It is still 7.1. Your just giving the backs some of the side surround info... Just try it... See if you like it too?
-
Did anyone try and hear this mod?
-
Let me and others know what you think!

Not enough info in the back surrounds? In 7.1? I agree, not a whole lot of recorded direct content in 7.1 that is clear to the back surrounds that is not reverbed in. My Sunfire takes 5.1 and makes it 7.1 too. That said, I will tell you a secret if you promise not to tell anyone else...(Except fellow Klipschheads... of course.... we all learn from one another. And I have never admitted this trick on the forum before! So listen closely!) DO THIS: Take the left and right side surrounds output from your pre amp with a Y splitter. Keep both of them as they were ment to go, so left n right side surround.. But split the other to the left n right back rears with the back rear 7.1 added in signal if it is there as well.(So the left n right back surrounds have now 2 inputs into one channel.) Now boost the back surrounds signal output on your pre amp up 2-4 db, as needed. (Personal preference) So if it is discrete it will come through. Why? This will envelop you with sound, yet still give you that back surround signal (Because it is a little hotter, if it is there.) Doing this also surrounds you with really cool effects. (It only works if your rears are spread apart, not in the corners but behind you. They can't be too close together. Also, this trick mod will not work with 6.1) Try it.. You might be very happy indeed. Face it, if you bought speakers to be back surrounds for 7.1, you want something going through it too. I did. Why have La Scala's for rears, if nothig really goes through them in 7.1??? So the result are this: The effect is awesome, things going back to side to front still feel that way, and in concert videos your sitting in the sweet spot, claps all aroud you as if you were there.. My personal opinion.. You will love it. IndyKlipschFan

So your point is? You sign up, trash the very company your speaking about on their forum? What do you own in Klipsch that you feel is ordinary? Or do you even own Klipsch at all? Just asking? Trey was very clear of a great relationship AND the process they take pride in products from China. Personally, I miss Andre too. It's a small world out there, You see business and technology changing all the time. And that includes where it is made too. I do not work for Klipsch, but have friends that do. Maybe I am protective of them, but I think your post is out of line.

Tales from the Klipsch: Hi-fi horror stories
IndyKlipschFan replied to 4tay's topic in General Klipsch Info
1) I was too afraid to spend 200 more for something at the time I really wanted. 2) I mentioned to a fellow klipscher a great deal I was bidding on, only to have him buy it.. turn around and sell it rather than keep it. 3) Waiting my whole life to just enjoy what I have the last few years, and not doing it sooner! 4) At one point reading several magazines and listening to a sales guy talk me into Infinity speakers instead of where my heart was.... With Klipsch! -

Old corvette hugh?? 1953.... With a Chevy NOVA engine?? WT..... heck.... Get it on a carport tow it back into the shop. Never a 53 on the dirt roads for this baby! BTW, I found a good source as a re built engine off of Google.... there wasn't really a max performance in 53 anyhow, it is for looks, for show, and you need to re marry it with the engine designed for it too. You find a 53 and did not buy "the package" to make it puuuuurrrrrr? Sad... The only reason to get the carb overhaul is to drive it yourself to the body shop to refurbish it... PS... Go get a beat up jeep for around the farm. Your making me cry here! PSS As a last resort... LOL.. I understand...but it is just WRONG! That amp was made for those speakers. If u only KNEW what you really had? I guess you can lead a horse (klipsch forum fan with a question) to water, but you can't make him drink (See the correct answer if he does not want to see it.) LOL Your gonna do what you want anyhow... Enjoy whatever u do.

I still stand by my recommendation.. Look on ebay etc for a used one.. good luck! Why go through all the effort a few hundred either way and never get what the system is capable of by not going the route I suggested? Kinda like buying a Corvette and putting a Chevy Nova engine in it. It's just wrong.

Ditto... In my prayers.

It is awesome here in my HT. hehehehehe 106" screen and a great soundtrack it is just amazing.... Visually a 10... Sound a 9. Why you ask? I expected more LFE, That said... sound placement is a 10+++. Amazing, get it on Blu Ray for sure, and drool! Even if not 3D. LOL
-
The amp was made to use your speakers as a system... Buy it... To answer your ?,,,,, Yes u could... but why? It willl not be the same and not a plug n play situation too!

Where can I find info on La Scala vs Jube/Scala
IndyKlipschFan replied to chrapladm's topic in General Klipsch Info
402 or the 510 on top of a La Scala botttom rules.... Face it most of us in a HT room in our house do not need a HUGE 402 too. If crossing over at 80 Htz too... And all three up front should be.. the same too frequency and speakers too... The La Scala bottom is fine, add a sub(s) ... (use the THX Ultra 2 Subs with the KA 120 amp too, hint hint.) You will be happy! -
All mine are hidden... LOL Black speakers will seem to hide themselves, and you will just watch what is on the screen. (Which is the idea here too!!!!) If you have a dedicted room, I would go this route. Keep the electronics away from the fronts too. Nothing like blinking lights...to bother you. Of course if this is in a bookshelf.. that is different. In a family room, match what you can with your significant other. Good luck!

Just a heads up, especially on split Pro La Scalas, they are sealed... So everything inside will look like brand new. Mine did..and no need to replace anything! Works pretty darn good for 1986 speakers. LOL
