  1. You are a true craftsman Wardsweb! They are stunning.[]
  2. Your right! My wife is out shopping for blinds at this very moment.[H]
  3. Yeah! [] I left enough speaker cable behing each speaker to move them inward and out a bit, but I can't go to the corners.[:@] Last night I chose The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway for my first extended listening experience! It was awesome!
  4. I really love this forum and all of the people here! I don't post very often, because I'm enthralled in studying everything under the sun from using the search feature. This spring I'll replace the AV Pioneer receiver with a Harmon Kardon HK 3490.
  5. Last Friday my wife and I picked our daughter up ealry from school and headed for Norwell, Massachussets for a mini family vacation and to pick up my new Forte IIs. We spent the night in Cape Cod and visited Nantucket and checked out Plymouth rock on Saturday morning before picking up the speakers. We then left for New Hampshire and spent Saturday night in the White mountains. They are Oak Clear #19 and were built on the 354th day of 1992. Consecutive numbered 354298719/354298720. They sound better than my 1987 Fortes.
  6. Thank you very much for all of the replys! I've added a JBL powered subwoofer to the mix, and it has really helped round things out!
  7. I recently purchased a Sony DVP-NC800H CD player to work with my Pioneer VSX-517 receiver. My goal is to supply my Fortes with at least 100 watts each. I think this would improve the bass response, and even though the receiver is rated at 110 watts per ch., I know that is not what I'm getting. Can I add a good quality integrated two ch. amp and run the CD player through it, and keep the Pioneer as my tuner? If it were up to me, I would sell the Pioneer and just stick with an amp and CD player, but my wife enjoys listening to the radio through out the day, and she's going to go nuts if I tell her we need a seperate tuner, seperate pre-amp, and amplifier. Thanks for any suggestions!
  8. [Y]....go ahead....say it. Those speakers would not have turned out nearly as good without your help! []
  9. A giant. Paul Harvey...........good day! I would listen to him in my dad's shop on a small AM radio,
  10. Bill H. That Onkyo looks like a clean machine. Thanks for the link.
  11. I have a six pack of St. Pauli Girl with my name on it for this evening.[Y]
  12. Thank you for the compliments guys. (...and the guidance) !
  13. One more because I had the photographs to large before.
  14. A very simple system right now, thank goodness for DC101, 98Rock and a few classic rock stations. It's going to take a few years for me to put everything together, but the bottom line is...these speakers are outstanding! I'm super excited about owning them and being a part of the Klipsch family. My receiver is a Pioneer VSX-517, which I bought brand new, and even though it's an entry level receiver, the sound is full and rich. CSN's "Wooden Ships" and the Stones "Street Fighting Man" were a few highlights of my day. It's like I've never really heard these songs before. I've noticed that even at higher volumes the music does not come across as blaring. It has volume but it's majestic. This is a great web site, I learn something here every day.
  15. Also last night I purchased a Pioneer VSX-517k, new-still in the box for $100.00! Tomorrow, a friend of mine is helping me run a 12AWG, 20 amp dedicated circuit to where I'll have my system set up, so I'm right around the corner from enjoying my new speakers! Well...at least enjoying my new speakers and the local FM stations that is!
  16. arug4, those speakers are devastating! Once again, I would like to thank everyone for your help! One small can of Rust-Oleum Satin Black #7777 and one pack of Linzer artist brushes....
  17. What I should have done is post the pictures of my speakers, and then asked something like: What steps should I take to correct these small imperfections?
  18. Sorry silversport, I probably should just stick with studying past posts and learning through the use of the search feature. I thought these particular cabinets were a black veneer over mdf board? I'll put more energy into my questions next time, instead of confusing myself further.
