  1. AL did me up some custom XO's for my Eliprasery clones , melding a Hersey & Elip horn (CS-1.5 volume box with Crites 12" woofer & Dave's Eliptracs ) he tested the woof in the box & with Dave's horn then built the XO well worth the cost to send the box to the East coast from the Best coast [Y]
  2. mono blocks are the only way around a shared power supply
  3. NICE XO's they Look beautiful & Heavy ! lotta good copper there ! all & all what a GREAT JOB !
  4. Your (if it's the old style ) UPA-7 is 125 watts minimun per channel I have one & a UPA-2 125 watts as well pushing 9 channels to 5 CornScala & 4 CS-1.5 type clones all 9 have Dave Harris's Eliptrac-400 , B&C DE750TN-16 2" drivers I use a TX-NR1009 as a pre/pro for the dual video processors (same vid processors in the Oppo 105) really helps the PQ on my DirecTV as well as up-procesing SD on DVD's
  5. IIRC theaters have processors for this
  6. agreed ! FedEx ground is getting better all the time
  7. Yeah, UPS handles this for me and they are very good at it. They are expensive, but I have not found anyone that does it cheaper. The actual shipping from Poland to me for a 1000 pound pallet is about $500.00. Paper work along the way (customs, taxes, bribes, or whatever they have to do) is about $1000.00. Yeah I was dealing in importing plants & UPS would not do customs on plants at all @ the time . I have a love/hate thing with UPS took six months to get them to pay on a insurance claim on a smashed new computer I was sending to my parents . kept claiming that it was packed wrong even thou it was triple boxed with their own boxes . Bob, you being a commercial customer they treat you different than us common folk . . . . L O L they kept thinking I would take No for a answer but that it was clearly their fault . made me jump thru multiple hoops but I got my 1K outta them in the end .
  8. hiring & dealing with a customs broker is not only a P I A BUT Expensive as well
  9. here a pix on my CornScala Crites XO CS500/4500 you can see the taps horn PH800 driver is the Atlas replacement PD-5VH tweet CT-125 woofer the 15" Crites AL cast hope that helps I'm swapping this all out for a Eliptrac-400 B&C DE750TN-16 mid combo & ALK AP12-500 in a 2 way , I'll keep the woofs the taps there are @ "0" & "1" ATM
  10. recheck that that they are wired correctly I added the same exact parts to my CornScala & the effect was immediate with no change after a few hours sounded sweet from the get go ! Dean is right something is wrong ! !
  11. Remember that when you get married to her , She's on a mission to claim the room as hers & your Klipsch will turn into Bose in a Blink o'Eye if your not careful ! I gave mine the time honored " The Klipsch were here before you & will still be here after you are gone ! " line . []
  12. I have 2 SVS PC12-NSD's & I love them dearly . but seeing how my building skills have developed toward better , I'm on track to build 2 of the Bill Fitzmaurice designed THT low profile sub horns the build costs for two are about less than I paid for just one SVS PC12-NSD's
  13. My respect for the Crites CT-125 grows even more now after that photo ThanX Bob
  14. that's under-kill. surrounds using 83's is just getting EvenKILL [<)]
  15. XPR is way way over kill for anything Klipsch the XPA would be just fine I M H O heck I push my 5 Cornscala & 4 CS-1.5 's with a Emotiva UPA-7 & UPA-2 ( the good old style UPA's) , 125 watts per channel more than enought headroom
  16. Interesting. So given that #3 gives me the suggested 60 degree angle, does that mean that you don't use a 60 degree angle yourself? EDIT: This link also suggests that #2 or #3 would be better than #1: http://www.dolby.com/us/en/consumer/setup/connection-guide/home-theater-speaker-guide/index.html I don't run backs , placement was just too hard by the size I would be forced into using. less than 10" is my available wall space (& that at the ceiling ) due to a door way & then a small drop wall that separates the living room from the dining room My room would be not served well with tiny rear speakers as everything else is 5 CornScala & 4 CS-1.5 Hey i'm just throwing out a suggestion as asked but really try they all on temp basis theory is great but real world experience thumps theory
  17. after seeing the diagram Myself I'd do #1 #3 the speakers are too close to the surrounds for me I had a hard time with the photos as no sense of depth for me
  18. hope you're wearing a dust mask , that sanding dust is not good for the lungs BUT the work looks great !
  19. wow that's a great deal ! If I had the 1100.oo I run over there & get them right now. that's just south of me !
  20. Bob , I'd just be curious to how they preformed with your driver as they do look like a Eliptrac-400 horn the draw back is the Eliptrac is a painted horn & those are a cool wood grain but in a real world , I would have a better sounding horn/driver over Just a cool & pretty looking horn any day & your CT-125 sound very good to me I still have 4 of them when I start on a changing my current 2way set-up into my planned 2way / 3way switchable set-up I will use your CT-125's again those drivers I will keep always "when you have something good you stick with it " is my mantra .
  21. i've had conversations with him but I run 2 way ATM & have no way to test them OR I'd ask him If I was running CT-125 like I was last year I'd make an offer for just horns in heartbeat he's nice guy & a local famous woodworker in his area i did a google search
  22. there is a single Belle on Audiogon right now but that KPT4350-MS would be Killer as well
  23. You are correct, would need attenuation for either driver.I believe the horn is question is Conical. I am not recommending this horn/driver combo to anyone, because there has been absolutely no testing. I just think it is beautiful work. I will stick with my ContracT and DE-10, I know what to expect from that combo. Dave he calls it a wave guide , the attraction is the drop in factor & just how nice it looks, But Dave is right until there is any testing done , it is just pretty to look at [<)]
  24. I was thinking eliminate the adapter altogether and use a bolt on driver. that's the best solution yet
  25. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/175895/2051690.aspx#2051690 I started another thread in " Updates & Modification " section about this horn as most who would be interested in it are over there & don't generally monitor the alert section
