  1. Cookie for the one who gets it right....
  2. The build is Curly Maple, Walnut legs. I can't even remember the dimensions exactly, but 6 1250's is pretty close There is some trick wrapping around the maple shelves to keep the curls running vertically along the edges. It is fully knock down-able, and you can remove/install 1 shelf at a time. The top shelf can lift off as well. I thought this would be nice to be able to do... It also has some spike feet that you cannot see.
  3. Put about 6 1250's on it, and you will be maxed out.
  4. That was all the man! He suggested this, and boy did it turn out to be quite sexy. The dovetail's stand proud and say, "check me out!"
  5. Nope! But a very good guess... I did take the idea from one of their racks, but had a master craftsman do the deed with some very special extra touches.
  6. Ok, let's play a bit... Who made this Rack? If you know about this project, STFU! You don't count...
  7. Nothing wrong with the 2330B.... It seems to be a tad more analytical sounding than the older Marantz gear. Not a bad thing, but not my preference. The 2330 is just so beautiful in the midrange and very dimensional. Something that really stands out to me.
  8. The 1250 is very tough to beat. Your best chance sonically, is the Marantz 2330 (not the 2330B) receiver. This is head and shoulders above any other Marantz receiver IMO. Power wise, you could get a Marantz 2385, and it would compete power wise, but that is where the similarities end. One could very well prefer the 2330 over the SX-1250. It is a matter of tastes. I love them both!

    What I Got Today!

Thank you Rodney! Always a pleasure...
  10. Yep! That be some BIG JBL..... No doubt a very nice sounding setup there. The Speaker shop owner I do business with has something similar. He literally had the ceiling tile bouncing pumping a 19hz sine wave through them. Then he played some score from some movie through them, and the dynamic range was off the charts. I was mighty impressed.
  11. These are for those that do not believe interconnects make a difference. Try them and see for yourself.... The Antipodes make everything easier to "see" if that makes sense.
  12. There are like 9 opamps in the tone section and 2 on the phono. Did you replace all these?
  13. This is interesting... I have successfully upgraded opamps in these in the past, but never really could get all the solid state sound out of this amp. I will be looking into this upgrade! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
  14. That is a very gooooooood receiver. Either one of them.
  15. I got a bench that raises and lowers electrically. I can work sitting or standing, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It is just a huge corner office desk, basically.
  16. My money is on this..... Hard to believe a power cord failure, even if all the wires shorted together, would cause the amp to fail. I very seriously doubt that a lifted earth would cause this either. I think the amp just decided to crap out.

    What I Got Today!

LOL! Rotney... Schu, the Wyred DAC uses the Vishay resistors in the output stage. This has nothing to do with what Totaldac is using them for. Totaldac makes the entire DAC out of these resistors. R2R based DAC. There is no DAC chip in the Totaldac. It is a fully discrete DAC. That is why it is very expensive. There are over 200 of these foil resistors in the Totaldac Rodney has. You'd sell your Wyred real fast if you heard the Totaldac.
  19. Why don't we let the OP continue his classified ad. You're certainly welcome to post elsewhere about your good Samaritan activities. -The Police From what I can see, Craig never said he was looking to make the repair. Sounds like his experience talking... What's wrong with that? Better yet, what is your beef with Craig? That is clearly what is really going on... Guys, If you were selling a used car in the local paper, would you welcome "well-intentioned" people interfering with your transaction? That's all this is, some guy trying to sell some equipment. Why not show him the courtesy of letting him do his business. It is really not that difficult. Ok, enlighten me. Just how is any of this keeping the OP from selling the piece?
