  1. Yes quite nice. I would like to put a big thanks out to DJK for his inspirational and helpful comments. You are a real class act, keep up the fine work. Craig
  2. I really like the Eliptrac with the B&C DE-85, I had the Faital and it was good 2-way but the B&C seems to have better clarity in the HF. Craig
  3. I have tried a few Carts, budget to mid priced. M97XE - decent great bang for the buck. Sumiko Blue Point original - Fantastic sound alot of cart for the $$$ Recently upgrade to Bluepoint special EVOIII Very similar to the Original, with better hf, really not worth the extra $$$ but good cart. Craig 73 Table Project RM5.1
  4. No question, I would go ALK CornscalaWall crossover. Its really a no brainer, adjustable mid and tweeter, constant inpedence and quality parts. Craig 73
  5. Very nice diplomatic comparison. Nice write up as well. Seems that you are pleased with the combination, I would certainly how so for the $$$$. I will be anxious to see how your Beyma's perform in comparison to the TAD's, as it is a much more reasonably priced driver to obtain. I have used the Mini DSP, its an impressive little unit, especially considering the cost. Craig 73
  6. Heli, The Jubilee crowd is among the toughest I have seen ever. There is no compromise, argument, or suggestions with this crowd, just tell them what they want to hear. Tell them the Jubilee with Roys setting and the K-402 is the greatest sounding best looking most wonderful thing on the planet, and they will agree with you. Anything less is sacrilege. I am serious, it a no win situation. Craig
  7. Justin, Nice description. I would have to agree, the Eliptrac / B&C combo is a step up from the Faital combo. (both good, just prefer the B&C) I wish I had gone over to hear your new Cornscala's, just been too busy. Dave tells me they sounded very good with the modified crossover. Craig 73
  8. I would think for the Jubilee, you would want to cross somewhere around 600hz. The Mini DSP has a limited amount of configurable EQ's, so you may want to address only the problem area's. I suspect 50-200hz. The HF using Daves horn and the Faital Pro is reasonably flat, wont need much if any EQ. Craig 73
  9. What gear do you have for taking measurements? Dayton mic and Tascam us122mkII work nicely. Craig 73
  10. The -1db spl shift is not the only consideration, adding series resistance in the circuit can also shift the crossover point depending on its location. By adding 1 ohm series resistance to the tweeter circuit in a 1st order network, you can effect the crossover point by several hundred Hz.
  11. Thats a tought question, but the best explanation I can give is the 4 woofer has quicker tighter bass. Dave You got that right! My quad bass rocks... The neighbors will confirm. My old Cornscala's sounded good, but the bass is bloated. The quad 10's are fast and accurate, that is why I chose them. Craig 73
  12. The four woofers I am using are the Dayton Pro-10's. I am not sure what the cabinet dimentions are, I had Dave build the cabs. Dave may still have the plans as well as the CNC file. Craig 73
  13. I have the DE-85TN, I was very surprised how much better it sounded than my previous 3-way setup. I had JBL 2426H with ALK Trachorns and JBl 2404 baby cheeks. On my 3-way playing fairly loud, I ran into occasional harshness, with the 2-way is never harsh. The 3-way was a touch brighter, but the 2-way overall sounds better. Craig 73
  14. I am sure the K-510 is a great horn, but has this setup been tested in chamber as a Cornscala or JubScala? Craig 73
  15. The K-510 is a cd horn, doesn't that require hf compensation? Are you running yours active? Craig 73
  16. I have Daves Eliptracs with the B&C drivers in my 2-ways, and they sound terrific. I am not sure how a small room would make a difference 2-way or 3-way, I suspect its just preference.
  17. Speaker looks great, hope I get a chance to hear them before Justin picks them up. Craig 73
  18. Really nice review, I also have the Eliptrac 400 but with the DE85TN drivers, sounds great-no fatigue. I really need to try the mini dsp, I have an ashley and behringer, Dave suggested I use the mini. More great amps for low $$$ is the Emotiva gear. Dave has several, very impressive sound. Craig 73
  19. I agree go 2-way but leave the tweeter as an option. Craig 73
