  1. It's on the list, but the list is long and not happening this year. I've got to get a new building up and an extension on the current one, but I'm not considering that while materials are through the roof.
  2. Welcome to the forum. Where are you located? Obviously check for a dealer that has both and depending on your location, Cory @Paducah Home Theater I believe has both of them and is a dealer, so I believe you would be best served to speak with him. He will treat you right and I know he had C4's and RF7's a few months ago. I have RF7's and Cornwall 2's, so that really wouldn't apply to the current models.
  3. I'm looking at extenders now, it's just not strong enough to stream HD and I'm sure that there would be issues with video for sure.
  4. That build is on the list for certain, after stopping by and hearing them.
  5. Me too, in the house, but I'm 50' away through a brick wall. Fine for general internet, but weak for solid streaming. (need to speak with your SIL) Not to get off subject, it's about weather or not there should be a specific category for such things.
  6. 1 more opinion, but you're going to get many. I played, and continue to play in the used market until I'm settled in for a couple reasons. 1. Doing 20 minutes worth of market research will tell you if you're paying a fair price. 2. You can buy beyond your budget, with plenty of people that continuously change out gear and take the hit on selling used to chase the dragon. 3. If you buy it right and don't think it's an improvement, just sell it, and many times the price for admission is shipping, and move on until you're happy with the upgrade. That said, try anything and everything with friends that it cost you nothing, prior to buying anything, so that you can A/B against your reference. I love my QSC's/Emotiva and Carvers, but I've traveled down many roads to end up with that statement, so don't drop your wallet along the way. My .02 worth.
  7. More like OMG, LOL She's good with it, as always, stuck a wad of cash in her hand for her trip to Jamaica, and told her that was from the discretionary audio fund that she knows is sacred. I'll get the real reaction when she sees them and tells me it's too loud. I have moved things around quite a bit between the basement, the shop and the main floor as to further confuse the reaction. LMAO. In the end, she's a great woman and knows I have a problem.
  8. She hasn't seen the new children yet, but she knows they exist. LOL
  9. It always does, but I've come to trust many of the reviews and opinions on this forum and for me, I would rather factor in the opinions and reviews on this forum, than trying to rely on outside reviews and opinions only. What lead me to post this is that I'm getting ready to lay down some dollars on equipment to get the shop set up to stream properly, but it's a dive into wifi extenders versus hard wiring options, stand alone DAC or streamer with a great DAC, or a media server build with specific PC cards to handle the task while trying to integrate Fire TV and Alexa (or comparable) for voice integrated selection of media. Trying to search the forum for these particular threads that may do a deep dive into some of these questions, is not bearing any fruit, and though many on here are doing these things, I'm sure there's a lot of members that have similar questions, and I would imagine that it's a growth category and deserves it's own header. IMHO, but hey, I could be wrong.
  10. I only have time because Denise is away. The LSI's sing very well for sure.
  11. 3 days of nonstop music and I still don't have anything playing in the shop. LOL I don't think I've ever been this long without music in my shop. Come hell or high water, there will be something playing tonight. I have a closing to do in an hour and after that, it's on.
  12. Are we past the time where we should have a separate section covering nothing but DAC's, Streaming Equipment/Streaming Services? We seem to have categories for everything else but the information for those items, seems to be scattered around. What say you?
  13. Not as pissed as i was dragging the trailer in the dark down the narrow mud road and losing complete cell signal. I did, however, laugh at it when I finally got there and looked at the mud from the front of the truck to the rear of the trailer.
  14. You have to admit, that by the third time, it was getting pretty comical.
  15. Seems to be the consensus with everyone that has gotten the MAHLS, large or originals and with the DE10 or DE20 driver.
  16. Getting old sucks! LOL, so that's a firm yes for the next one from you, as long as we remind you when it is?
  17. Carl asked the same question, which prompted us turning them that way. In a room, I really didn't notice a big difference, and outside, at the levels we were listening at, tough to tell. As I now get to building the top hats for the mids and tweeters, I will do some listening both ways and some measurements and report back.
  18. That IMHO is a really accurate overview. Funny, how we all hear things slightly different, or have different preferences, as you and I found out, but in the end, good is good, and it's the tweaking to your listening preferences that makes everyone favor one over another. Like you, I own 2 of the 3 and after listening to the LSI bass bin (with the braces, and I think that does make a big difference from the other LaScala's that I've hear) and Dave's monster horns.................I'm thinking about some kind of build???? LOL
  19. It's so much about what you're into and good source and recordings. My sources for testing and auditioning speakers utilizes a ton of Steely Dan/Supertramp/Vaughn Bros./Chaka Kahn (don't laugh until you listen), Chicago, AC/DC (certain tracks), Pink Floyde (certain tracks), Earth Wind and Fire, Dire Straits, Roger Daltrey (under a raging moon) Dave Matthews, Bonnie Raitt, Power Station (Get it on and Some like it hot will rock), The Firm, to name a few. We listened to most of those listed, but not all. There's so much music to experience, and there are a few artists that I had never heard of, but will be listening to, because I got exposed to them at SWAG. Great freaking time, and I'm so sorry I forgot to pick you up. Can I get a commitment from you for the next one?
