  1. Have also been thinking of outdoor speakers. Something all weather and permanently mounted (difficult to walk off with). Conduit has been run for when it happens.
  2. Yup, their out there if you can just find em. Got 2 mc30's with preamp thrown in for the price you mentioned. Had them serviced and just got home with new to me Khorns yesterday. Time to set up and play some music.
  3. Question due to my ignorance. How about tapestry on the walls to reduce reflections? Possibly on inch or 2 from the wall? Might increase wife approval factor. Maybe Pendlelton wool blankest in attractive pattern etc. Or would it be better to mount something like this on insulation board? Just asking. John
  4. If your stereos will play A & B speakers, and you have 8 stereos, then you are at least 1 pair short of a full set. Nope The Madness never ends. Co worker said something about collecting and then going deaf. Stated if that happens, I'll crank em up and place my head where I can Feel the music! LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN---A DEAF MUSIC COMPOSERMy dogs have been more talented then I. But I still enjoy listening. Heard a small bird sing solo a couple days ago and it was Great! I'm trying to learn to enjoy some of the simple thing in life.
  5. I don't speak for anyone but myself. I am getting older, fatter, and uglier.
  6. like the fans. should work with stacking recievers in minimal space?
  7. Price of new went up, while whining and complaining I saw a Post for some used ones. Suppose to make the trip to pick them up next week. Stereo collection is still short of my "pop gun" collection. (Heh Heh) [] As for the Oak Klipschorns this summer? May be interested, just don't tell wife yet. Will probably have to hide em in de corners if and when. [:-*] The truth be told, we have already talked about another pair. When you're ready, and my finances improve, Lets talk. []
  8. Dang, Waited too long and price now $3,999.00. Was tempting but can't spend money I don't have. If I can't cover credit card at the end of month, just can't bring myself to charge it. Bills in one hand and desires in the other. Anyone looking to sell some in the future? Dad called me conservative.
  9. This is Great. II know it is an older post, but well worth my reading from beginning to end. I'm sold.
  10. Emailed Amy and got response "Yes, they are authorized, but please know the reason they are discounted is because they are NOT matching serial numbers." My question is How important is it to have "Matching serial numbers?"
  11. The price is now down to $2471.95!!! What is going on here? Wish I had the funds to grab a pair while they still have them! http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Klipschorn-Three-Way-Legendary-Walnut/dp/B000JQM14S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306149398&sr=8-1 Last look was $2410.15 each. Price seems to be dropping Plus or minus $100/day per pair. On the fence, don't see too many used pairs in my area.
  12. There is heat duct boxed in sheet rock 83" above the floor and 25.5" deep running full length on both sides of the room (long sides). The rest of the ceiling is 8' above the carpet. Room is 17' wide. I will be able to place one K horn in right hand corner near sliding glass window that has drapes. Have 3' from corner to sliding door & drapes. Will have to leave an inch or 2 for satellite cable I could set it in more with another false wall as I have 5.5' from corner to bedroom door. I can place a book case 22' from wall on left side in attempt to make left hand false wall. Bookcase is 4' high, 50" wide and 15" deep. Will have TV entertainment center centered between speakers. Opposite wall has fireplace that will be about centered between speakers. built in book case on left side when looking at speakers. Right side (the side with sliding door) has door to laundry room. The only way I can place the speakers is on the long wall. If indeed amazon.com is an authorized dealer, I'm scratching and clawing to get these if they will work (bills vs finance). Otherwise it looks like Cornwalls. SWMBO has given her blessing. Have to ask Amy! Thanks in advance. John W. Henderson.
  13. He grew another? [6] Naw, just got his second wind, or was it the 3rd? Lost count, he was such a devil when it came to the women. Would give us grand kids most anything. Motorcycle, custom coats. Sister was the only person I knew that had a full length Chinchilla fur coat in grade school. He was a good person and would buy bicycles for all the kids that didn't have one. It didn't matter if he knew them or not. Missing him for many years now.
  14. Looks Great. I hope one of mine sound as good as you describe yours!
  15. Friend of mine got one for $12 as is, and is still using it as is years later. Have to work the volume control some as he has never had it apart to De Oxit the controls or switches. I paid a little over 33 x's that for mine, and he thought I got a deal. Gota stay away from that little old stereo store. Seem to be going through 2nd childhood. Grandad made it to his second manhood and told the ladies he knew when he was younger they'd better look out. [6]
  16. Drool slobber, only one corner in the room! Maybe if I Promised to be Good and not buy anymore stereos and speakers, Snow flakes chance in the hot place. Wah Wah!
