  1. I love this Forum!!! - Thanks ALL FYI: not going to purchase the Magnavox tube amp. I think it best to wait until I can afford some tubes which are better suited to my listening tastes. LOL - gonna be a long wait!!! The BIG mono block Mc's are $$$ (oh yeah, and a house out in the country) ♪ ♫ ♪
  2. Hi Billy Have decided to hold off on this unit. Thankful for Joe's comment about the build quality. I am so happy with the 150+ watt mono block Rotel's that it just does not seem worth the risk. Plus, I could use that money for more Rotel equipment (can never have too much!) Have a great day my friend ♪ ♫ ♪

  4. Thanks NOS, your comments are very helpful. Not sure if the good will outweigh the bad. My listening tastes would most likely be a set up for disappointment on this unit. An awful lot of work involved to wind up with "mush" (i.e. tear down, set up, tear back down). Darn tubes are so expensive! Still torn though, maybe just a taste, HMMMM?
  5. Found this on CL today. Thinking of making an offer but first would like to know the forum's opinion. Have never really been interested in going with tubes but at this price I may venture to at least stick a toe in the water. 9. Welcome Keegan, Most likely to suit your needs would be an integrated amplifier. Integrated is the combination of the amplifier and pre-amp. You will be able to find a decent, used unit in your budget. Take your time and do a little research/shopping. I prefer Rotel gear. It is relatively affordable and well built. Look on eBay for starters. There are many manufactures to choose from (i.e. Yamaha, Adcom, Carver, Emotiva, Marantz etc.etc.) Narrow your search to used gear. 12. Klipsch is a highly efficient speaker. There is tons of knowledge here and I have a great deal of respect for this forums members. The following is my opinion only! The RF-7 is a power hungry MONSTER! I was running an original pair of 7's thru a 125 wpc Adcom. Knowing that these beasts could handle much more, I bit the bullet. My search brought to me a mint Yamaha M-80 rated at 250 wpc. The difference was substantial. Bottom end from the 7's could now be felt all the way to the bones. The upgrade was like cracking the throat open of a finely tuned hot rod. ...again, my experience and opinion only Experimentation is fun it can however be costly as well...

  14. Yes RG, the 8" driver is missing, not the radiator. Thank you I don't think the seller even knew the front grill was removable. It is a beautiful little oak sub otherwise... Once up and running, it is going to fit in nicely. Just hope the amp is OK (my luck , LOL)

  18. Yes, the seller and I have come to agreement and case is closed. The seller really knew nothing of audio equipment and "lesson learned". She was very responsive and positive. New seller! 22. Jason, that would be OK but the micro system would benefit us due to the receiver for morning radio shows. Double duty if you will. I stream radio programming and would prefer to just have one small dedicated unit for this purpose (i.e. no amplifiers/processor/comp/etc) Plus, I truly dislike TV
