Don't encourage them.  Northerners won't assimilate.

    Damn Yankees!

I'm originally form Michigan. I had a couple real good friends back in my young adulthood after I had moved to Ca. We worked together at Hughes Aircraft. One was from Texas the other from the Florida panhandle. We used to go camping together up in the Sierras. When it was my turn to cook and I'd grill up some chicken or ribs they would goof on me and say "Pretty good...for a Yankee"

Wow, absolutely cool.  It is produced by Tabor Hill, which is only about 30 minutes from me (and they have a great restaurant by the way).  Beautiful stop on the Michigan Wine Trail.

    Thank you for this!

Named for shelmelbackerburger or whatever his name was?

It's not one of those pretty heaters but it will run you out of here if I forget to dampen it down after lighting. I would like to replace it with one of those models with the glass doors so you can see the fire. We bought this one new 20 years ago and it's doing fine, about 1 inch of sand on the bottom keeps the bottom from burning out.

Is that the back of your house ?            We have seen the front driveway you were working on, if that's the back it's a million $ + view that probably cost much more than the price of the view. The top of a mountain doesn't come cheap, especially in California.

The one with me holding the shovel is the back, others are side and front. BTW I'm not on the top. Wish I were, many less drainage problems at the top:)

thanks Chris I'll try that.  Still wondering though,  is the Xilica like some other A/D devices where too low of an input level truncates some bit depth (and decreases fidelity?).  What if we put a line level(s) into the Xilicas and controlled the volume afterward before the amps?  Perhaps I just don't understand how they work.

The Xilica is a full 24 bit A/D and D/A processor. It does not truncate bit depth dependent on level. 0dbFS on them is +20 dBu. Remember these are made mostly for live sound speaker management where signals are very dynamic. In my home setup I still like to add input and output gain to mine to utilize more of their dynamic range. And make the meters dance a little:)

Klipsch overstates the sensitivity of its speakers. For example, the RP-280FA is rated at 98 dB but was measured to be 93 dB. You can read about that here: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/89-speakers/2980840-klipsch-rf-7-iii-speakers-review-3.html#post56552642

The RF-7 III is rated at 100 dB. If we subtract 5 dB from that spec, the continuous SPL with the 250 watt continuous rating is about 119 dB. With the 1000 watt peak rating, we get 125 dB. This is at 1 meter.
