  1. If you like the way they sound that's all that really matters. You can easily go down a rabbit hole if you start chasing better or improved.

Beautiful cabinets! And a log home as well.

  2. From PAKALOU:

Hello to you American friend, I would also like to upgrade from the forte III to the IV, it’s a bit expensive though! but since I blew up the tweeters with my HINT6 parasound amp, I think I really need to do it! For the moment I used JBL 2412H which sounds very good with it!! otherwise I think you have to be very careful with the phase. You need to recheck the wiring otherwise you lose all the beauty of the stereo and the bass cancels out from one speaker to another and maybe even the treble, so check your phases of the external cable but also all the internal wiring!

I have an 88. Not so big. The boy's MustangGT was the same size.  This car has a few cross-country trips on her.

the most fun car I've has was a '71 Datsun 510. That little car would go anywhere you pointed it

My late wife had an early '70s Datsun 1200. Not long after she got that, I was able to get a Datsun 620 pickup (I think), maybe 1974. Those were great vehicles.

  4. Wife tested positive for Covid this evening.  That means I also have to stay home until this coming Thursday. If I test positive  then I stay out until I'm negative  for a prescribed period. I'm negative  at the moment.

At least we can do some work from home.

  5. @babadono don't know if you read the paper romance Peavey. If u live in a standalone home it probably won't apply,  but in a building that's fed by a 208 volt transformer, this bears repeating.

When we hook up audio equipment in a building that has the 120 volts required, derived from a 208 volt three phase system, we are faced with more than a 60 Hz ground
loop, we end up with 60, 120, and 180 Hz ground currents, that get into the audio system.

The would normally be installed in the mains panel,  but could be put in a separate box in the audio room if you were careful.

  6. Those look really nice. Not quite a JBL blue, a little more subdued (unless it's the lighting). I think the finish on the birch looks fine.

I have black HIIs, and keep thinking I could have them natural, but it's always a guess what's under the paint. Sometimes it's mismatched veneer. Plus, black cabinets tend to disappear after a while.

  7. Here is the document from Peavey about a balanced electrical system. It's basically a 120 volt transformer with a center tap that the connects to the downstream ground. each of the hot wires are then 60 volts. This is worth reading.

Are you in your own home or a in a building that has a 208 volt three phase system for the building? If so, the way the 120 line is derived could be the problem.

  8. I wish I had been more with it when I was younger. I saw Albert King in Chicago in the late '60s. He was living in Memphis when I lived there in the late '70s. If I had more nerve and knew it I should have looked him up. I've met a few folks, but I should have gone out of my was to find them a reach out. Ha! It was pre internet.
