How much are the tariffs and other import barrier costs
25 years ago US cars in Germany were marked up 300% at dealers
The cost of shipping containers to Europe is not that high

Unless you upgrade your woofer to a K-43 or an Eminence Kappa 15C, you only have the Second or Third Finest reproducer of the Human Voice.
Expand on this, first reason I have heard to change anything

Putting wings on a boat
LaScala is not designed for bass below 50HZ
I added a front firing sub as an experiment
I seldom feel the need to use it
LaScalas offer the finest human voice reproduction in the industry, IMHO
Forcing the LaScala lower may damage the speakers.
I would never do it

The best acoustics for concerts are the outdoor venues
no reflections, the audience provides damping to the front
Soft surfaces good
Hard surfaces bad
This includes the floor
The back wall opposite side of the room from the speakers must be sound absorbing
Book shelves, heavy curtains, or hanging rugs work or decorated absorption panels if you like art. The entire wall.
An area rug on the floor between the speakers and chairs works well
Everything hanging from the ceiling creates reflections, to measure would require removal and measurement, before and after.......
Windows with heavy curtains, open is better

I "notice" vocals predominately coming from the CT120 tweeters in my Cornscala's. My Forte II's present the vocals noticeably from the mid's. That's why I ask.
Play something that is just voice or voice and piano
take a magazine or pillow etc and cover the tweeters
then cover the mid
and determine where the voice is coming from.
A speech spectrum is either high-pass or low-pass filtered. Using an HP filter at 20 Hz (upper left) leaves the speech 100% understandable. (This is because the complete speech spectrum is there). An HP-filter cutting everything below 500 Hz still leaves the speech signal understandable. Even though most of the speech energy is cut out, the intelligibility is only reduced by 5%. However, applying a higher cut-off makes intelligibility drop.
The other way around, applying an LP-filter makes intelligibility drop very fast. When cutting at 1 kHz, the intelligibility is already less than 40%. It can be seen that the frequency range between 1 kHz and 4 kHz is of high importance for intelligibility.
This diagram shows the frequency dependent polar plots from 160 Hz to 8 kHz.
It can be seen that the directivity increases from approximately 1 kHz and up. Combining this fact with the importance of frequencies above 1 kHz it is obvious that higher intelligibility is obtained when recording in front of as opposed to behind the person.
Human talker, polar plots 1/3-octave intervals. Division 5 dB.(ref.: Chu, W.T.; Warnock, A.A.C.: Detailed Directivity of Sound Fields Around Human Talkers.)

It's a game of 1% improvements if you are lucky
but they do add up
Nice looking Industrials.
With all of the changes, how did/do you EQ the speakers ?
Are you able to perform a frequency sweep.

I use Waterfox
Waterfox is a derivative of open source Firefox
Optimized for 64 bits, all 32 bit code stripped out
All of the Firefox applets and add ons work fine
IMHO Chrome and MS Browsers are spyware

I was hoping for some sage advice on the Belden 9497 16 Gauge vs 12 Gauge Pyle Speaker Wire . Currently using the Pyle thinking less resistance was better for my CW1's.
Specifically looking at the Belden sold by HighEnd Audio Auctions - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Belden-9497-Speaker-Cable-16ft-Wire-Tube-Amp-Altec-Western-Electric-Shindo-/331941506380?
Audible difference?
Audible difference probably not
Belden makes superb cable
- twisted pair is std in the phone network to prevent crosstalk, 6 twists per ft (good feature)
If happy with the Pyle leave it alone
12GA is less resistance than 16, but in audio freqs probably doesn't matter
Shielded coax is the best, but unneeded unless you are running over noise emitting equipment or unshielded noisy wires

Some dealers reporting 10 month backlogs on vehicle orders by customers
Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index expanded slightly to 236.3 last month, up 45% from a year ago. The non-adjusted price change declined about a percent compared to December, leaving the unadjusted average price up 40.8% year-over-year.

