you to listen closely to a certain part of a scene he was demoing, and used the best possible material he had available. I should hope somebody will take the time to do that for me next time I am shopping for gear. ---------------- Sorry toddvj, I didn't see this or I would have responded sooner I brought 2 DVDs that I was familiar with to audition his speaker setup. After we played the 2 DVDs I brought and I commented that I liked his setup, but I think my Klipsch Reference series sounds better on movies he said "well let's try something else." He then proceeded to pull out the DTS demo disk and played the cut from "Chicago." He then said, "Listen to the separation of the 2 female vocals." I did, and he was right, they separated very well. I couldn't remember (not having seen the movie in a year and only watched it once) how it sounded on my HT.I told him that I had the movie and I would listen to it at home and see how my speakers measured up. (He didn't say at this point, the information you were so kind to give me at the beginning of this thread.) When I got home I put in my copy of "Chicago," and sure enough the separation wasn't as defined. The reason I say "tricked" is that if I wasn't savvy enough to explore this matter further, I may have taken that demo as an apples to apples comparison.

  14. BTW: If you don't own the RS-35's already I would spend the extra money to upgrade the center channel to the RC-7, buy the RF-5's (or better yet the RF-7's)for the front, move the RF-35's to the side, and put the RC-3 to the back in a 6.1 configuration.
  15. ---------------- On 7/25/2005 2:29:36 PM davidramp wrote: Can anyone advise please. I have RF35 for main and RC3II for center. My Bose surrounds are what I upgraded from and kept them. I was wondering if it would be better to use RF35 for rear instead and buy RF5 for front main and RS35 for rear back. Would I also have to upgrade my center. ---------------- Welcome to the forum Davidramp. If I understand you correctly, you are currently using the RF-35's as mains and RS-35's as side surrounds. If this is the case and are wanting to upgrade your fronts to RF-5's and move the RF-35's to side surrounds and the RS-35 to rear surrounds in a 7.1 configuration--I would say go for it. I am a fan of towers all of the way around. You will have to adjust the gain to your RC-3, but IMHO, it will sound awesome.
  16. If you do bi-amp the 3805, please post your results.

To answer your question I have the sub's crossover disabled and just use the Denon's crossover setting. ---------------- Hmmm. I am the wrong person to answer that question. I don't listen to Redbook CD's anymore. I have a Denon 3910 DVD/SACD player and I just played "Wanted Dead or alive," on the Bon Jovi SACD, "This Left feels Right," and the DVD-A, "The Best of REM," and the song "E-bow the letter." Both of them in stereo sound good--IMHO, I think these 2 recordings would sound better in stereo with something like the Cornwalls or above in the Heritage line (although I don't know that for sure). That being said the footprint of the RF-7's appear to be half as big as the Cornwalls and was developed to be used in at least a 5 channel configuration with a subwooofer. It may be an apples to oranges comparison. Hopefully within the next two weeks I am going to be able to listen to a 5 channel Cornwall set up and I would be more qualified to answer this question. The material I just listened to on the RF-7 sounded good in stereo--But with multi-channel music and my size room I prefer the latter. I wanted to add my 2 cents because of my previous post, but realize it may not be relevant in your situation. BTW: I also set my crossover at 60 Hz for music (80 Hz for movies).
  18. I have the RB-75's connected to my Denon 3805 in a 5.1 configuration. I have the Denon 4802 R connected to my setup listed below. I agree with Frzninvt about setting them to Large. In fact I have all of my speakers set to "Large." I also run my set up with the LFE selected to "both mains + sub." To my ear it gives better imaging. Are you setting the crossover in the Denon or on the SVS?
  19. ---------------- On 7/25/2005 10:28:09 AM Frzninvt wrote: ... Doesn't the Denon 3805 have only one pair of main speaker outputs? I assume that you are only using the receiver for two channel operation then if you are going to use another pair of speaker outputs (i.e. Rear, Rear Surround) to accomplish this. I guess it would be worth a try though. ---------------- The Denon 3805 is a 7 channel receiver. I didn't click on the link he provided, but I remember If you are running a 5.1 set up, you can redirect your other 2 channels using the rear (or "Multi-zone 2") configured to your mains for a bi-amp situation. If you do it vanderrg, let us know how it turns out.

  22. welcome to the forum el jopez. I am a fan of Denon receivers. They have a high current design and match well with Klipsch speakers. IMO, if you could find a used Denon 3803 you would be ecstatic for the price. If not then I would opt for the 3805. I have no experience with the 2805, so I can't give you an honest opinion. I have heard nothing but good things about HK receivers, but that would be one also to consider. Good Luck on your decision.
