  2. Great deal for someone! Enjoy them while you have them. I am a little too far and a little to poor at the moment. Best of luck with the sale.
  3. This is the only decent pair of La Scala that I see listed in the Chicago area, if you sell some of your speakers: http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/3985242785.html I would want to see the veneer job in person, before buying.
  4. These sell for $4,000 per pair new. This beautiful pair in cherry finish, plays perfectly. The speakers have sequential serial numbers. The titanium drivers of the midrange and tweeter horns sound faster and better than the previous versions of the Cornwall. The speakers can be bi-wired, bi-amped, or played as conventional speakers. The terminals accept bare wire, pins, banana plugs, or spade tips. The speakers are so efficient that you can play them with your iPhone's headphone jack! These go loud enough to fill an auditorium, so you'll not want for volume. They also go down to the low 30 Hz frequency range, so you WON'T need a subwoofer. Keep these for the rest of your life - they'll play perfectly! The only reason I'm selling them is that I plan to downsize to a much smaller house and I won't have room for them. My loss is your gain - scoop these up for LESS THAN HALF what a new pair costs! http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/ele/3989436842.html No Affiliation.
  5. Depends on the deal you find. You might also be happy with this: CF-3 http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/3993914063.html The KG 5.5 basically the same as the KLF-10, but front ported: http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/ele/3966028702.html Either would be a good purchase until the right pair of Chorus or Forte come along. I had a pair of KG 5.5, very good bass punch, but this deal also comes with a SW. Moray James will tell you how much he likes the Klipsch Epic series.
  6. The La Scala is only 5.5" wider than the Chorus (II), but about 9" deeper. The Chorus (like the La Scala) is front ported, so it is easier to position. The Chorus II has a 15" passive radiator on the back so it will need to sit off the wall a bit (like the Quartet and Forte). CL didn't have any Quartet, Forte, or Chorus in OR or WA. You might also consider a KLF-20 or KLF-30, they are rear ported, so they will need to be off the wall a bit.
  7. If you have a bit more room you should consider some La Scala, these are about 300 miles from you: http://medford.craigslist.org/ele/3980494889.html Good luck with your search.
  8. Location would help. Budman has been looking for one. Good luck with your sale.
  9. White washing them is a horrible thing to do to a pair of walnut oil Klipschorns.
  10. I have a Yamaha MX-800 and it is a great amp, I am sure this one is too. Lots of good info at: Legendaryamps.com Good luck with your sale.
  11. Not sure, the Klipsch description says they came in: FINISHES: Walnut, Mahogany, Dark Mahogany, Prima Vera From the label: The S is for model, the M is mahogany and the 2 is likely the stain, since there is a 7 as well. The natural mahogany would likely be light or no stain. The top looks like mahogany grain to me. The front, it is hard to tell.
  12. Satin finish natural mahogany: You can find the info for the finishes here: http://itishifi.blogspot.com/2009/04/1957-klipsch-pricelist.html
  13. The Klipsch Chorus II is the ultimate option for your listening pleasure. Hear powerful bass notes and crisp treble tones with the impressive frequency response featured on this Klipsch speaker. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/ele/3971530929.html No affiliation.
  14. Very nice looking. Good luck with the sale. They should go quick at that price.
  15. I think they switched from the Tru-sonic 103LX to another woofer right around 1960. The Tru-sonic woofer (blue) is the more desirable of the models, people collect them. I only have a single myself (pictures in this thread): http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/168726.aspx Good luck with the sale.
  16. I emailed him and never heard back. The posting is deleted. We will see if it returns at a much higher price. Yep, back at $200: http://stlouis.craigslist.org/fuo/3964848106.html
  17. Typical Forum protocol is not to comment on price. Speakers are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them. However, in your original post said: "Make an offer, but please, do not offend me with an offer less than $800, I won't even respond." I think that is the comment on your part that invited some criticism. The forum is a friendly place and we typically don't offend people on price and prefer PM messages to discuss pricing issues. We also prefer photos posted and a firm price, this is not a bid site. I have been watching the prices in the Chicago area for 2 years now and prices range from $400-$700. (I have driven for 3 pair of orginal Forte paying: $150 with electronics, $160 with electronics, and $200, all in good condition). I have seen higher, but not often. Hogfan, provided some useful info. You may get your asking price, but it may take a while. You might find a buyer faster on eBay. Just a word of caution, this statement comes across as rude. We are a friendly bunch here. We do pay attention to how long people have been members and how much they contribute (post) to the forum, these factor into our trust for the seller. I would post some photos to show the condition, that is the best way to showcase what you are selling. Good luck with the sale.
  18. They look like Forte II, with KG .5 or 1.5 rears and either a KG 2.2V or an Academy center. The reviews for the Pioneer receiver say there was an issue with the DSP board on some of these receivers. Good package deal though, especially if it is an Academy.
  19. Solid walnut cabinets would be rare. They are more likely walnut veneer over birch plywood, like the rest of the heritage series. I have a few pair of original Forte, they are great speakers. Good luck with your sale.
  20. May still be available: http://dayton.craigslist.org/fuo/3933743007.html
  21. Klipsch La Scala Speakers - work great and in very good condition. I actually have two pair, the second pair is not in as good of condition and I will sell for $795. Call for more information. 913-207-4236 http://kansascity.craigslist.org/ele/3938051811.html No affiliation.
  22. I emailed him recently and the RF-83s had sold. He thought the guy might buy the RC-64 too, but he hadn't yet.
  23. I think wbroshea still has his available: http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/173386.aspx
