Thanks, these units sound great,  and are beautiful to look at.

You are so right, I love how mine sounds stand alone. Have you got a WC22 for it? (wood case). You can find them on the net for $100-200, that would be a nice cosmetic touch if you plan on keeping it for awhile and decide not to sell it or it enhances the price abit to, a lot of guys are looking for the Receivers..BUT...want the wood case for it(part # WC22).

This is my beast with the wood cabinet.

  2. I have a pr of 2000 LaScla's and was going to upgrade the tweeters from the K-77's to the CT120's. My question, does anyone know if the LaScala's from that time(2000) HAVE "Z brackets" for the tweeter? My LaScala's are in their boxes and storage at this time , so kind of hard for me to check. I thought one of the brilliant minds in this place might know.

    Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the post, just received my SB-2000 as well. My plan is using it in 2.1, with my LaScala's(or soon to be Cornwall III's), Rega RP40 - 40th Anniversary turntable, CR Electronic Design - Carmenta Tube Preamplifier, and Dynaco Mark III mono tube amps, plus a Marantz SA8004 SACD player, until September,  to be replaced with the pre-ordered Marantz 40th Anniversary SA-KI Ruby SACD player...now there is a sweet piece.

What's your opinion of using them for strictly music? Anyone else have an opinion on how musical the sub is? When I called SVS this was the subwoofer the tech had recommended "musicically" to match with my LaScala's, no recommendation on dual subs. I do run dual Polk psw125's for HT.  Anyone running their 2000 in 2.2 music mode?

  4. I've heard the Cornwall's many moons ago, and in fact I haven't even heard the Cornwall III's(just reading opinions here and reviews),  and going by the Klipsch name plus being an owner of Khorns, LaScala's and Hersey II's.  I had a hard time trying to stay away from this deal, and then the Dealer posted another ad with price drop,  and I yanked on that hook  🐠

  6. Thanks for posting the price,  I've got the opportunity to pull the trigger on a new pair of cherry Cornwall III's for $1900 US up here in Canada,  and now don't have to weigh this issue anymore about the purchase....*cheers**

  7. I saw a picture many moons ago that had PWK in it, with Khorns and an Adcom GFA 555, it made me laugh as I had my Khorns in 93 powered with an Adcom GFA limited edition 585 SS amp and knew I had something right.  My understanding is he admired the original Adcom SS and "made in the USA quality".....

I use Marantz gear with my Heritage and have for many years....Sauls not around but someone is doing it right IMO....

  8. Hey TG, boomer is correct, but I will say this:

It sounds like a totally defective item. I'd advise seeing if Klipsch will do a warranty replacement on it, as it sounds like a heck of a lot of problems going on.

Agreed...sounds like the whole amp board needs to be pulled...

  9. Hi TG and welcome to the Klipsch forum.  I believe you have posted your question to the wrong forum, this is 2 channel home audio, you questions lies with  computer audio,

You may wanna try the Klipsch General Questions Forum or the Personal Music Forum....for you answers.

  10. Hi, Boomer,

Yes, I would be willing to do that (assuming that I know what I am talking about, ha ha).  Not having done that, does it involve more than taking the item to FedEx for packing and shipping?

What am I not asking/knowing that I should?

    Thanks.

    Jim

Hi Jim and thanks for replying, not to worry, like taking baby steps....lol..... you would have to bubble wrap and box it, unless your FedEx does it down there, up here ...no way. You would have to find cost to my address up here plus weight and size dimensions. I will message you my info and we can go from there, payment via PayPal if you have an account....thanks Jim...Tim.

PS. Forgot to mention I am interested in the pair of KG 2.2 also, if we can work out something between the 2...*cheers*...

  11.

I do have the KG 2.2V and a matching pair of 2.2s, if you are interested.

Glad to respond to any questions/comment.

I am very interested in your KG 2.2V, are you willing to ship North across the border to Canada, say FedEx Ground?  I have bought items from other members on here in the past and shipped with no issues,  At my cost of course., let me know....thanks.

