I’m usually only online late at night. These companies don’t publish their sales numbers or you’d know exactly how many 70th anniversary LSII’s were sold. However, I live in NYC and there’s quite a few B&W dealers around me. When the D3’s came out I was working with stereo exchange about trading in mine on a pair. They couldn’t keep them in stock. Every time I tried to listen even the display models were sold. There were numerous on the floor in boxes tagged sold every time I went in. There’s a lot of money in Manhattan. I wouldn’t be surprised if Stereo Exchange personally sold over 70 pairs in 18 months. That’s just one of many stores in my city lol they’re made in England and much more popular over there. I have zero doubt they sell more than 70 pair.

Since you challenged us lol B&W diamonds sell for more and sell more than 70 pairs in 18 months

Can anyone running atmos with these give your opinion? Any good? Worth the upgrade?
-
If you get the Fry’s email the promo code gets you the $400 atmos speakers for $198 with free shipping. That’s a smoking deal. I’ve been watching used ones go for $350 on eBay. If you don’t get the emails you can sign up for them. I’m on the fence with this myself. My current pre/pro doesn’t have atmos. If I order this I know what’s coming next lol

They’re definitely interesting but I think they’re priced high. I looked at a pair at least 5 years ago and the guy was only asking $1500. Here’s a similar pair only asking $1000 http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649396362-anthony-gallo-nucleus-refernce-3-loudspeaker-system/

That’s ridiculous to spend that much money on a pair of speakers and no one willing to walk back and check the serial numbers

Those woofers are meant to be in a big enclosure. I don’t think they’d get the space they need in a atmos friendly enclosure. Parts don’t come up often either. Id recommend looking for a pair of RB-75’s. They really are like bookshelf sized RF-7’s (very large bookshelves) I own both. If you haven’t heard the RB-75’s I think you’d be surprised. They’re also much more shipping friendly.

Wow, they’re coming down quick. Might have to start looking for a place to put them lol. If I was @Pete Mote I’d be trying to get a price adjustment. Most credit cards offer it. If you’re still within the return window with adorama you could tell them you’d do a return/rebuy. Hopefully they’ll take care of the difference

As a fellow NYer I’ve been seeing a pair listed nearby in jersey for quite a while. Good price, no affiliation https://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/ele/d/klipsch-klf-20-main-stereo/6608632761.html

Actually just looked on eBay. There’s a no reserve auction for a b&k amp and preamp that might go cheap and work well for you. B&K Reference 5 Stereo Preamplifier and 2 Channel Amplifier https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302757633776

Yes, all preamps. I’m not currently home but I believe they’re all mint with box, remote, and manual. I wasn’t really planning to sell, so haven’t looked up value. I think the PT series usually goes for around $200. The reference 5 would probably be about double that. I don’t think I want to sell that one anyways. If interested I’ll gather more info.

Hmm... I don’t like selling gear. If you decide to go with B&K I’ve got the PT3, PT5, and a reference 5 all sitting in boxes. I suppose I could part with one of them. I do have B&K amps, but nothing I want to sell now. I am using B&K amps on all my RF-7’s. They do pair nicely. I’m in NYC

He’s offering a great price on the center and surrounds as a package. Nice find

I was kidding. Just happened to come across a pair for that exact price. What area are you in? If I find an actual good deal I’ll send a PM. I’m always looking

Careful what you wish for lol https://newhaven.craigslist.org/ele/d/klipsch-chorus-1/6570276788.html

I’ve bought from them in the past. I never had an issue, but I’ve read through the comments of people that did. It’s going to depend on the manufacturer, but some people have had warranty issues. As others stated a lot of times there’s a long wait to get your item. I’ve read some quality control issues of them mass producing the stuff. Some have different model numbers and is branded a massdrop product, which also lowers resale value. Unless it was a ridiculously good deal, I’d probably buy something like an amplifier elsewhere. For the reasons mentioned above it’s probably not worth the risk.

Fry’s has a good deal on the Klipsch SW115 with a whole jamo 5.1 setup for only $719. I’m not sure what the Jamo’s are worth, but they look decent. I’d be tempted to buy it at that price and try to sell the Jamo speakers EDIT: Nevermind.. picture shows R series sub but just realized it’s the SW. Not as good of a deal as I thought https://www.frys.com/product/9455421?nearbyStoreName=false&site=monlanding051418&clickid=3NVwceV8pQXiVOUz57y7uRXiUkjy6NU112G0SE0

You ordered them? Congrats! You’ll have to post some pics of them. I hope they arrived safely. Let us know what you think too.

I live here. He’s had these listed for a while. Initially he had them listed at $2500. Before they stopped production I could have bought them new in the box for $1500-1600. I think he’s priced way too high.

They dropped the price another $200 each to $3099 https://www.adorama.com/kplascala2aw.html?emailprice=t&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_source=rflaid62905

Beautiful speakers. I’m not sure what a good price would really be on these. They’re listed at $6999 each. Adorama has a promo code: SPRINGTIME That brings them down to $3299 each. Free shipping. Has me tempted. https://www.adorama.com/kplascala2aw.html?utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_source=rflaid62905

No affiliation. Looks like a good deal for someone in an area where stuff doesn’t come up often. KLIPSCH REFERENCE SERIES RF-83 FLOORSTANDING SPEAKERS https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132579313605

What are you looking to improve? The 7200 is a nice receiver, but I don’t don’t think you’ll hear much difference vs the current Denon you’re using. I think your money might be spent better elsewhere in the system. Just my opinion
-
Man, I’m really sad to hear that. They make such great products. I can’t believe they’re closing the doors. Probably because everyone seems to be buying their media digitally these days. I bet these players are going to increase in value. Good luck with your sale. I tried playing a 4K movie on an Xbox one S, and preferred the picture from my old Oppo BDP95. Great players.

You are correct. That’s a Cerwin Vega woofer. Looks like one of their cheap car audio subwoofers lol example https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_272_Cerwin-Vega-HED-12SVC-12-Single-Voice-Coil.html
