  1. I'd be very interested in hearing how well these adapters work from anyone who gets them. Thanks, Tony
  2. Mike, Here is the website address. http://www.selenium.com.br/site2000/index.html Be sure to choose "english" in the upper left hand corner. Tony This message has been edited by Tony Reed on 09-25-2002 at 10:19 AM
  3. This is the adapter we need. Go to the Selenium website and you can take a look at it. Tony
  4. I just spoke to a rep at Selenium. He said Parts Express just started buying the ADF25-25 adapter(#264322). It's not on the website yet, so you have to order it by phone. Tony
  5. TBrennan, What is the website address for Selenium? I can't seem to find it. Thanks, Tony
  6. I just phoned Martin Sound... the adaptor I need (#1846) is no longer available. Any other sources out there? Thanks, Tony
  7. I can't seem to find the 1811 / ADF2523 in the pdf from Martin Sound. What am I doing wrong? I need a pair of these adaptors. Thanks, Tony
  8. My Altec 511B's are 3 bolt. They look factory. Tony This message has been edited by Tony Reed on 09-19-2002 at 12:00 PM
  9. What about using a 511 or 811 horn on top of this thing? Anybody think that would sound decent? Tony
  10. OK... How about suggestions as to what horn and driver would be a good compliment for this beast. I could go 2-way or 3-way. Suggestions, please. Tony
  11. Is there a specific horn for these things? I'm in the market for a pair of whatever fits these things? Thanks, Tony
  12. I purchased a pair of the JBL 4648A-8's some time ago. There are 5 bolts in the top of each cabinet. I seem to remember some discussion about what mounts to the top of these things. I can't find the thread, does anyone remember? Thanks, Tony
  13. The only speakers I've ever seen in PWK's home are his designs. They're all "stock"... no tweaks. Tony
  14. The two walnut K-Horns and Belle center are still there in PWK's living room. They have K55V mid drivers and AA balancing networks. There are other speakers in the house, but these were his babies. Tony
  15. Does anyone know what computer font comes the closest to the "klipsch" name in the company artwork? Tony This message has been edited by Tony Reed on 07-25-2002 at 10:39 AM
  16. There seems to be some debate about these speakers being "Heritage". Klipsch says they aren't. I own all 4 of these speakers and they come closer to that "Heritage" sound than any other. These speakers don't have a series name. I've been calling them the "Classic" line. Anyway... they are great speakers, very sought after. They were built just about the time that PWK was getting out of the business. There is also some debate about who designed them, PWK or the engineers at Klipsch. I know for a fact that PWK had a major hand in their design. They're in his house, and they wouldn't be there if they were designed by someone else. Tony
  17. I agree, the Quartet/Forte/Chorus line sounds more musical to my ear. I've had 30's for a while now, and I can't seem to get comfortable with the sound. Tony
  18. Another thing that floors me is when a BB member has absoulutely nothing positive to say about anything that has a Klipsch nameplate on it. Isn't this the Klipsch BB? If they don't like anything Klipsch, why are they here? I've vented enough, Tony
  19. Q-Man I have heard the University. I'm not making a comparsion. I'm simply stating that I think the LaScala is a good speaker that sounds good to my ear. Every speaker has trade-offs. I think the LaScala is a good compromise. Tony
  20. I disagree with John. The LaScala has a loyal following. IMO, the LaScala is a good speaker! Tony
  21. You made the right choice. Tony
  22. HDBR: I'm currently getting everything together to build Oiled Oak LaScala's. You just described almost verbatim how I plan to build mine. The only difference is, I plan to incorporate biscuit joinery for added strength. I've built LaScala's before, you really do learn a lot by building, rather than haveing someone describe the procedure to you. Someone's first pair is generally the "learning curve" pair. When you were at the factory, what was the order the panels were assembled? Thanks, Tony
