@Pete H what kind of a drum set does a 4 yr old get? A drum set, wafffles, bacon and sausage? Will you be my Gramps?:)

Just a basic starter Ludwig set, nothing crazy until we see if she takes to it or not.  I have her cook with me as much as possible, so when she stays over, we make whatever she wants.  If we find the right venue for the next audio gathering, I'll toss in the waffle maker and we'll be set.  LOL

  2. I was just saying the other day to @CECAA850 and @rockhound how the purchase of a pair of these at this kind of price, might be the absolute best value purchase on a set of speakers that I ever made, and they both agreed.

I can promise, anyone that buys these, will not regret the purchase.  Sorry friend, but if you were closer to me, I would have them sold for you, and that probably would be the case with others that own a pair.

  3. Good Morning Forum!  Cup #3, sun is shining and we kidnapped our granddaughter Maylie, yet again to spend the night.  LOL  Went out to dinner last night, did a little shopping and then home for our typical night of music, dancing and singing.  Our time with her is always special, and the fact that she absolutely loves music makes it all come together.  I may have had a little influence since she's been born and she turns 4 next month.  Drum kit is her birthday present from me, but won't be a surprise, since we spent time picking it out together.  At her age, the right color pink was an essential part of the decision.  LOL Better get the sausage and bacon cooking, she'll wake up soon and we'll be making waffles.  Have a great day!

More key variables to be considered:

The audience is typically old men with a certain degree of hearing loss.

We sit about 50 yards away sitting by a bonfire drinking moonshine.

Plus, we have also been drinking all day.

Are you picking up what I am putting down?

We are usually asleep by the time the police find us.

You will fit in fine at SWAG 2, if we ever find a venue for the next one.  Weren't you checking your area?  That way, you can bring your drinking rig to compare to the other ones.  LOL

Stop coming up with more things to do. Some of us work for living.

If I get a vote......................or if my vote counts........................or if my vote gets counted...................Long pause   LMAO

That looks sweet and I would vote for that, especially if you have guys in the shop to do it.   Very Nice.  That said, did you consider having the aluminum corners done the way they are on the original?  I know a guy.

Ok, I finally found the same pics you posted, and have to agree. I had earlier found pics that were said to be the 360 cabinets, but they had no rear ports. I guess I was hallucinating. 🤯

Nothing wrong with controlled hallucinations, as long as you're not driving or operating anything mechanical.  LOL

Ok, did weld up a couple pieces of scrap. I buffed the weld off one edge to compare. I can leave the weld or buff all joints smooth. OR just leave the mitered joint. Please no comments on the weld skills exhibited.

Probably will look great regardless, and will depend on what you think and how much more time, effort and MOJO, you want to put into it.

Your welding skills are amazing compared to mine.  Mine are limited to, "I know a few people that are great welders and they do my welding"

    Probably

I didn't for a couple reasons, cost would have slowed everything down and putting the metal on with insulation between the metal and the frame is a pain and much harder.

I am hoping with a 10' wide x 9' high door on each end plus fans it won't be to bad, the doors are north and south which is where the wind is out of during the summer. It's way more circulation and openings than I am use to where I have been working, not saying it was not hot but here everything is hot in the summer, just being in the shade is a big part. We will see soon enough.

You can always go back and do it if you think it's necessary.  The important thing is that you have music and really big speakers, and you've got that in spades, it appears.  I have a big building to put up this year, and a friend that lost a barn recently (way under insured), and looking at steel because of the huge difference in material costs right now.

It is definitely an age thing. I have always lost my mojo from time to time, but it would always find it's way back. Now I have to go look for it.

Did you miss the part where I said that I only started this one cuz a was bored and looking for a project? I must of had some idea what to do with them when I started, but don't recall.

That's funny!  I've built things and then thought......................where the hell am I going to put this.  LOL

Definitely tac weld while on to make sure they true up. Not that my cabinets and bevel cuts aren't perfectly square, just cuz that's the way I want to do it. 🤥

Didn't make it out to the shop today, stuck in meetings. I will crank out a sample tomorrow and decide. Once my parts went AWOL, I lost my mojo.

You didn't lose it, it's just old age and not remembering where you set it down.  LOL

So where is this pair going to live when you're done?

I have to laugh at myself for wondering where I could put these even though I already have more than I can use.  I'd appreciate the handles for sure though.

    Look nice!

I think most of us do that from time to time.  I still have some herd thinning to do myself before considering anything additional.  One of these days I'll have a set of La Scala's, but not today.

Somebody buy these so I stop looking at the post and wondering what could have been.  LOL

OK speaker dudes, I got tired of waiting/hoping to find another set of aluminum trim to finish out a "pair" of HIP.

The first one was built cuz I had the trim for one. The second speaker to mate up with that one was in a holding pattern until I got bored and built it on the "if you build it, they will come" philosophy. Today I cut some 1" alum angle to fit and planned to simply bevel the corners. I snapped a few pics.

Now I am curious as to whether I should put a light TIG weld on the bevels only. I can buff the weld down a little to "pretty" it up a bit. What do you guys think? Leave as is, or weld those corners. The only obstacle I see is that I cant weld it while on the cabinet as it would get too hot. If I weld all four corners of the front grid and back grid, they might not fit as snug as attaching each piece separately.

    Bevel                                                                                                                               original

I think it looks great!  Can you weld up a scrap piece to compare the look to what you already have?  You should have just made 2 of these and then just used the original for a center.  LOL

Bosch at my house too.  No problems since 2010.

They are really a great company if you know the history and the billions that they've donated to charity over the years, and continue to do so.  I have owned many of their products over the last 35+ years, from automotive, tools, appliances and they are also the only heat pumps (forced air) that I will install on my homes.  If customers want something different, they can contract it out themselves.  I have power tools that are 20+ years old, some drills, 30, and they still work great, and that's not coming from a homeowner perspective, as they've been used professionally for many years.

Getting off the soap box now.  LOL  Happy Saturday.

  14. I have had many dishwashers in the past that were absolute crap.  Went to a Bosch about 5 years ago and finally, a dishwasher that works flawlessly, has a light that shines on the floor to let you know it's running (it's that quiet) and zero issues.  I've had customers install them since getting mine and about 20 to date, all extremely pleased and would never by any other brand.
