  1. It seems we have the same interests. I have a passion for electronics, HT and cars. You are supposed to be my nemesis by the way, I have a 2wd Trailblazer SS. We must have a couple of screws loose to own 400+ HP SUVs
  2. Very nice setup, nice and clean install. Is that your SRT8 Jeep?
  3. Nice score! At that price you can add a separate amp if you think you need it. You will love your new receiver, congrats.
  4. The SC-35 is last years model. I picked mine up for 750-850 about a month ago. You might have to look around but they are still around, I think.
  5. You have beastly fronts, they will require a beastly subwoofer. In my humble opinion, the most money spent on speakers should be on the center an the subwoofer/ subwoofers. I bet dual Epik Empires would go great with your fonts......
  6. The 809 would be an excellent choice. I would also look and see if you can find a clearnce Pioneer SC-35( I am a little biased . They both would drive the hell out of the speakers you just purchased (congrats BTW)
  7. Like others have said, focus on the front stage. RF-83's, RC-64 and dual RW-12D's equals WIN! Run the wires for your 7.2 add just add the surrounds when money allows. That's my 2 cents.
  8. I have an SC-35 driving my reference 5.1 system. I love it! I was going to buy an external 3 channel 200 watt amp but after listening to this receiver for a while, I can't talk myself into adding an external amp( and I can usually talk myself into new gear . You will love the SC-35
  9. I just noticed that you and I have the same TV stand. Did you have any issues hanging that massive TV on it? I can't remember how big of a TV the manufacture recommended for it. I currently have my 60" LG mounted on the stand with no issues, looks like you aren't having any issues with a 70"......
  10. I bet you could sell a few of these......
  11. WOW! That looks great and I bet is sounds even better than it looks.
  12. You guys are fast! I thought I could finally add a productive thread... Guess not.
  13. I guess I should have searched a little harder. Thanks superdge88. Just watched Hot Fuzz because of the LFE ratings. These thing keep getting better and better!
  14. I just recently installed two LFE Buttkickers to my sectional couch. I am powering them with the Buttkicker BKA 1000-4A, I have the LFE's attached to the metal leg plates under the legs of my couch in each corner. I think this has been the single greatest upgrade that I have made in my HT setup. I am just wondering why more people on this forum don't use or talk about transducers. I turned down the gain on my subwoofers at least 1/4 and it feels like I turned them all the wa up and added two more! I had my brother and my nephew over last night to watch Dark Knight and my nephew(5 years old) said that it feels like the iron giant is beating against the couch, my brother just sat there wide eyed and didn't say anything haha. If you couldn't tell by my rambling, I LOVE THEM!
  15. Looks great in that room. Makes me want to upgrade my 60" now
  16. Ha, you are in Auburn, I live in Kirkland. I have RF-3 and RC-3 or my fronts also. What are you using to power your system? Never mind, I just read your profil, nice setup!
  17. At $150 you will have to buy a used receiver. I love Pioneer but there are many Onkyo and Denon receiver lovers on here also. Keep checking craigslist. I just sold my Pioneer 1019 AH on craigslist for $200. There are deals to be had in the used market.
  18. I was wondering if you guys thought that would be a good idea. I have RF-3 fronts, RC-3 center and I am currently using Monitor Audio Radius HD 90 surrounds. My receiver is a Pioneer SC-35, how do you think the RP-3's would sound in place of the Monitor Audio's? The reason I am asking is that the RP-3's have built in subwoofers and I am running dual subwoofers up front, do you think I could get them to play nice together with my Martin Logan abyss subs? I just thought it might sound great with four subs going, one in each corner of the room....
  19. Looks great bigload but you are in dire need of a new TV stand.
  20. In that price range I would consider the Emotiva Ultra Sub 12, it is on clearance right now for $379. It would pretty much best the SW-350 in every conceivable way. You don't have to match brands when it comes to subwoofer.
  21. How much are you paying for the SW-350?
  22. You have a good budget. If it was me personally, I would get a Pioneer Elite SC-35 on clearance. I got mine about a month ago to replace my Pioneer 1019ah and I couldn't be any happier with it. It drives my Reference 5.2 system with power to spare, I can only turn it up to -20 when watching movies and Reference level is 0! It also has pre-outs so you can add a amplifier down the road if you decide to get the upgrade bug. 140x7 I.C.E. amplifiers put out tons more power than I could ever use and our rooms are roughly the same size. If you ask this question 100x you would probably get 90 different opinions. Keep us posted on what receiver you decide on....
  23. Budget? Size of your room? Subwoofer/subwoofers?
  24. Looks great. How are you liking your new subwoofer now that you have spent some more time with it?
  25. I would think that the mentioned receiver would drive the mentioned speakers with no problem at all. I would set the x-over at 80hz and add a couple of subwoofers to take some of the " strain" off the receiver. I am no expert but that is how I am driving my reference system with a pioneer SC-35 and it will literally get too loud for me to take it. I watch movies att -20 to-15( there is no way I cold ever reach reference 0 on the receiver)and it is PLENTY loud and it sounds killer( for a modest system).
