  1. side surrounds KS-525s. Mounted and installed. still need to dial in completely via the SPL meter.
  2. 4th floor theater room looking down towards entrance. future resting place of the popcorn machine.
  3. Makers 46 with some Whiskey stones. Perfect sunday evening .
  4. Darn near completion still awaiting 2 more KS-525s and an Anthem A2, and a Popcorn machine for the bottom of the stairs.
  5. Nothing bad on Denon but go with the pioneer or pioneer elite. I have had several denons and they are very neutral sounding which I like but not the best paired with Klipsch in my opinon. I am not trying to offend denon fans here I had the 4303 recently and it was a great receiver I just prefer the sound from B&K or Pioneer or Harmon Kardon with Klipschs.
  6. Welcome to the forum mate. The KGs like Willand pointed out are decent for HT but will be difficult to completely pair up. Not to say it cant be done but it may be more trouble than its worth and the upgrade to Reference speakers would in the end be easier and sound better. There is a slight difference between the I and IIs mainly the horn loaded tweeter. Either are phonemonal and would bring a smile to your face during movie time. To save on the cash a little I think you would be extremely happy with pairing up a first gen and you would most likely not need to upgrade for a very long time. Me im OCD and picky and the marks would bother the crap out of me on those beautiful speaks. If you dont mind all the power to you but im crazy. You can get replacement drivers for cheap if those towers are a good deal. Check local craigslist add as you might find a nice set up for sale including a RC-62 etc.
  7. +1 for the pioneer vsx. Of all the brands I have listened to with klipsch speakers so far Pioneer elite has been my favorite. Denon sounded great and neutral but maybe a little to neutral I preferred a little warmth with pans etc. Onkyo was dead center middle of the line and I would have kept my 809 except it had a random problem. Marantz Im sorry for any Marantz users on here but I am just not a fan. I they seem to be the first ones to roll into distortion at high volumes but I do think they sound great at normal listening levels. HK. I do really love HK but havent listened to their newer receivers its been a while since I have auditioned one but they are next on my list to try out if I dont go straight anthem pre amp. Plus Youthman has some very positive remarks on his. Pioneer Elite just sounds the best paired with Klipsch IMO. Not to warm still a little neutral and they just sing together. If you decide for the budget youre in to do some pre/pro amp set up a lot of ppl on here love emotiva and I have heard numerous great things about B&K paired with Klipsch. Good luck on the quest
  8. You will be simply astounded when you get that Ultra 13. Completely insane low deep and accurate bass. Let us know that your mind is blown once you have properly set it up and enjoy.
  9. I think that the idea of the wireless sub is great depending on your situation and your listening requirements. I think that if you are serious about home theater and have put a lot of time and energy into building a nice system and want that power the subs create you would want a nice powered sub connected via some nice sub cables. I also think that for say a family room bedroom etc the wireless subs that come with the Klipsch sound bars etc. are really a nice treat. Im considering a setup with the wireless subs for my master bedroom and would be able to hide the sub behind a dresser. But as far as my theater room. I wouldnt use a wireless sub. Some dont have an option of hiding wires well though so it makes sense to some, but doesnt to others. I for see a wireless sub in my future
  10. I agree with a few of the members here. From my experience with ported and sealed and passive subs has been that I like the passive and sealed subs for music tonally but for impact and powerful low extension the ported subs cant be beat especially front ported speakers. I currently use 4 KW-120s and the Slot port IMO has even a more dramatic effect than the traditional port. The slots in my KL-650s even seem to have more impact than my old 83 rear ported towers. Just my 2 cents the Ultra 13 with front ports would tip the scale easily.
  11. Hello all, Looking for 2 Klipsch KS-525s I recently ordered 4 Klipsch THX KS-525s brand new but I had to return 2 of them as the seller stated they were new in box but in fact were used (which I wouldnt have minded if I knew before hand) but were quite damaged and return 2 of them. I am currently looking throughout the forum to see if anyone has any for sale that are in excellent to new looking and working condition before I search the mighty eBay for the next few weeks. Please call me @ 803 412 6428 or send me a PM. Thanks
  12. The 62 and 82s are both wonderful speakers and sensitive so with a receiver or amp you will get nice sound out of them in that room without too much power. If money is an issue the 62s will work just fine but if you can swing it id grab the 82s. I have never heard the synergy speakers before but I know the reference line well and they are absolutely astounding and the dynamics are sure to break a big barrier from synergy line. I did have a synergy 12 sub that had a down firing driver but I cant remember which one. Good luck on your quest its a fun road ahead.
  13. If anyone of you guys in the next month or so happens to come across an Anthem A2 amp for sale let me know. I know it has nothing to do with this thread but I figured we all look out for each other on hear. I see one on Audiogon but they are asking 1300 for it. Id rather stick closer to 1k. Thanks Klipsch family.
  14. I thought Id chime in on this. I too have seen many of your photos online when I have searched for things. I personally really enjoy looking at your photos and I think they are very well taken. (have even gone back and looked at them a few times the RSW-15 with the crimson red theater walls looks awesome.) I have found many of my photos from collectible movie pieces online that I used to own before I sold everything. I plan to start doing some photographing/close ups myself of my audio equipment. I too find it to be fun but dont have the skills yet that you have or the equipment. My good friend that is doing the photography at our upcoming wedding is coming to do a gallery of photos of the room that I plan to post after I have them. Youth keep up the awesome work many of us enjoy it. Love the way the HK looks in that cabinet too bad it cant be seen outside the cabinet as it is really a pretty receiver.
  15. Thank the speaker gods wuzzzer. []
  16. Thanks man. Yeah until more ppl try adding the subs its hard to judge. It provides exactly what you say. I have mine only at about 50-60% gain on the Sub Amps and I think they are at near -2% db set from room corrections on the Elite. When you want to seriously feel some seismic pressure it is there and easy to get that with little volume.
