  1. Boa, first off, thanks for reply. Accessories4less only had one vsd-2 left @ 3m (I just need 1m). As far as the Cardas power cable, I have been looking at that at audioadvisor. Malcolm, thanks for the reply as well. I will check out audioasylum forum for info. aab
  2. Plate sub amp from partsexpress for 129.90 with 250 watts and hold on to or sell the Rockford amp. Just a suggestion. This message has been edited by aab3rd on 02-23-2002 at 01:35 PM
  3. I am getting ready to upgrade my digital connection from my DVD player to my pre/pro and my power chords for my amp and pre/pro from the stock chords. I now have a Monster Toshlink lightspeed 100 for the digital cable and want to upgrade to a good coax for $100 or less. As far as power chords go, I want to spend no more than $100 on each of them as well. Any suggestions?
  4. IMO I would buy the surrounds and use a phantom center. You can test this first before you buy either by trying the phantom mode first. If it sounds good buy the surrounds. Also, I hate to see people buy something that will only be used for a little while(i.e. cheap surrounds). Just wasting money IMHO.
  5. They are factory wired, not kits. Here they are.
  6. My C-7 sits on top of my 55" Hitachi RPTV just like HornEds did and has been there for three years without any problems. Of course, if it did fall through it would be an excuse to tell my wife we need a new HD ready TV.
  7. Goon, If you would like to have floor standing rear surrounds I have a pair of CF-1s for sale. PM me if interested. BTW they are walnut.
  8. I know a lot of people have Yamaha recievers with front effects. Most if not all seem to like the effects. My question is this: Since I run separates (presently Parasound AVC1800 pre/pro (Outlaw on order) and the Marantz MM9000) I was wondering if you could simulate the front effects with an old pro logic reciever like some people have done with the rear center chanel.
  9. They have the 4638 on sale right now for $216, check it out here . What about this sub? You can not beat the price. They have a little over 300 of them.
  10. The Cornwalls would have more bass for sure, but I would not say that the Chorus' have "no bass". BTW if you end up not getting them let me know. I would be interested in them and am only 2.5 hours away in Bolivar (below Jackson).
  11. I agree. If I did not have separates I would probably get the Denon 3802 myself (only after trying the Outlaw reciever here ). I am waiting on the outlaw 950 to replace my Parasound AVC1800. This message has been edited by aab3rd on 02-18-2002 at 10:03 PM
  12. I would not go with the RC-3 with the Synergy set-up. I would opt for the Paradigm sub. It is a better sub than the KSW-15. The only thing else I would say is that even if I had to hold out a little longer I would get the Reference line. You will be happier in the long run. One way to save some money at first is to not get the center and use phantom mode for center.
  13. There is an academy newly listed on e-bay for those who are interested. Here is the link.
  14. A better way to do it is to remain seated in you listening position and bribe someone with beer to move the sub around while you test/listen.
  15. Since I will be driving I can pick up anyone at the Little Rock airport if needed. John, if you drive 64 you come through Bolivar and we could ride together if interested. (Or for that matter I-40 to Jackson and down to Bolivar.) I will drive from here in exchange for a free place to stay the next time I go white water rafting in your end of the state . 16. jperrewe, I was out the night of the 13th so I placed my reservation of the night of the 14th and recieved my confermation on Sat 15th. I do not know where I am on the list but I hope I am in the first run of product that will be flown in. The second run will be boated in. I am ready to get back to 6.1 since I sold my Parasound CSE 6.1 to someone on this board and now only have 5.1. As far as the 750/770 decision I would opt for the 770 if money permitted. If you do not need the extra 2 channels now you might wish you had them later. As for me, I will probably wait to see the reviews on the 770 since I am satisfied with my Marantz amps. I would really like all channels in one box though.
  17. Geez, I am glad I got mine for $375. Anyone want to buy them for $850. I might go with matching KLF20s for rears then!
  18. I too am waiting on my Outlaw 950. I have been extatic about the reviews on the 950. I use a Marantz MM9000 for 5 chanels and a MA6100 for the rear center. I may get the 770 and use one chanel for a SVS if it is as good as the 750. BTW once I get my 950 I will be selling my Parasound AVC1800 if any one is interested.
  19. In my old HT room I had a pair of KSF-S5s mounted on the cieling. It was ok for 5.1 (no 6.1 then). IMO side walls would be better but we have to deal with what we have. Now I have KSP-S6s on the side and a KSF-S5 on the rear.
  20. Thanks for the input! Horn Ed, as far as the use of a KLF-20 for center, I have considered that after reading your posts. I just need to find a single in good shape to mod. I an a little leary of Mo on e-bay and i have not seen any other single 20s. What about a KLF-10 as opposed to a 20 BTW? I would like to go with 20s all around but the room (because of a door and the computer hutch) will not allow it. Keith, if I go with a direct radiating rear center, the S-5s will be for sale. BTW they are white which look good in my room (as well as the fact that my S-6s are white). This message has been edited by aab3rd on 02-17-2002 at 04:36 PM
  21. I for one plan on attending! Any one else?
  22. Yea Mobil, I know. The only reason I bid (the first bid for this item) was that I wanted to lock it in. A few weeks ago I was going to bid on a Cambridge Audio CD4SE CD player. I was going to wait until the last minute. After two days into the auction with no bids it was retracted. I learned my lesson. Now I bid low to lock it in and wait.
  23. I saw that EICO set up and I am the second highest bidder "at the moment". I hope I am not bidding against anyone on this forum.
