  1. No i think they replaced those ones for him. I want to post more pics of my rf-7ii when i get my system a little more complete. e2g seeing those jamo makes me think of these. My mom was always getting after me about how she wanted me to hook her up with a pair of speakers so i gave her these for the time being. I sort of want to get them back for some 2 channel. I believe they have like 2 12'' woofers inside opposing each other. They supposedly handle well with 400 wpc amps. By the way these ones are not ours we have black ones.
  2. Shipping is literally a killer. Only get the rf-83 of rf-7ii shipped freight or from a ruputable seller who will make things right if they are damaged upon shipment. Always inspect boxes when delivered and if the units are damaged refuse shipment. Since you already have the rc-64 rf-83s or rf-63s are the logical choice. The reference series ARE NOT timbre matched. They will work togethor but they are not matched, they have different crossovers, drivers and tweeters. Are the rf-7ii better than the rf-83s? My personal opinion is yes. Are they loads of money better ? My personal opinion is no.

13 14, watching movies without klipsch speakers is boring
  4. monoprice is awesome for speaker wire and other cords. They are great for just about everything but i hate their banana plugs. Check out GLS bananas i like the look better and they have a lesser chance of coming loose over time.
  5. holy carp, 63s. I think they should keep making the 63 and 83 line with the 7ii. You went from 82s to 63s right? A big step up i would think. Plus you already have the 64. You are set! I am always astounding with the depth of the 3's. Enjoy i bet the next few weeks are going to some happy ones.
  6. Well blu-ray has 1080p at 24hz. Also it has the higher high definition codecs. At $4 a pop you might as well start a netflix account with blu-ray access. Plus then you will get streaming videos there. They wont have the movie you want streaming but they have a huge selection, about 1/3 of which is in HD. A few selections are in 5.1 surround. I use redbox for blu-rays quite often
  7. I dont think i could watch Avatar or book of eli again, although they were both awesome movies i just got bored with them after the second viewing. I have a recommendation for a movie i remember i loved but it is sort of a niche movie. It is called "Triangle" and it has an awesome story (some may not like it) and the sound is really good too. Someone please give it a shot
  8. Dont feel so bad about the limitations. I am moving my system from a living room that is probably a little bit bigger than your current setup to a bedroom that is the same size or smaller than your current room. Although it is a house so i can use my sub. For some reason i still want to get a pair or original rf-7 system. Really looks great sub you deserve it. I hope you choose to keep them.
  9. there you go now you are in business. Look perfect. Too bad you cannot take advantage of that sub if i know your abilities you can probably recoup your cost with just that sub
  10. 90% of people would be happy to get the newer model. I originally ordered a rc-64 to match my rf-82s and they sent me the rc-64ii. That lead me to get the rf-7ii. Since you already have the rc-64ii it seems that that was a remarkably good coincidence that they sent you the model iis. I can see how you do not like the feet on them as they do make a already mid/smaller floorstanding speaker smaller but they would make awesome matching surrounds if you did get some 7iis. The feet on my rf-82s were okay but became loose (i hardly ever moved them so i did not bother trying to tighten them) and seemed cheap compared to the new feet.
  11. I rented gladiator from redbox and when i saw the disc was the old version i would not even put it in my blu-ray player. That deserves a good viewing once my home theater is done. Maybe even wait for a few years from now when i get a projector. I am a big Spartacus fan and watched the whole series in SD through netflix streaming. I bet blu-ray is astounding. If anyone has not seen the series go watch it now! Make sure to watch atleast 2-3 episodes because the first one is a little misleading
  12. At that price point they are so close in price that they should have similar sound quality (different but similar). The cwiii may sound superior for most applications (going on the opinion of one person) but i prefer the look of the rf-7ii surround system for home theater. Now the LSii is a different story [6].
  13. When do a tone test on my speakers (same experience with rf-82 and rc-62 as well as rf-7ii and rc-64ii) there is a slight difference in sound, i could probably pick the center out in a blind test. If you are plagued with wondering if your center is messed up then it very likely may be. Have you given klipsch support a call yet? Like i said if you bought them from an authorized dealer they will help you figure something out.
  14. Jeez JW i am sure all of use are a little jelous. Do you wish you would have gone CWiii for your two channel instead of the rf-7ii? Or maybe some Lascala ii? That macintosh gear has to be taming some of the brightness from the rf-7ii? Do you think the rf-7ii would be better in the home theater room? I am sure the cwiii and the lsii have been tamed back a bit as my 1993 lascalas were similar in brightness to my rf-7ii if not more
  15. If you bought it from an authorized dealer and you have proof of purchase you will be able to make a warranty claim. And if the problem is not from misuse of the speaker it will be a piece of cake for them to fix. If you are a little handy they might ship you the replacement tweeter or part and you send the old one back. Not sure if they would do this but shipping the rc-64 is not smart
  16. What about room treatments those could help too dont you guys think?
  17. Henry sorry i have not finished my system yet but what i am using right now are 2 marantz ma-500 monoblocks in 2.0. It sounds fantastic. I eventually want to go to something else though, i just want to finish a 5.1 system. I had the opportunity to have a sunfire cinema grand signature in my system for a bit and that sounded warm and awesome! I bet that would sound so sweet with the rf-7ii, i heard it with my rc-64ii and it was jaw dropping
  18. i have rf-7ii now, if find the sound kicks the 1993 la scalas butt that i had. To each their own i guess, it is a preference of sound and i believe that satisfies all arguments. Might have to find a different amp and pre that match them better
  19. The rc-64ii is awesome but the rf-7ii take the show. Timbre matched but not equal []
  20. even a terrorist cannot be dumb enough to put a bomb in a klipsch speaker. I believe there is a thread similar to this, maybe that one is more for klipsch seen in random real life places. I always do keep a lookout when watching a movie. I enjoyed seeing some quality Macintosh stuff in The Departed
  21. Sorry if you mentioned this but are you looking to get 3 other speakers and a subwoofer for a 5.1 system or do you want to just use your two speakers for a 2.0 system or do you want to just add a subwoofer? yada yada yada. That nad does look promising as long as it does not have any bad bugs. I would go for something else if you are just going to do a 2.0 system
  22. I would probably try to sell the rsw-10d if both of those paradigms are in good condition. Whether you are using them togethor or apart you will always have the option of putting them togethor and having matched subs. I remembered such an increase in bass and the bass sound quality when i added two subs (i was using 2 small velodyne dps-10s). Matched subs are also going to look better togethor, you always have nice stuff so i would say that matters to you. Then again shake is a promoter of using 2 different subs.
  23. Yep absolutely. This is the one output that is very easily split without much signal degredation. Feel free to split it twice and run 4 subs[] . I always liked the sound when i was running 2 subs.
  24. Mallette as i am sure you knew he said it was designed for laptop speakers. The effect was pretty good on my end. I agree about multichannel being the future of 3d i am sure there is going to be a dsp in the short future that boasts it or even a dsp combined with specific source material.
