I wouldn't want anything that crapped, peed, or walked on anything that I prepare food on in my house personally.  Different strokes for different folks.

  3. I was never one to ask someone to hold my beer... I'd finish it first.

Personally, I'm more nervous about the plumbing side of installing a water heater as opposed to the electrical.  I even had a "pro" snap off the supply pipe inside the wall and then scramble looking for the main shutoff.  I drove up to see a river flowing out of the garage.  He was having his assistant cut the old pipe... well duh!

I had 20 Gallons on standby and generator full as well, both car and van full all the food and water we would need...............It was looking like we may have outage for a week or more so I was trying to fill cans as they emptied. If you wait to fill them stations run out of fuel then you are up the creek.  When you say Jerry cans are those the old military style or the red 5 gallon cans ?  I would like to find a few of the military style cans.  Around here they want 20+ for the red 5 gallon cans.  I thought the same way as you If my starter on tractor had not failed I could possibly have saved the road from wash out by hitting it some point in between the rain drops, as it stands now it is going to take some doing to repair it.

Small rain storm this evening and power is back out again, Without a doubt this is the WORST power company I have had the displeasure of using, we are constantly loosing power I understand it in a heavy or big storm such as Florence or even severe Storms but this goes out all the time with small rains, or winds. I get paranoid just knowing one day it will cause a surge and take out an amp or ?

Storms?  Power almost always rock solid.   Sunny days?  Outages for hours!

Build the THT LP, low profile version, so they take up only Cornwall footprint and you can aim them at the ceiling.

I understand there is a version with a side opening.  I’ll have to get the newer version of the plans I guess?  It would be nice to have some aiming choices.   Not a lot of placement choices but a few anyway

Why?  F-20's are so much easier to build and have a smaller footprint.  They'll even go 1 or 2 Hz lower and use the same driver.

It has been so long I honestly don't remember the reasons I decided against the F-20.   Seems like I was staying away from a tapped horn because of the definite need for EQ but I might need a little either way.  I was also going with the low profile version of the THT so there was the placement capability taking up only 18"x18" of floor space.

  7. Regarding lifespan of tubes...

I bought my first VRD amp (stereo version) in 2011 along with the tubes that had been used by the original owner.  A year or so later I also got mono-blocks.  I have NEVER yet had a tube fail in these.   My power tubes in the monoblocks easily have 4,000 hours on them... I've swapped them with others a few times otherwise I'd say more like 6-7,000.   I've lost a total of 2 tubes ever since 2009!  One was a rectifier in a Scott 299b and the other was a 5670 from a DAC.  I have something running a tube in my home almost every day of the year.

People talk about tubes as if they are light bulbs designed to burn out.  I don't think that is a completely valid comparison especially for tubes built for military or hospital equipment.  By the way, I have incandescent bulbs in my house that have never been replaced in 21 years.  The rest have been replaced with CFL's or LED bulbs and many of them have been replaced more than once.   Tube lifespan just doesn't appear to be much of a concern.

Which one is that on his website?  The site is about as clear as mud.  Size wise, that would be doable in my upstairs room with how the walls are 5' on the sides then angle up to 8' height.

Edit:  I think I finally found it.  What woofer did you use in the cabinet and what amp runs it?  Do you run LS's or Belles?

I have 2 of the woofers for the Table Tubas... never taken out of the box.  Not sure what I paid but I'll sell for less.  PM me if interested.
