  1. Prayer is very important...for Dean, his family and his Doctors. Thanks for letting us know. Michael
  2. JBryan, I have been really scratching my head on this. I was looking for something that I did not have to attach to the shelving as it may be difficult to remove, leave holes, mar it in anyway, etc. After walking through Home Depot, Lowes and Walmart I came upon this idea. During the swimming pool months (very seasonal) Walmart sells individually in a large box something called Funnoodles. You may have seen them. They are 5 feet long and 2.5 inches in diameter. Placing them behind the speakers and against the wall positions the records about 1.5 inches from the front. Although, I would prefer the records a little closer to the front, I can deal with 1.5 inches in order for the records to look organized and to not having a record slide to the back against the wall and be missed. The Funnoodles were $1.68 each. You can make 4 record stoppers from each Funnoodle, I cut mine 13 and 1/8 inch long. They are of medium hardness and come in 4 colors. Wrinkles

    Act of Valor

Awesome movie. The weaponry on the gunboats was amazing. You gotta give these Navy Seals alot of respect. They are vailable to do this every day. I am glad they are American.
  4. Chris, How did the repairs go? What days are going to work for you now? Any changes? Mike
  5. It does look really nice. Wish I lived closer. Cleburne , 30 minutes south of Fort Worth
  6. What about the Yamaha CR "Natural Sound" series? Or the Harman Kardon HK series with the dual power transformers? Are parts for these drying up?
  7. My oldest daughter wants to play vinyl. Way to go girl !!! I am refurbishing a Technics Turntable SL-23 for her now with a Shure M97XE cartridge. I have an inefficient set of Spendor LS3/5A on 24 inch stands for her. They are 84 db/watt. So, I need some power, not grunches of power, maybe 35 to 55 watts per chnnel I think. I have not had a receiver in 20 years, so I am kinda out of touch with the receiver world. She lives in a small apartment in NYC, hence the Spendors fitting in well with her situation. She is not opposed to an AudioVideoReceiver, but it has to have a good phono section. She watches little to no TV. Are there some good receivers that are not so rare, that they come up for sale more often that once a year? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou Wrinkles
  8. JBryan, Do you have a LOWES part number for these. From the LOWES catalog pics I cannot determine what you used. Thanks, Wrinkles
  9. Wow, I really appreciate all the information. I feel better about considering them and probably pick some up this weekend. During the build process do you add glue to the dowels or is this unnecessary? Anytime I see dowels I just want to add glue. The picture instructions do not show glue. Thanks Again.
  10. Tigerwoodkhorns, What IKEA record shelf unit did you end up getting? AND what additional bracing effects did you add to it? I am on the verge of making a decision to get one, but maybe a larger one OR two of the 1/2 units and stand them up sisde by side. Actually anyone can chime in on these units. Thanks,
  11. Mustang Guy, For the 3M Super77, do you spray it on both the label and the cloth OR just the label?
  12. Oldtimer, More info.. From a Spendor website, the grill cloth is made up of mono filament plastic weaved together and is called Tagon. It is not made anymore. The grill material is resistant to oil, water, dirt. The tackiness or stretchiness of the glue remnant reminds me of the adhesive glue you put on the back of kitchen counter type laminant. Thanks for your ideas.
  13. Those more experienced than me... A label came off the nylon grill cover cloth of my Spendor LS3/5A. The Spendor label is aluminum 1/2 inch by 1 inch rectangular shape. It is maybe 1/32 inch in thickness at most. Old glue has a dried elasticity to it, but no stickiness. I was oiling the Rosewood cabinets when the rag snagged it. Suggestions on glue type? Thanks.
  14. Chris, Is the Klipsch Jubilee Extravaganza still on for the 4th of February? If so, then count me in and I'll be bringing an audio buddy. I might be bringing an old (1961?) Scott Control Center Preamp Model 122 that Craig at NOSValve rebuilt in summer of 2009. Mike
  15. but ...the outcome would have been the same. After I heard the Jubilees I realized I had never ever heard anything better or even close. I only purchased the K402 upper horns for my LaScalas. Every time I play music through them I am awed. I hope you find them as wonderful as most everyone else who has heard the Jubilee system does.
  16. Chris, The February 4th date I would choose. But any Saturday would be great. [] Michael
  17. I did not know Stilettos were so expensive. [] Oh, was I not supposed to say anything[^o)]
  18. When I worked at a lumber yard that had a constant rat infestation, the owner mixed 50% flour with 50% cement and placed the mixture where the rats could get to it but in a place where the 5 big German Shepherds that guarded the lumber yard could not. All the rats eventually turned to stone. I do not know if a cat would eat it.
  19. Why would anyone read war stories? Because unsung heroes are everywhere. And they did what they had to do to survive. I requested this book as a gift and received it this year. Great stories. Easy Read. Highly recommended. My Thanks go to Tom Adams for recommending it.
  20. Coytee or Chris, There is another EV Dx38 setup sheet titled "LaScala (1 or 2) LF with K402 & K69" v1.0 (3/9/2008). The values are different than the one just posted. I was handed this one from Chris. My attempts to upload were hindered by dialup and were never successful. I do not know if these were meant to be used on a LaScala side by side with the Jubilee or as standalone settings. Sorry I could not post them. Could one you guys post it? Thanks.
  21. I am using the K402 upper horn/K69 driver on top of a LaScala, so I believe the all my settings will be different. So I will not post them. OK, I just reread your post. On your JubScala, the DX38 settings will differ for the upper horn driver used. Please post which driver you have on the K402. Did you have the K69 or the TAD4002 or ? installed on the K402 upper horn?