    Chuckster,

I think the NAD C375BEE/DAC and the CA 851A are both excellent choices to drive your RF-7II's.  Personally, I have never considered CA amps as bright, more neutral IMO.

Also, I know these guys ship to Canada so another option would be a Yamaha A-S1000.  I love mine and it is built like a tank.

With shipping and the exchange rate, you will come in under your budget.

Oh, don't be put off by the "only" 90w/ch.

    Bill

Not the way our dollar sits right now, plus you forgot to add taxes, customs duty charges, brokers fees etc.

I bought my Marantz PM8004 direct from a member here in the Klipsch Garage Sale section for $525...nice price...by the time it got across the border and to my door in total I paid just shy of $900.

Sorry, I guess I made a very low assumption of the added cost to ship to CA.   I figured with the 1 US$/1.31 CA$ exchange that maybe only about another 20% would be added to the exchange rate cost and on top of shipping.

I got it all wrong. :o

    Bill

LOL....not to worry Bill as it's Federal Election time up here and our dollar usually takes a dive as no one else in the global market believes in the a$$ clowns that are running for Prime Minister(President) as much as we do....HA.....and who said it's all about oil....

  14. I recently got myself a pair of RF-7 ii's. I will be using these for a 2.0 music listening system only. I am hoping someone can give me some advise on an integrated amp to drive them. I am looking at the NAD 375BEE and the Cambridge Audio Azur 851A. Budget, must be under $2000.00 (CDN). Most music (from classical and jazz to hard rock/Metal) will be via CD, however in the future "nice to have"  would be able to send music from my PC/iTunes.

The Cambridge looks real nice, but I have heard some say they are too bright (??) so not a good match with the RF7. The NAD 375 I have read great things, not sure how I can integrate digital sources with it (external DAC?). Unfortunately I do not have a local dealer I can demo these with the RF7's. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, including other amps to consider. I am fairly new to this, thanks in advance!

Greetings Chuckster and welcome to the Klipsch forums. What part of Canada are you in?  Take a look at the Marantz PM8005 Integrated amp at $1500 (2015). I myself have a PM8004 (2014) with my LaScala's and the Marantz SA8004 SACD player. The amp has gotten pretty good reviews over the last couple of years. I have been using Marantz with my Klipsch Heritage family since 2000 and could not be happier. Marantz seems to cover all the ranges from the highs to the bottom end with Klipsch.

Here is a link to Gibbys Electronic store in Ontario, type Marantz into the search and it will bring up their Klipsch speakers and Marantz bundled together to give you an idea. They even might have the PM8004 still listed for less than the PM8005 and it's still pretty much the same amp.

If your set on the NAD or Cambridge try Visions.electronics(visions.ca), they sell both the NAD C375BEE for $1999 and Cambridge gear as well, including DAC's. If you buy and ship from Alberta you only pay GST as we have no PST or HST here, and I'm sure a salesman on the phone would cut you a better deal on price plus they do ship across Canada.

Last piece of advice, if you don't mind "used" check out canuckaudiomart.com, you'll find what you want there.

    *cheers*

  15. I originally ran my Khorns with an Adcom GFA 585LE back in the 90's in 2 channel, as well used a Pioneer VSX D1S when I moved away from 2 channel. Over time I went with a Marantz Reference SR18EX A\V Receiver(this was a beast) for HT and had 3 Marantz MA700 mono blocks bridged for the fronts and centre in 2001. Now with 3 seperate systems for HT and and 2 channel I am using a Marantz SR7008 A\V Receiver with the 3 MA700's in HT and in 2 channel mode using a 1976 Marantz 2275 and 2245, now and then switch out with a Marantz PM8004 Intergrated amp.

I guess I love Marantz but must admit I do miss the brute force of my old Adcom GFA 585 Limited Edition...a true beast!

Also back in the early 2000's alot of folks on this board were using Denon with their Klipsch but that seems to have faded somewhat and alot are using Marantz now.

  16. Sorry to hear you have to sell, your setup is exact same to my wall configuration in my first place, pretty tight and I know what you mean now. That's a nice price though and you should have no problem selling them.

Now if you want to part with that MC240 lets talk...... :)
