Yes, Crites tweeters will be aluminum/metal in color. The originals are black. With KG 5.5s and a Heresy II pair I could see the difference by removing the cloth grille and looking down the horn. KG 4s should show just as easily. With KG 4s, removing the passive woofer on the back should give you a decent look at the crossover.

I know what you mean! Original gorilla if I remember right. I've read about others who have used Loctite PL Premium construction adhesive with good results. Whatever you feel better using.

Not sure if this is the best way to repair, but it worked well on a pair of KG 5.5s. Your 4.5s should be a similar fix.
