  4. From what I've heard, Mitsubishi is comparable to Sony in picture, but the Mitsubishi's picture will fade less over time.

Yes it doesnt have the low end but the top end power is insane. Do you know what it takes to make those things run 13's? High RPM clutch dumps. You have to beat the **** out of them to run well, and who buys a car like that to beat on it? Yes, they do handle amazingly well though. This message has been edited by Diggs on 01-29-2002 at 08:51 PM
  6. Preach on brother! One problem though, Supra's are VERY reliable cars, at a price though. They can easily take 600+HP on stock internals. Too bad they cost an arm and a leg.

    Get this CD!

The track they were playin' was "Ride Wit' Me". I thought it was much more musical, more melodic than most rap. So, I bought the CD on the strength of a couple of music videos, and when I got that sucker on the player at home - WOW! Excellent recording, with deep, slammin' bass and outstanding sound overall. Plus, every track is a keeper; only a couple are a little below par. Will sound great on any good klipsch system. oops!...Oh dopey me... and the NAME of the CD is Country Grammar, by the artist currently known as Nelly. (thanks SF, for the nudge.) Whoa man, that CD came out at least a year ago if not more. You do know Nelly is from St. Louis don't you? Just thought I'd throw some facts out there. He also has a new song called "# 1" or "I am #1" Something like that. It's a pretty tight track too. ------------------ Denon AVR-2800 KG-4 mains (too bad the rest of my speakers aren't this good) Polk C-175 center (it's ok) Infinity RS-10 Surrounds (suck) Audiosource SW-15 subwoofer (excellent sub for it's price) Pioneer DV333 DVD Sony 5 disc CD player All in a 12x12 apartment bedroom. 11. The Outlaw is a fantastic receiver and will do well with any product Klipsch makes. I recently talked my father into getting one and I would have to say it's on par with my Denon audibly, plus it has 6.1, which mine doesn't. Enjoy! 12. From a biological standpoint, distilled water won't induce mold due to the fact there is nothing in the water for the mold to grow on. However, there may be minerals, compounds, etc on the cartridge. Vinyl was a little before my time, but what about mixing it with a little fungicide? I wonder if this would effect the cartridge or the vinyl? Just a thought. 13. I also recommend the Outlaw 1050, and I own a Denon! Nothing against Denon, I love my 2800, but the Outlaw is a steal at $499. www.outlawaudio.com ------------------ Denon AVR-2800 KG-4 mains (too bad the rest of my speakers aren't this good) Polk C-175 center (it's ok) Infinity RS-10 Surrounds (suck) Audiosource SW-15 subwoofer (excellent sub for it's price) Pioneer DV333 DVD Sony 5 disc CD player All in a 12x12 apartment bedroom. 14. Thank you Mobile Homeless. I was hoping someone would shine some light on the subject.
  15. Someone must know something about Hitachi. Anyone?
  16. Only found one page on all the net about it. Some guy was selling old Stereo Review magazine xeroxed articles for $5 apiece. The SR 5200 was featured in a 1974 issue. 17. To bad they dont have the old section with the replacement parts. I know for a fact a new horn would be less than $100. I got a new woofer for $80 ( and I have to get another new one due to the previous owners abuse ) ------------------ Denon AVR-2800 KG-4 mains (too bad the rest of my speakers aren't this good) Polk C-175 center (it's ok) Infinity RS-10 Surrounds (suck) Audiosource SW-15 subwoofer (excellent sub for it's price) Pioneer DV333 DVD Sony 5 disc CD player All in a 12x12 apartment bedroom. 18. I was recently at my grandmothers house which is currently not in use and looked at her old stereo setup. She has an old Hitachi SR 5200 receiver in immaculate condition. I mean, you could eat off this thing! Not a single scratch! I powered it up and listened through her old Hitachi speakers and it sounded just fine. All the lights and meters work. A question, was Hitachi ever a major player in the audio buisness? Is this thing worth anything? How does it stack up to other receivers of the era? Just wondering so someone doesn't go giving it up to the Goodwill like they usually do in my family with old belongings. 19. Yeah I saw it. Too much glorified rice. Give me good old American muscle. Moive was actually decent. Good special effects and sound. I might buy it.
  20. if you don't need DVD Audio, then go with the Panasonic RP-56. Receivers

Wow, you guys are getting shafted! My last final is on the 14th, and the next semester doesn't start til January 22. 5 weeks!
  24. I have yet to take apart the speaker to determine exactly the problem. I'll take it apart this weekend to see if anything is scraping. I hope this is the problem, but knowing my luck, probably not. Just like the last one, if I slightly put pressure on the cone the buzz goes away. Of course, so does the ability of the woofer to make bass. I'm not an expert, but they shouldn't just start to fail under normal playing conditions even if they were abused, should they? There is literally such a small amount of bass coming out of my speakers I don't see how it could fail. I can put my face right in front of the speaker and feel a very small vibration. Denon isn't exactly known for its bass output, especially at my settings. I'm not bashing the speakers. I think they sound great and will continue to buy from the Klipsch line, but if my woofers continue to go out at this rate I'll have spent $360 by next winter on top of what I paid for the speakers. JMON: What else could it be? My receiver? Please enlighten me. I'm not exactly an audiophile.
  25. Keith, Back when I registered they had a section that had replacement parts for nearly everything Klipsch made with prices and I used this to find my woofer. I guess when they redid the site they removed it because I can't find it now. I don't believe -20 is pushing it either, but it's plenty loud in my small bedroom. If there was nothing wrong with the old woofer, why was it discontinued? Can woofers just "go bad"? Oh well, I guess what I know what I'm getting for Xmas.
