Fishing question, total buzz kill.  Just kidding.  He's so secretive about that stuff it's scary.   I guess maybe because you can't patent it.

So @ZEUS121996 in bass lures, is it science, superstition,  or snakeoil?

    Travis,

I think you're messing with me.

All of the above. The science behind the lures is way out there. Shape, sizes, scent, action are all variable. Snakeoil? I have a box full of lures I can't catch anything with but trees. And superstition would require me to go basic plastics along the banks, and buzz baits, well because when you go fishing you always catch something. Maybe just a buzz, buzz baits seem to intensify the effect of the beverage. 😛😛

He can fish ok, I think he has the fish trained and they know they will get released.

But you could talk speakers with him, if he can explain things to me so I can understand it you would have no problem. He is easy to talk to and talks to me in a way he knows I will get it. I know this because I have heard him talk about things past where I would bother to go, to me if It sounds like the best I have ever had or heard that's most of what I need to know.

It is very interesting and shocking how many things are considered designing and testing something new, you have  to love it to do a good job at it. Not even counting the knowledge and experience from 30+ - years and to have been working with a great teacher.

LMAO, he has them trained to know they will be released. So, barbless?

I've talked with Roy about fishing, he keeps that simple too. Try this lure with this rig. Sometimes he gets it right which is amazing because he goes off weather reports here?

I think he could talk to anyone, he's that kind of person. He can also put them in their place. lol

Yes; OP can and will do whatever he likes.  Just was a bit disappointed by some of his responses ... for example, "why are you trying to talk me into Pro speakers ... are they 5 times more expensive" ... this was after a poster told them they were "cheaper." :D  Does he think we get a commission on Pro speaker sales here? :D  Also, OP seems to be "closed-minded" about suggestions made in this thread. :(  Oh well; we have tried to welcome him and give our opinions ... guess certain "newbies" just do not appreciate it :(

You've been here under 2 years and you call him a newbie? And tell him he's closed minded after he said he doesn't want PRO? Who are you to tell anyone they need to listen to anything? Maybe a lot of folks should have left it alone when he said he wanted Heritage NEW and welcomed him instead of hammering away

I will say he knows alot, just depends on what were talking about.  Sometimes I wonder, he says things I just can't understand, and for good reason, he needs to break it down to one cylinder at times. I didn't make that up, I stole it.

Rumor has it he can fish a little bit too! I wouldn't try and talk speakers with Roy, my knowledge is I know when I hear something I like.

I've heard the opposite too, that La Scalas sound thin compared to Cornwalls. But I've always heard Klipschorns sound the best. This is all very interesting.

I only buy new when it comes to audio equipment.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I have to agree with Jimbo, the Khorns are the speaker to have if you want to stay in the Heritage line. I have a pair of 2007 AK-5 Khorns I bought used for a fair price, I had another pair,  also had CW2s and verticals (Is) I kept the verticals, they sound different. I've listened to LaScalas a lot, they have a better mid than the CW but the bottom end is slightly lower on the CW. Buy the LaScalas and get a sub since that's what everyone says. Personally I think they sound great on their own.

dtel: Verna and I have tried all 3. But, the best one, in our humble opinions, is the Casamigos Reposado, which is aged about 1-1/2 years. Very smooth, detailed with a buttery-peppery finish.  That is the one I believe you've tried with us. -Glenn

I don't know if the anejo is worth the difference in price compared with a reposado from the same company. Blanco is usually not close. Agreed?