  17. Bump? Ignorance means my lack of knowledge. Stupidity means I knew better and did or did not do it anyway. This still a happening project? I saw this under "home" when I got off work yesterday morning, Had to look for replies from members that had replied, to find post. I thought a bump would move it back to under the home page. Seeking knowledge.
  18. Dave, Your Ladies have prettier feet then mine. Mine are very short and stubby. I actually had to lift it up and look to see them. I wonder if having the unit so close to table top would interfer with air circulation. I expect I'll put felt pads under the feet to increase the clearance and possibly air circulation some.
  19. Amazing that a few can lead to the censure the majority. I taught my kids to be open minded, safety orientated in the sports they participate in, and to be tolerant of others opinions. They also chose what activitys they want to participate in. I work with a GENTLEMAN that has different views on some subjects we feel strongly about. We have agreed to disagree, and work well with each other, treating each other with respect. We have chosen not to discuss subjects we disagree on. He is a great co-worker. John
  20. "Little girl"? Really? Maybe guns are part of your daily life and seem as mundane to you as the toaster and the lawnmower, but not everyone feels that way. There's no need to mock someone who thinks gun discussions should be on gun forums, not on an audio forum. I didn't see you complain when baby pictures were posted, or boat pictures. If you don't like it, or you find the subject offensive, move on to another topic. I'm sure there must be topics in this forum that do intrest "you". Otherwise you would not be here attempting to censure what others want to discuss.
  21. Home security. Have to protect stereo investment. But really, I thought of similar reply. Just couldn't help myself. Lots of sites for those of us who also collect guns. Not all of us are nuts though. CECAA850 you have Email
  22. John, is the Lafayette preamp you mention happen to be the KT or LT 600? That would be quite a duo to play on your Klipsch with the MC30s! Glad to hear you picked them up, as well. Dave, It is the KT 600. have not had the chance to listen to on Klipsch speakers yet. Lascala's are at my son's house. Time to bring some of that gear home as he's not using most of it. But he is using the Lascala's. Guess I going to have to order up some Cornwalls. And see if I can find out the difference between the KT and LT 600
  23. Have one with laser sights. went to 45 long colt for ammo after reading article where 2.5 chamber only penetrated 4 inches. Had to get the Judge after the Lady of the house decided I had not bought her a Birthday Gift. Busted Again! Hers has Laser sights also, and only weighs 13 oz. Keep 45 long Colt ammo in mine with enough time to get to one of the glocks, which should get me to Benelli. Benelli simi auto will dump 5 shots before 1st case hits the ground. The thing I like about the pump shotguns is the noise they make racking the action. It will get everybody's attention, and if someone is misbehaving, give cause to change their mind. And you should not be tempted to keep one in chamber (some of the time).
  24. On my way to pick up the Macintosh mc30's and had to stop and look at the used stereo store. I Know! BAD IDEA! Fisher 400 in original wood case just staring at me, or was it the other way around? Call placed to the shop where the Mac's were at, and walked out with the Fisher. Now Fisher is in the shop, and the Mac's and Lafayette Preamplifer are home. Told The Lady of the house I thought The Fisher would make a good bedroom set up, and she reminded me that my Grandmothers console stereo was suppose to go there after having it gone through. What could I say other then Your Right! Gotta buy more speakers! Anyone have opinions on the Cornwall III? I'd like to have one set of new speakers to go with the old ones I have. After that I may try the Cornscala. Another question concerns outdoor speakers. I don't mean that Chinese plastic $#!+. Would like waterproof and too heavy to be packed away. Possibly bolted to a concrete pad. Waterproof cornscala, or lascala built from marine hull plywood worth thinking/dreaming about. Does anyone make waterproof woofers that size that would work? Rains and the wind blows a lot at times. By the way, I also hit the CD store and bought some of the albums from the list I recieved on post for CD selection for evaluation of base in speakers. Have enjoyed each and everyone so far. Thanks to all. John.
  25. Now that makes it so simple even I can understand. Thanks
