  1. I was trying to time my vacation to catch the event since we are going just outside of Blue Ridge..so not to far away.....but we couldn't work it out until the last week of july......maybe next year...but my business is always busy in june and dead in july/august
  2. Boy did I screw the math up on that one!!!!! Sure glad I don't work in a hospital " Yes doctor, I gave him 10000mg grams of oxycodone, I don't know why he wont come out of the coma?"
  3. That's great!!!.... thats very close to 100 posts per day!!! my fingers hurt from thinking about that much typing[][][]
  4. oldtimer.....always on the ball!!!! [][][][][][][][][][]
  5. I find wrapping a wad of cotton around the end of a blunt Dremel tool and inserting into the ear canal has a two fold effect....the heat buildup melts the wax and the circular motion (Rub It) clears it away!!!
  6. If your looking for an automatic Esoteric sound has a used Tech. Sl 1400 for $95..... this guy is very reliable. http://www.esotericsound.com/UsedEquipment.htm
  7. Technics SL 1200 w/ shure cart. Trust me! BOMB proof, and it's the bomb.........I'm hard pressed to tell the difference between it and some $$$$$$ big money audiophile TT's.......in a year if you decide you don't like vinyl yo can sell it for 90% of your purchase price!!!!
  8. I use a mcintosh MCD7007 cd player with the mc2505 with no preamp and it is awesome!!! much better than with the MX112 pre in the line. the 7007 has line level variable outs so I can control the volume from it. The 2505 is what it is...a 35 year old entry level Mac for about $700 due to the nature of it's collectibility. Are there better amps out there ....hell yeah... but for the money and the nostalgia factor...big blue hypnotizing meters, you can't beat it.
  9. I've got Cornwall I's and heresy II's run them with my Mcintosh 2505 SS brilliant!!! then on my Sansui Au7900 and Au 11000....match made in heaven!!! Untill I find a Au-111 6L6GC.......I'll never leave the house!!!!
  10. Smashed stars And old fruit jars The candy *** guards with their fingers all charred Under the cover The protein summer Givin' a number In a weighed out sun Got an infection Ready for inspection The guts that glow Armor and shield Blaze through the fields Mighty directions With the devils peel Sanitized Rippin' the surf Right down to the foul earth They bathe to the cabins Lightin' their way Through the curious pathoms Suckin' your breath Down your legs Wishin' for a worlds With fresh cigarettes But now they bathe A tiresome grave ? ? ? frequency Punks gettin' shade .......Beck, Protein summer
  11. Me too,Mee tooo!!! I have the Sl 1210mg5 with a stanton681....and it's nothing short of brilliant !!! I love this tutntable.
  12. That was a classic episode!!!!! you must get sirius if you are a H S fan.
  13. I looked at the catalogue, probably would be sweet but, to rich for my blood.
  14. Underwood was the anomaly IMO...I don't watch the show but my wife does.........I walked through the den just when the Saiesha sp? girl did her duet with Seal, (not my favorite artist but talented)....Now here is a singer that made it to the final round and sounded soooooo horrible when singing with a pro...or was it that Seal just sounded that great in comparison. It was like listening to a great pair of fully tweeked Klipshhorns and then switching to a pair of kmart specials with blown drivers. I don't know how anyone can watch the show!!!!
  15. Tell her at least your not looking to "upgrade" Wives!!!!
  16. Heresy Industrial. See....my wife is right!
  17. I believe that refers to Heresy I's.....but I've been known to be wrong, just ask my wife.
  18. Well Anyone who says "SOMBODY SCREAMMMMMM" 30 times during a song must know what they are talking about [][][][][]
  19. I too am glad for this thread and a great forum on which to discuss topics such as this.........In my teen years I remember thinking that the 901's were the apex of hifi...and so did my peers. My favorite uncle had a pair and I still get very nostalgic about them..........many flavors to life, the kentucky derby wouldn't be much fun if only one horse was running. Set up properly I still think the 901's fill a niche and can be very enjoyable.........I prefer the klipsch sound.in most cases......but hey , i also like a nice pickled tongue on rye ....... Just my cup of tea.
  20. LOL......That was a good one...I almost spit my beer threw my nose..... Sorry If I was testy about the lowballing....caught me on a week when several forum members on Nikon photo forum tried to gang rape me on some lenses I had for sale to purposely drive down the price.........the mods actually suspended two of them because they were used resellers and had been warned before. I know this was not your case..................................So how's about a big hug???? to bury the Lascala[{]
  21. This is true.... Tell you what though.if you tweek them just right they are impressive for what they are..................Just about got my wife buttered up enough to sneek in some Klipschorns!!!....No really honey the Cornwalls just grew a little.
  22. The bose do have their applications though....There really is no APEX center of the soundstage...you can walk around the room with little discernible difference in sound quality......The Aplication that GLA was useing them for was to kinda fill in the holes .....I think the 901's would be great if you had alot of people at a party , or I would even try them as surrounds in an HT application.................Anyway MY Heresies are anything but "mere".[]
  23. Other Forum Member here.......In the application that they were used, they had their purpose. Hearing and Listening are very subjective....playing the 901's threw an extremely high quality rig, my impressions were at first good. But then playing the same source, in the same room with the same acoustics, and switching to Heresy II's, the difference was very apparent!! The Mid bass opened way up the highs were much more present and clear...wasn't a contest.
  24. I think that was PETER PUMA....HEEEEEEEEEEE
  25. Can't Find the pic of Foghorn and the nerdy chick, but one of my favorite quotes " Boy's about as sharp as a sack full o wet mice"
