    Sub for music

good question. Not much info in the manual but I think it's rated at 325 watts output. Plenty for my room. I tell you the WAF was less than 0 when she saw it but I'm gonna be able to keep it[] I think it looks pretty good myself..and the sound...

    Sub for music

I picked up a SVS 25-31PCI yesterday locally and it pairs very well with the Heresys so the search ended successfully[<)]

    Sub for music

I waffled and the Valor is gone. I found a SVS 20-39 PCI locally os no shipping. Any thoughts on this one?

    Sub for music

There's a guy who has an Epik Valor audiogon for around the same price-not local but asking less so shipping evens it out. Which one is a better match, IYO?

    Sub for music

thanks for the thoughful reply. How difficult are kit subs to assemble and what tools do you need? I'm not too handy but could get help.
  7. Trolling for some thoughts about a sub for my 2 channel setup-Hereys,Jolida cd player, 1010 Yamaha integrated used in class A mode (but may go to tubes in the near future). Sub will have to go against a wall in between the stereo cabinet and one of the speakers or else no WAF. Room is 22 X 16. I listen to rock, jazz, and some classical so a sub that can handle all these types seems to be the way to go. Used is ok and hope to keep the price at $700 or less. Thanks
  8. I will be very interested in the forthcoming oppo blu ray.
  9. I wondered why Klipsch and ML subs weren't included as they were in the pricerange listed.
  10. what doeseveryone think about this posting? Would you use it in picking a sub? http://www.tweakcityaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11
  11. Well, I moved some wires around and that seems to have solved the problem (for now). thanks everyone!
  12. Thanks. I use a Yammy663 as the HT receiver. I will check everything. The outlet is dedicated to the HT gear and I replaced it with an Acme audio outlet
  13. it is pretty close to the HT receiver but it has to stay where it is. I don't recall the hum was present when I first set all the components up.What should be grounded-receiver, sub, both?
  14. This started recently. What could be causing it? What are remedies?
  15. My FIOS box has a setting for surround so I changed it from stereo. Good idea or should I set it back and leave it up to the receiver Yammy 663?
  16. If you email Oppo, they will put you on a list for updates, etc for the release of the83
  17. Let me jump in here as I bothered HarryB enough and ask how many watts per channel do I really need????. I listen to rock jazz and some classical with Heresy Is that I recently had upgraded by ChrisM to much sonic benefit. I'm currently running a Jolida cd player with a 30 year old Yamaha integrated amp that has 100 watts per channel across the bandwidth. It supplies plenty of power. Occasionally I turn it up when I'm alone but mostly regular volume levels.I realize tube watts are different and I don't need as much but how many will be enough??? I appreciate all the thoughts on different models. HarryB does not recommend Jolida amps but their HQ is only 30 minutes from here if I had problems. Is the rest of the group adverse to Jolida tube integrated amps as well??
  18. I, on the other hand, went the cheap route and got a 2.4ghtz transmitter at the shack for $15. It streams my wav files and internet radio just fine with no audible loss of SQ to these tired ears. It's barebones with none of the featuresa of the $300 squeezebox but does the trick for me.
  19. A board member recommended these two mods as well worth it. Still looking for a reputable company to perform these mods
  20. I'm looking for a integrated amp for my recently upgraded (munson) Heresys. Harry from this board and I have been trading emails and he, too, does not recommend Chinese integrated amps (I was considering a Jolida since I like my Jolida cd player). Would all this advice apply to my Heresys as well?
  21. I know about Underwood Wally; however I don't think his mods are worth the price. The Jolida I bought already had upgraded tubes and Underwood mods don't address the chip update and 96/124
  22. Board member HarryB was kind enough to exchange emails regarding this topic saying that Burr Brown chip updates as well as 96/124 are a good idea. He also said there is a compoany that board memebers have used but couldn't remember the name. Could anyone here who has been through the mod process let me know where to go? Thanks
  23. I love my Jolida100 cd player with my Klipsch..so much that I'm considering on one of their amps. Anyone here have Klipsch and Jolida amp combo for their system???
  24. Anone have a Jolida tube amp hooked up to Heresys? I bought a Jolida 100 cd player a few months ago and have been really pleased with its sound so thinking of adding one of their amps. popbumper just upgraded my Heresy 1s and I currently have a Carver true signature sub hooked into the receiver I'm using temporarily.
  25. thanks. He slept well last night and is doing fine
