  1. Chuck, I bought KG5.5's late 94/early 95 and the MSRP was $500 each then. The 3.5's were probably around $350 each MSRP at that time. Just a guess but should be close. And if YOU like the sound then you DID get a good deal. Keith
  2. orthj, well don't have any experience with any of your speakers except the KG's. Recently ran into a NIB pair of the KT-DS's at a dealer at a good price and grabbed em. May use them eventually with one of the other HT setups I have collected, or maybe as an alternate pair of surrounds along with KSPS6's.Anyway,just looking for experienced opinion.Sorry I can't help ya though. Keith
  3. orthj, noticed you mentioned that you had the KTLCR's.Wondering if you have or had the KTDS surrounds. If so what, in great detail, did you think of em? Keith
  4. t-man, how far from your TV were the 5.5's placed? And how about the center? Keith

Rodney,I mean Mikekid, your prices sound just about right.I bought an SW12II in 1994 for $800.It has been a good piece of equipment, as all Klipsch products generally are.I have since bought several others and love them as well.Guess you could say I kinda collect em. Things have changed a lot since then.My comment took into account the fact that the SW10 will generally not give sufficient clean output alone which necessitates buying another which then becom
  7. mrflapper,IMOP-bad combo of AVR and speakers. Do you have a friend or dealer that has Denon that you could borrow? Or maybe take your speakers to a local dealer that sells both and give them a try.Just an idea. Keith
  8. boa12,to use your own words,I feel your pain. I know this is going to sound ridiculous and I hate to post here account laughter, but seems to me I read somewhere years ago of some device that would convert a high level signal to a low level signal.Otherwise,I have no idea personally how you can accomplish that which you are wanting to do. Good luck. And as far as the hypothetical goes: good answers.Just thought I'd pick everyone's brain and possibly learn something at the same time.I knew I could count on mdeneen! And yes John I too believe in magic. And I would like to add that I too have a Sony reciever that, unlike boa,I am terribly satisified with(GX900ES).Bought it in January 1995 along with an Acurus amp.Anyone considering an amp purchase owes it to themselves to audition Acurus. With my Klipsch speakers it makes magic. Keith
  9. I think the writing is on the wall as far as this topic is concerned.Does anyone remember that Klipsch recently acquired Mondial Designs? Keith

oregon boy, thanks for the laugh. You know, you can learn a lot about people simply by listening to their words. And you sir are a simple read. Keith
  11. Yes, I understand all of the above. My question was this.If I build a reciever that I say delivers 100 watts per channel to all channels at 8 ohms and also that it is capable of driving 4 ohm loads with a rated output of 200 watts, as opposed to your product that you say delivers 100 watts per channel at 8 ohms-200 watts at 4 ohms, then why in almost all cases does your product(amp) outperform my hypothetical (AVreciever) product? Keith
  12. In other words if I read specs for say an AV reciever that says "100 watts per channel-all channels driven" then am I actually getting stated output as advertised? I understand there are standards in place for the rating of output for recievers, amplifiers, etc. but if I AB'ed lets say an AV reciever rated as above and a separate amp rated likewise, then more than likely I will get superior sound quality from the amplifier. Why? If both pieces were tested for output using the same 8 ohm resistive load, then would the difference be simply build quality?Any and all ideas and input appreciated. Keith
  13. BobG, got a question for you that has been on my mind for some time. You said "We are working to ensure what you buy is grade A product".My question to you is this: Does Klipsch actually allow anything less than "grade A" products to leave their facility? In other words are there blems, seconds, imperfects, scratchNdent,Bstock or otherwise sold by Klipsch or is any product, other than perfect, destroyed? Thanks, Keith

oregon_guy, you paid TOO MUCH for the SW10. And yes I did bid up to $175 on the sub,but then again I didn't run the bid up, you did. And you paid TOO MUCH. Keith

oregon dude, no they are not ported, as such. Unless you call rear passive radiators a vent.If I remember correctly(and remember,I know it all)the SW8II had the 8" front driver with a 10" passive radiator(65 watts RMS),the SW10II had the 10"& 12"(100 watts RMS),the SW12II had 12"&12"(150 watts RMS),and the SW15II 15"&15"(200 watts RMS).Get as many of them as you can get your hands on. Keith
  20. BobG, I have seven semi- "closed-loop" KSP300's.They save rack space and floor space.Love em. Hey Bob, heard anything out of the Mondial deal that resembles say a B&K AV202? Keith
  21. myram, good luck solving your problem.Next time try your local authorized Klipsch dealer.I just love my local dealer.I also love how I can fix lame jokes on this BB. Keith
  22. printerman, did you get improved sound by biwiring the 300's as opposed to using the jumpers?Have you tried the low level inputs to your sub out? Keith
