  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1304919489Is this for real?. I've never seen Chorus II's go for that much ... heck, I've never seen cornwalls go for that much for a while. i almost sold a pair of black ones in mint condition for $600. well now i'm really keeping my spare ... out goes the KLF-20's so when a cornwall comes up for sale then I can afford to buy it. hope those don't sell for that much. let's see how high it goes ...
  2. hey TheEar ... no problem with you at all. in fact i read a lot of your post. i wasn't really serious with my reply - but i was serious about getting better equipments if I had the dough.
  3. so i guess the RF-7's are for those who can afford the high end electronics. well that leaves me out for I'm a poor man but do appreciate quality. I'll stick with my classic dinosaurs ... have to send 3 kids to college. maybe when they're all done then i can get me real equipments like TheEar's have.
  4. hagood ... in my house, my equipments and my ears here's what I have tested and the order of preference: 1. Chorus II (kept and now have 2 pairs) 2. KLF-20 (kept) 3. RF-7 (returned) 4. RF-3 (returned) I know that the RF series have great reviews but I just could not warm up to them. maybe it was my equipments - but hey, i needed to pick what sounded the best with what i had. and oh by the way, the chorus were the cheapest in price ... paid an average of $650 per pair. 5. thanks mike ... you're right though. we need to watch our expenses since christmas is coming up. i remember this time last year ... my wife let me buy my first home theather system ... Klipsch Quintets. i've upgraded everything a few times since then. maybe time to chill out for a while.
  6. i hear you too mike .... now will you really tell us how it looks and sounds before you bid the max price ... now that you know we're on the lookout as well. i'm just kidding. you're just in luck that it's so close to you. plus you're a good guy so you deserve it. besides, right now I'm more interested in the cornwall that's about 2 hours drive from me. i've not decided on it yet since i have 2 pairs of chorus II's - what in the world am i going to do if i liked the cornwalls better?. Please ... somebody tell me that the chorus' are better than the cornwalls.
  7. wow ... guess what? if my wife sees that in my house, yours truly will be the one hanging. must sound awesome though .... thanks for the reply ... i was just really curious.
  8. thanks kevin and klipschguy ... one or 2 more of the same recommendation then it's a done deal.
  9. how would the cornwall's sound near corners on both sides? trying to decide quickly since i may have an opportunity to pick up a pair. my bigger room won't be ready for another 6 months. thanks.
  10. thanks for the alert. i've asked for a picture of the speakers. hope it's in great condition.
  11. ok doug .... how do you put a forte on top of your TV? I have a 50 inch rear projection tv and i think the forte might be too big and too heavy to fit. also, are they shielded. thanks.
  12. hey mike or cornwall owners ... what improvement gain is there going from a chorus II to the cornwall's? also, is placement critical to the cornwalls - meaning can i put them closer to the backwall and sidewalls than the chorus'. thanks for any help here.
  13. so bobg ... which is your favorite Klipsch speaker?. just want to know what the real experts are listening to. I have 3 types of klipsch speakers which were bought based on reading from different members here ... all have their unique qualities.
  14. hey jim ... when you get your khorns, keep me in mind if you sell your cornwalls' ... thanks. gee, the RF crowd seems quiet - they're great speakers also ... so common, let's hear some from you guys. I just like learning about the strength's of each type of klipsch speakers. thanks.
  15. some folks here love the new RF-7's ... provided you have a really good system to pair it up with. with my modest setup at home, I compared the Chorus II's and the RF-7's and I just loved the sound of the Chorus' better so I returned the RF-7's. I know you were asking about the cornwall comparison ... well, it's definitely the most sought after speaker here - which is why I'm now looking for a pair for comparison. I would love to hear the RF-7's when properly setup ... then perhaps I would upgrade my components.
  16. Like I don't have enough speakers at home ... we'll here goes: are the cornwall's a huge improvement over the chorus speakers? - since i have 2 pairs of chorus II's I can sell the one i'm not using and get my hands on some cornwall's. anyone bold enough to say yes .. go for it!!! but you'd have to explain why ... thanks. 17. hey kubla84 ... i have the same exact speakers as you. Of course the favorite answer would be another pair of Chorus II's provided you have the room. I bought an extra pair but now can't use them since I could not fit them in my current setup. So ... For side surrounds I'm using RF-7's and it sounds awesome ... you can probably get away with the RF-3's depending on room size. I'm playing around with 6.1/7.1 setup and currently using quintets for rear surrounds and I'm in the process of finding a replacement ... they're just too small. Folks in this forum recommends direct radiating speakers for the back. Don't you just love your chorus II's?.
  18. I vote for one ... since I'd rather sell or buy from folks here than on ebay or ubid.
  19. hey guys ... thanks for the replies. they are now furniture until my wife says so. I'm still trying to figure out a way to hook them up without her knowing .. it's kind of hard though since the proper placement for them as my surrounds ... well let's just say she'd walk right in to them. No way of hiding these guys. I still have a pair of legends positioned behind the chorus II's i'm using. These will be used for trading up someday ... maybe a cornwall.
  20. hey ray ... i second ross' comments ... WOW!!!
  21. does anyone know if there are mounting brackets for the RB-5's or RB-3's? thanks.
  22. hey doug ... thanks for the reply. i need speakers that i can hang. My back wall (actually it's open in the middle) is about 7 feet from my couch and the RS-7 side surrounds are about a foot behind my couch and 6 feet up. Actually I tried the little, itty bitty quintets and even after giving it a 8db gain it stil was not adequate. I also read somewhere that a direct radiating speakers is recommmended which is why i did not consider another RS-?. What to do, what to do? Anyone out there ever try to hang the RB series ... without difficulty? or maybe a pair of KLC-C7's?
  23. hi kain, as ross outlined you need to use the analog inputs to take advantage of built in HDCD processor from your player. better yet ... on my denon 3801, i'm using the EXT IN - this bypasses all the receivers surround circuitry. Played in this mode, ordinary CD's sounds better and when you play an HDCD disk ... well, it's awesome!!!. sorry ross .. but there really is a big difference.
  24. what's the best speakers to use for rear surrounds? they need to be the ones that you can hang ... for side surrounds i'm using RS-7's. front speakers will either be the legend line or the R?-7 line. thanks.
  25. get the HSU VTF-2's ... they put the KSW-?? to shame. it's less than $500 and it's self powered. don't know enough about the SVS subs so i can't comment on them.
