  1. I have the Sony Wega tv as well and just last week i was told I needed the XBR for progressive scan. Or high defenition..... Monty
  2. LOL probably so Mr. Blorry but would'nt it be so nice to have a retreate like that. You have to admire his devotion and determination for excellence. Too bad he dosent have klipsch speaker's. Would have made a much better HT.
  3. Hey Beday00, I was browsing a few day's ago and if I remember correctly you can find what your looking for at www.paradigm.com (or find link their) I don't know about pricing because I was looking at subwoofer's. Monty

  5. Thank's Dillon! The VELODYNE CT150 looks like you get more for your money vs the ACI Quake. Bigger magnets, Bigger box more wattage too. Unless I see something better (which I doubt I will under $500) I'm going with that one. seb: because subs get pounded alot I have to go with a new one, but thanks for the reply. Monty
  6. Fellow Klipsch Klan member's, once again I'm calling for help asking for your xpert advise. Please help me find the right sub for my system within my $500 budget. Ive been looking at down firing subs that have at least a 12" woofer. Today I came across a site that was selling the Quake w/ 2 8" woofers loaded w/ a 100w amp. This sub gets a lot of good reveiws from audioreveiw.com but I havent seen it get mentioned here. Any comments? ( keep in mind I cannot go over $500 what so ever) __________________________ Sony Wega 36" flat screen Sony DTS DVD Sony Hi-Fi VCR Harman Kardon AVR 65 Klipsch KG 5.2's Klipsch KLF C-7 center Klipsch KG 2.2's rear
  7. I just thought some of you would like to look at this site I found recentlly. This guy has gone to great lengths to create an awesome home theater. check it out.. http://home.att.net/~rfowkes1/HT.html This message has been edited by montigue on 07-16-2001 at 02:00 AM
  8. It's funny reading this because I was just at goodguys looking for a proggresive scan DVD to go with my Sony Wega. Unfortunetly the salesperson told me a progressive scan DVD would do me no good unless I had the XBR model. At first I was upset that I wasnt able to upgrade but then I realized now I have extra money to get me a real nice sub instead. I'm going to stick with the Wega and my $300 Sony DVD until the HD widescreen's are under $1500. It might be a while but i'm happy with what I got for now. ___________________________ Sony Wega 36" flat screen Sony DTS DVD player Sony HI-FI VCR Harman Kardon AVR 65 Klipsch KG 5.2 mains Klipsch KLF C-7 center Klipsch KG 2.2 rear's Can anyone give me some advise on a good sub under $500.00
  9. now look here all you "woofer sucker's" WEGA is the BEST!! quality over quantity is the rule of thumb for living life. If you all would just take my advise you would be happy campers.
  10. LOOK!! I said it before and i'll say it again. KLIPSCH are the best ever ALRIGHT!!! Don't make me open a can up on ya if your talkin $#!+ about Klipsch. KLIPSCH ARE THE BEST! BOSE WE USE FOR TARGET PRACTICE! WE NEED NOT TO SPEAK FURTHER ON THIS! KKM's RULE! Monty!
  11. Logik: The most important speaker in a HT system is the center channel. In home theater you will listen to that speaker more than any other speaker. Save yourself time on upgrading in the future and get the best one. My advise on the model would be the KLF C-7. remember that 75% of a movie will come from the center channel...don't cut yourself short Monty This message has been edited by montigue on 07-11-2001 at 12:19 PM
  12. Horned: You should post a pic of your system on this website. I'm sure lots of us here would like to see that awesome system you got. Monty KKM's rule!!
  13. yes it was a projection tv. I have to admit that the projection's have gotten a lot better than what they used to be but once agin I have to say that they just don't have the picture quality of the Wega's. For me picture quality is more inportant than size. Monty
  14. well im talking from experience here people because I had the 45" mitsu. I now have the 36" Wega. The Wega is much better. The colors are brilliant and the tube is bright and with very high resolution. The 45" mitsu I had was nice too but was straining my eyes not too mention you have to be right in front of it or you start to lose the picture quality. the 45" was great for movies but terrible for regular tv as well. _________________ Sony Wega 36" flat screen Harman Kardon AVR 65 Sony S360 DVD player Sony Hi-Fi VHS player Klipsch KG 5.2 main Klipsch KG C-7 center Klipsch KG 2.2 rear's

  16. maxspivak: Kg 1.2's would be your match. KG 1.5's would be the next best speaker. Ebay has the 1.5's on auction right now.(oiled oak) I'm going with the 2.2's as surround's because of the two 6" 1/2 driver's instead of one 6" 1/2 you get with the 1.2 or 1.5
  17. I havent A/B the two of them T-man but listening to the C-7 and looking at the KLF 10's schematics I can tell you for sure there is almost no difference between a KG 5.2 / KG 5.5 vs a KLF 10. It would be totally senceless to have a high end KG series speaker and want to upgrade to a KLF 10. But a KLF 30..that would be much better indeed. Same sound but just a lot more of it. who ever said the RC-3 would be a better match than the C-7 w/ the KG's is totally wacked out of there skulls. I listened to the RC-3 and it sounds like a aluminum can compared to the C-7. The RC-3 can't even hold it's own against the KG 2.2. 18. T-man, the difference beteen the KG's and the KLF's I noticed is that the KLF's have a higher treble sound to them. Also the KLF's have bigger magnets so there is more power coming out of them. You get more range of sound from the KLF's. Other than that they sound almost identical. KLF 10's are actually identical to the 5.5's. Very simular to each other.
  19. Hey T-man nice system dude. I didnt realize the 5.5's were so much slimmer and taller than the 5.2's. After looking at your room size I don't know if I would still recommend the C-7 for you. With the C-7 you would get a much more spaceouse sound but space is something you don't really have in that room. If you did decide to get the C-7 you could put it on top of the entertainment center. Monty
  20. After hooking up the 2.2 and listening to it I realize on thing...The C-7 is one bad *** speaker!! No comaprison what so ever. The C-7 even matches up tonally and with timbre just as good as the KG 2.2. Wow i just cant say enough about the C-7, it improved my HT system more than i ever thought it could.. AWESOME SPEAKER!!!AWESOME SPEAKER!!! AWESOME SPEAKER!!! AWESOME SPEAKER!!! AWESOME SPEAKER!!!
  21. this is a subject im interested in as well. What is bi-wiring. Ive seen it mentioned many times in this forum but I dont have a clue as to what it is.
  22. 6.1 huh ..hhmmm that would be cool to have a rear center channel indeed. But, before i invest in the 6.1 receiver I would have to see more DVD's come out in that format. I still dont see 6.1 being a mainstream format. I think the DTS is what everybody is going with now.. right? You have to admit that the sound formats are changing so fast its hard to keep up. I recently upgraded from pro logic to DD and DTS. (and what an awesome upgrade it was!!) but yet 2 other formats have came out since..6.1 and 7.1. Im all for a better sound stage but I think that the changes shouldnt be so fast. The 6.1 sounds appealing but if I do go that route I can garuntee I wont be upgrading anytime soon after. 24. thanks everyone for replying to my call for help. I was thinking tweeter or driver myself but like Bob G says could be one of the other drivers as well. Im so glad I found those two speakers because they match my oiled oak KG 5.2's. Ive been watching ebay everyday for month's to find them and it finally paid off!!
