  1. Well i am very very happy with my purchase. Not a scratch on the receiver, it is in perfect condition. Took a little bit to get it setup (have to set the speakers to small to get the subs to work). Sounds good but looks better. Came with all the original stuff, its like i just brought it home from the factory!!
  2. i believe you mean that you have not regretted selling your hdmi receiver rockon4klipsch? I am now confident on getting the receiver and am hoping the 100w satisfies me (the receiver weighs 50lbs so i am hoping it is a strong 100w). I am using a 1992 sony gx69es which is 100wpc right now. Works awesome but i would like to move to something with a subwoofer out. Really just been enjoying listening to music lately so i dont know what my home theater setup will be in the future. I will put up some pics tomorrow.
  3. Okay yours is a year newer than mine but seems extremely similiar except ive got the Elite logo and am paying $15 more... sounds about right lol. I would be interested to know how the sound compares with your 1910. Yeah i have found that i should be able to pick up a blu-ray player with analog outputs that completely handle all HD audio codecs for under $180 maybe even new. Look forward to getting this setup. Also am getting my bros 32'' vizio when i visit him on spring break. Should hold me over until i find that 55''/58''/60'' or hopefully 65''
  4. your ps3 should work fine with that receiver. You can toggle on the ps3 whether you want it to bitstream or linear pcm. I believe you want pcmas only the newer ps3 can bitstream HD audio.
  5. I have seen blu-ray players locally in the $100-$150 range with analog 7.1. I really do not need gaming capabilities so i am okay not having a ps3. I would think this pioneer would be comparable to a tx-sr707 in sound and power quality when i get a blu-ray player. The thing weighs over 50 pounds too which i like... Hm anyways just confirmed to meet the guy tomorrow. Maybe i will post some pics of the new receiver then.
  6. Are they still manufacturing blu-ray players with analog outputs? I really want to wait until near next winter to get another tv and will get my blu ray player then. Are these 100w going to drive my rf82s in stereo good enough? I use a mp3 player (slacker radio) to output music through the receiver, does this provide good quality decent bitrate music? Just had to ask my home theater buddies
  7. hmm okay i plan on picking it up tomorrow. At $165 it is worth it. Supposedly it is mint with original box and accessories. Which model did you get and how much did you pay if you do not mind me asking yura?? Sounds alot like mine...100x7
  8. well with the analog inputs i assume i can keep an eye out for a blu ray player which has analog outputs down the road to still get the HD codecs. I am torn because 165 is not alot of money but i still want a great receiver eventually.
  9. I am looking at a pioneer elite model which is used on craigslist. I found a decent price (165) on it but the thing debuted in october of 2002 (people were buying them from non authorized dealers for 850). It is dts and thx certified. Has preouts of course and analog inputs. Is there any reason i should not be buying something like this rather than looking for something newer? I actually just sold my tv so i am going without a tv for a few months and am just using my RF-82s with my mp3 player and radio right now. Eventually would like to use it for HT. Any input would be great thanks guys.
  10. $700 for a 4 year old tv that was out of warranty...jeez i would not be bad mouthing philips anymore if i were you. You can almost expect service on alot lcds after 5 year. Good for you!
  11. The receiver is from like 1992 so i cannot change speaker size like in new receivers. Yes thanks for reminding me to set crossovers. Cant wait to get this set up.
  12. AWESOME! Thanks alot. Nice to get some use out of this receiver and subs.
  13. off subject, a guy last night listed a pair of kg 3.5 on craigslist for $30 obo (one corner had damage) i called him up and he said he thinks he listed them too low. Grrr craigslist is not a appraisal site!
  14. I am settings up my 2 rf-82s exclusively for Stereo. I also have 2 velodyne dps-10 subwoofers that i really want to use. The problem is i am using a older (but pretty nice and real heavy) sony receiver. So my question to get this to work can i run the right output on the receiver to the right speaker level input on the first sub and then from there run speaker wire from the speaker level output to the right speaker. And then do that for the left side as well? The receiver does not have a subwoofer out.
  15. Cant believe a thread with this title does not have pics.[:S]
  16. Okay i just went to dolby and saw how i should position them a little behind the listening area and angle them towards the sweet spot. My rc-62 arrives tomorrow so i am going to watch my first movie with 5 new speaker (wow that happened quick). Unfortunately i do not have that great of a receiver but i should still enjoy it. Also i have 16 guage speaker wire, i am going to have to order some new wire eventaully does 16 cut it?
  17. Yes i will have multiple listeners only 20% of the time. I now need to research speaker placement. Should i have the surrounds facing me from the sides of the room if i was sitting in the middle?
  18. I say sell them and build up a budget. How did you acquire them for so cheap?
  19. Just talked to customer service and they say they do not have that bezel part for the f-3s! They are still in production but they cannot get me that part? Cmon klipsch
  20. I am fairly new too but i know this, your front speakers should match your center. You already have to rc-52, if you do not want to upgrade that go with the rf-52 floorstandings
  21. That is also very helpful. They will be used 70% movies, 20% games and 10% music. I really would not mind getting rs series surrounds. I just saw this deal and wanted to jump on it but figured afterwards how cheap you can get f-3s on a black friday. Oh well at 275 they should hold their value. Also i think they do pretty good to project sound at ear level if you are sitting in a couch that sits lower.
  22. Thanks wuzze, okay my buyers remorse is almost gone. The problem is that they just look like junk next to the rf-82s[] Floorstandings work great for me as far as space, i really do not have open wallspace to mount surrounds. I guess my plan is to keep these until i can find some reference floorstandings.
  23. Okay thanks for some great replys guys. Thought i was getting a GREAT deal at $275 but really nothing special. I got my rf-82s for $280 but did not think that deal would come around again. Also i am glad that bezel is not part of the driver, small things like that drive me crazy and i want to fix it if i can for cheap. Does klipsch ever show great customer service and send things like this out for free or only shipping .
