  1. LMAO...Getech, you are such a tard. Macs are toys? My Emo is a toy? If it is then your stuff is junk too cause MY MPS1 is a Sunfire Grand IV platform (improved my EMO) . I doubt anyone here will ever buy your wares. Where is that Iggy button?
  2. Cool setup, enjoy! Oppo stuff is awesome!
  3. LOL, no probs, looks comfy! I want to see the buisness end when you get set up... Chris
  4. I second that, the RC64 is one formiddable center. I started with the 62 which was awesome but the 64 is in another leauge IMO. Chris
  5. Jon, I doubt it very much. I was thinking the same thing but i got the DMC1 for $1400 because I also bought the MPS1..so for $200 I thought why not, it matches the MPS1 and I understand its quite the remote. Me thinks we will both be happy! Chris
  6. dexter, I am in the same boat as you, 7 ch pre/pro with 5 ch amp(MPS1) although I have the ability to add 2 more channels if I wish. Personally it doesn't bother me as so few flicks have true 6.1 anyway and I never use the fake surround modes I always use DD or DTS standard modes. Once we start getting true lossless 7.1 soundtracks on BR or whatever I will get my last 2 channels. The DMC1 will use your surrounds as phantom rears when you tell it you have no rear surrounds. I am far more concerned with the increase in SQ in movies and especially music, Dan figures we will be blown away...can't wait. As far as an amp for $200...used or a PA amp like a Crown or such although I wouldn't go that route, not with a fine pre/pro anyway. Did you look at the EMO LPA1 125 x7 ch for $499?.(.lol.ok forget that I see you have a Sunfire. Perhaps 2 Emo monoblocs at $189 each though?) Chris
  7. Hey falcon 20...you picked up some 83's?...let us know...how much you looooove them..hehe Chris
  8. That movie would be Full Metal Jacket I believe. Chris
  9. Hey dexter, congrats to you my friend, maybe we can start an Emotiva owners club..lol. Fish, can we sign you up? Spoke to Dan today too, what a really personable genuine nice guy. How many presidents actually pick up the phone and chat about their product, life experience etc..we had a good ole chat for about 15 minutes. dexter, make sure you keep us informed of your new gear. Chris.
  10. Hi there Roc, I must say congats on an outstanding sound system, those Macs are to die for! Would love to have a listen to that setup in full song, you must be very happy. Regards, Chris
  11. Mike, that thing looks awesome!...dumb question...is that for your car or are you building one for your system? Chris
  12. Thanks guys, it will be my first set of seperates and a look at the higherend stuff (quality wise) for me. Should be alot of fun and a great adventure for me personally. You can rest assured a few pics of that gorgeous "cobalt" blue faceplate all lit up and my impressions will be posted once I get it. I'm thinking 10 days if its the same time enroute as my MPS1. Over at 123.com forums they call the pair the "Big Dogs"...lol Regards, Chris.
  13. Hi Dexter, no, its a good thing to think about, but they have been around for about 3 years now, and are in the middle of launching new products as we speak with lots more to come over the next year. I am so impressed with their stuff that after speaking to Lonnie this aft, in which case he stated that the DMC1 is an awesome piece with Burr-Brown 192/24 DACs and a top of the line Motorola processor he figured it will sound way better than the Yam, I should hope so!...lol. But I just wanted to hear them say so..hehe. Bottom line, I pulled the trigger...new DMC1 enroute from Nashville! Chris
  14. dexter, hi there, I am in a similar situation with a Yammy 2500 as pre/pro and it sounds very good with most material. I am planning on getting the DMC 1 as well and am hoping it will sound alot better especially with CD's. I am going to call and ask Lonnie what he thinks, besides with their 30 day moneyback warranty its worth a try for me anyway. From what i gather they use "audiophile" grade DACS and the processor is supposed to be awesome. If you get yours first be sure to post your thoughts please. Chris ps..just called Emo and am waiting for Lonnie to call back, he is at the warehouse. will advise.
  15. Hey Dude, I have the same component setup as you, see my signature. Klipsch recommends a minimum wpc for whatever your speakers RMS rating is which in your case is 125wpc. So, the IPS1 would work for you without a doubt. Two things though, first off balanced cables are the way to go if you can swing it, with a much lower sound floor and secondly more power is always better. If cost is an issue , do what I did and get 5 channels to start off or 6 for that matter, and add later as needed. If I was going to add a DMC1 or 2 which I am, I would go MPS1 for the balanced cables alone. That combo is going to friggin rock. BTW, you will love the Emotiva stuff, first rate build quality and the sound is excellent. I really noticed a big difference in the SQ from the RX-V2500 amp section. I believe this is due to the RF83' tendency to have rather large impedance swings especially downward as far as 2.8 ohms which of course very few AVR's can handle with any stability especially when driven hard.. The Mps1 on the other hand is completely stable into 2 ohms and has unlimited power reserves for my purposes anyway. Chris
  16. Hey Steve, thanks for the input. I actually also have Keb Mo and all of Nora' discs, sound great.
  17. I would think there would be a dealer in the UK but didn't see any listed, looks like you may have to take a trip to France or Holland! Send an email to Klipsch about UK dealers? Chris
  18. Yup, have to add to the me too. 23 years in April for us, seems like yesterday. Got pretty darn lucky didn't we guys? Supports me and my HT/HiFi addiction and actually enjoys it to some degree, although she doesn't lie in bed scheming on what gear to get next and how to do it or pay for it. Chris
  19. When you are on the road for 4 days and all you want to do is get home, sit down, fire up the gear, get that hot transformer smell happening, put on one of your fav discs, crank her up and sit back, relax and enjoy the Klipsch! Chris
  20. Bobby. congrats! Welcome to the madness. Soooo, lets hear what you think? Hope you tried some really good movies on it or Eagles HFO concert really gives the center a good workout. Chris
  21. Sfogg , thats a very good point. I for one would not want to go that route because of SQ issues which is super important to me as this is my listening room also. Chris
  22. Inventor, have a looksee at the Emotiva amps pre/pro stuff, some really inexpensive but excellent quality components available which will really bring your system to life.
  23. Da-Lite also make accoustic transparent screens, Indyklipsch knows a dealer in Indy, suggest you pm him for info. Not sure what you are looking for in a PJ Inventor, suggest you start with looking at PJcentrals reviews and or top PJ'. Chris
  24. Inventor, you can get screen fabric which allows speakers to be placed behind the screen, it is perforated but I'm sure it will cost more, not sure how much. I would go 720p/1080i...they do both actually. but better pq usually from PJ native resolution which is in most cases 720p. Chris
  25. Is this method used with a disc such as DVE or the AVR internal pink noise? I always used the internal and set it at 75db as the ref volume always goes to 0db when you select test tone. Supposedly this avr is THX certified. I tried setting levels with DVE at 85db at ref of 0db but it wouldn't even go that high! Must be me. Chris
