  1. I'm excited to see your pics! Sounds like a great setup!
  2. They had it well placed in a corner probably a foot out from each wall, I thought it sounded great. I'm so jaded toward theater in a box, but this had me shaking my head, it's great for what it is! I don't know about music, but for movies at least, I think if someone wants great sound and maybe space or the mrs does not allow, they will enjoy this.
  3. I stopped by my local Klipsch dealer today and he had set up the SB 3 (soundbar) system. He turned on the beginning of Despicable Me and I was blown away (in context)! It's not reference, but the amount of clean, distortion free, sound coming out of a bar with four 3.5" drivers that plugs into the wall was remarkable! A wireless 10" sub and the package was very complete! I could recommend this to anyone looking for an "out of the box" setup without reservation! If you get a chance to preview one, ask the dealer to put it through its paces, it's impressive! Granted I have such low expectations for Theaters in a box, but IMHO, this is a definite gear shift for the mass market industry!
  4. THAT is cool! Thanks for sharing! []
  5. Congrats! I'm sure that space is FILLED with sound! []
  6. Thanks Bob, I appreciate the feedback.
  7. I'll coattail on this post, Hammer your room will be amazing when it's done - having all that concrete on at least a couple of sides will allow some guilt free volume! Very nice! The question I have is we are going to put an addition on this summer and I will be building a room in the basement as well. The dimensions will be 23' x 24' (minus wall build, etc.), so in the interest of complete overkill which is something some of us share when it comes to this topic, has anyone split their signal and run multiple side channels and rear channels with any success? For example, I currently have 5.1 and will hopefully immediately go to 7.2 while wiring for 9.2, I have two RS-62ii's and was thinking of adding an additional pair along the side wall and maybe doing a pair (or four (?)) of RB-81's along the back wall. Any feedback on that? I know the system will fill the room as is no problem, but adding another amp and more surrounds might really deepen things further, or would it amount to overkill and not be that much bang for the buck. Hammer, with apologies it is not my intent to hijack your post. []
  8. Panasonic 65 VT50 (plasma) Wonderful picture, I have no complaints.
  9. +1 = I really enjoy this show! I had low expectations for recording quality, but I liked some of their classics, took the chance and this show turned out to be a great pick up! [] A change of pace but it's a great recording is Chris Botti Live in Boston. It's like being at the show. Instant date night! The Rock and Roll HOF 25th anniversary is sure to have something you'll love! Crazy show! Who'd have thought so many 65+ year olds could still rock like that?! BB King - wow!
  10. I was just going to say the Palladium P-39's would look delightful in that room, but maybe she's not quite that worn down! []
  11. Youth, I think you're right, overkill champion to date, although I'd love to see someone top it! That's an impressive stack!
  12. I watched Battleship tonight and while it could be one of the worst story lines of a movie in some time(the intentional(?) cheese of incorporating the game with the game piece explosives and the game style grid of buoys), the sound was incredible! I almost want to buy it for a demo disc to show what the rf7ii's and the 115 can do! My wife noticed I was beaming afterwards! That. Was. Fun.

    New Room

Great tip CECAA! Thank you! Great setup wstanger! Projectors are tough to beat for movies! I'm sure you are immersed in that room!
  14. Great stuff - thanks to you both. The search continues - I really like the look of that black/orange metal plaque. I'll have to continue to look, I really appreciate the info!
  15. Can someone point me in the right direction for the klipsch plaques both for the theater wall and I hear rumor of customizable plaques for speakers (?). Is this the stuff of lore or do these items exist? I would love to have a metal burnt orange and black Klipsch plaque on the wall, but I may not be ready sensei. Thank you all in advance!
  16. Shrader - Great set up! That's a lot of hard work that's definitely paid off and you will enjoy a TON of hours down there! Wonderful room!
  17. I got the 65 VT50 this month and so far I am very happy with it. I agree with the point about background light - mines in the basement so it's not an issue. I went this direction after reading a lot of reviews. The blacks are wonderful and the picture "tweak ability" is amazing. I may seek out calibration down the line, but the settings offered out of the box are great! Football is a blast, movies are amazing! I don't think you'll be disappointed if you go for the gt50 either. Good luck!