2022 Camry
Crutchfield has ZERO replacement options
aka the factory radio can't be replaced
what a rip off

Though it may not happen....we're contemplating a 2022 which means it would not be an old unit in the car. Besides.... in these newer cars, "what" do you replace? What gets pulled out?
Crutchfield has many choices by vehicle, custom wiring harness adapters so you or the installer doesn't butcher your wiring harness
Choices include nav systems, I hate the flat panels in the new cars, block visibility and waste valuable space
12 minutes ago, Coytee said:Yesterday (reason it's taken me so long to respond) I had to drive 100 miles, put in a near 8 hour day, then drive 100 miles back home so didn't have time to do anything.
Anyway, last night on way home, I passed the Honda dealer, so on a whim, pulled in (2nd time, first time, they had nothing on the lot) Now, they DID have a couple Accord's, one was hybrid the other two were (I think he called them) 'Sport' models. They had paddle shifters. (can those also be driven as an 'automatic' I presume?)
I spent the last 6 months looking at and for a car
both new and used are dismal
Many dealers are charging $5-10K premiums for cars they have in stock
Apparently people who buy them for MSRP then sell them a few days later for a profit
Lines to purchase Treblants and moldy bread........
12 minutes ago, Coytee said:Wife would probably want a sunroof and none had that but I still got a chance to finally just look and see how it felt. Toyota dealer is 30 miles away so haven't looked there yet. One reason I stopped in is it's like pulling teeth to get "just a rough idea" of what their cost is.... when I asked, he still gave me a story, hemmed, yammered a bit.... talked about the OTHER guy who puts "$4,500" arbitrary markup fee on their car...blah blah blah...
$5K premium is wide spread
12 minutes ago, Coytee said:Finally, I just cut him off and said "so what you're telling me is it's sticker price, right???" to which I finally got my answer, yes. That was really the whole reason I pulled in. So now that I know they are (suggesting) that they are sticker price only, I can have a comparison idea.
It really gets me annoyed at some of the games they have to play. Oh, and I'm getting incessent emails from these folks (when I inqired online, I gave a bogus phone number because I knew what that would bring) None the less.... bunches of emails about how "we want your car".... I'm thinking, you know, if these are that hot of a commodity, then I'll just sell it myself. You don't want it and you're not going to get it.....I'll give it to my brother in law before I sell it to you. (they lost everything in Katrina and are still working on rebuilding their lives, and THEN, his wife gets diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer.... so any charity I have goes to them, not the dealer)
Used car prices are 40-50% higher than 2 years ago
If it's a good car, repair it
and yes there are parts shortages too

don't know of that one.. I know it's a Disney thing..
Tarzan is an Opera written by Collins & Mancia
Do an experiment
Next time you are watching a good movie
turn the sound off and see what's left
Tarzan was old Disney
any remake from the current Management would be un-recognizable
Soundtrack is Collins with Orchestra
and some great scores

My experience
Creative suite with their DAC works great for my headphones
haven't tried it on my LaScalas
This in on my industrial PC with quad processors, 16GB RAM, high performance video card etc
VLC Win 10 Dual core laptop on my McIntosh & LaScalas was terrible
couldn't keep up with the music, clipping etc.
Media Monkey EQ couldn't keep up either
My old school 1990s analog EQ sounds great defeating all challengers so far.
I would try several media players and see if any deliver good results on your PC or phone ...
Waterfox web browser for streaming movies, bitchute etc
VLC for watching movies from disks
Media Monkey for my 30,000+ songs on my NAS drive
5.1 system the DAC is a 10 year old Pioneer Elite THX system, with built in room correction and EQ
2.1 System DAC is an Emotiva XDA-1, EQ is a Sherwood 1990s vintage

4 different speaker designs
Closed cabinet, infinite baffle ported, passive radiator ported, fully horn loaded
Each design has trade offs
No speaker is better than every other speaker at everything
Any of the 4 you will be very happy
2 Heresys on coffee tables, plus a front fire sub-s sound great etc......
5 Heresy 5.2 system is a world beater
The LaScala delivers the best human voice reproduction in the Industry
it's weak spot below 50Hz is remedied with a decent front firing sub-s
For the music I listen to, the Sub is off most of the time.
If you like to hear the Angels singing, LaScala is the clear choice
The best sleeper in the Industry is the Forte
If rock is your vice, look no furthur
