  1. I am getting real close to pulling the trigger on a LCR upgrade. Currently I have a pair of RF-7II's and a RC-64 that I would need to sell. The RC-64II is 13 months old and the RF-7II's are 8 months old...Both are purchased from an authorized Klipsch dealer. Due to the size of the speakers, it would be hard to ship the 7's.. I am in Knoxville TN and could meet within a three hour radius if needed. Looking to sell the RF-7II's for 1800 and the RC-64 for $700....Packaged deal for $2300.00.
  2. I have the RS-52II's and use the same thing to mount those.... Probably switching over to the 62's as soon as I can sell the 52's and plan on mounting them the same way..
  3. I have just completed my new room and decided to revisit the idea of going with three of these speakers for my front three....only if I can get a deal on some used or an AWESOME deal new in the box. Currently using RF-7II and a RC-64II for my front three but think these might work better in the space I have... Ideally, I would like to hear them first. Unfortunately that has proved to be impossible in East Tennessee.. Anyways, if anybody has some or knows of anybody looking to sell them please let me know. Thanks..
  4. Nice comparison. I have been thinking about doing the same thing. Recently I added a pair of RB-61's to use as Surround Backs(The cost was the same as the RB-51's, so I thought why not.) and thought these would be nice to have as well... Just need to see how easily they can adapt to the current position of the RS-52's
  5. Where the Catalyst speakers as bright as your RF-7 IIs? I've read that some people said that the Catalysts are not "bright enough" and a little too laid back. Any comments/opinions will be appreciated. Secondly, how do you like your TGA-7401? I am planning on adding it to my home theater. Did you compare it to any other amps? I wouldn't use the word "laid back" to describe these speakers... They were in my face and seemed bright enough for me. My room isn't ideal, so I probably don't know how good my speakers can sound. That will be changing in the next couple months with a pending move... Love my Sunfire TGA-7401.. Had an Emotiva XPA-3 before this and several years before that used some outlaw products. It was the best choice for my needs as well since I needed 7 channels in one unit. I know better options are out there. In fact, I like the build of the Emotivas and if I would have stuck with them if I had the space. Especially since they released the XPR-5. That paired with a XPA-2 would have been perfect for me, just didn't have rack space and power.
  6. -5db......:-D Can't wait for those days to come when I can crank my system that low without vibrating everything in my living room... How was the video on your new screen?
  7. A couple people I have been talking with have it and they rave about it. I am adding a Lumagen in a few weeks when I move into my new house but also thought about pairing this with it. Let me know if it makes the picture "unnatural". The guy who does all my video calibrations doesn't really like it because of that...but he did say it was subjective and he is more picky than most people.
  8. I heard three of the Catalyst 12cs and four of the Sparks in this line this past Thursday. He also has four of the submersive subs.... His room had some incredible treatments, which helped quite a bit. The sound was better than I can describe... Truly felt like I was in a small commercial theater, but only better. I have these on my future upgrade list, but they are quite the speaker..
  9. I never had the 63's, but I did have the 82s. The jump, for me, from the 82's up to the 7's made quite the impact in my setup. I already had the RC-64II, so my front soundstage opened up. Plus I am driving everything with a 400 watt amp. The build of the 7's is also quite impressive. Your idea of going with three towers for the LCR is a good one. Depending on how I setup my new room, that is route I will most likely go with... Good luck!
  10. OH MY....That sounds like an impressive setup. I would consider a good pre-amp and amp combo... What is your budget?
  11. I was hoping to find some THX ULTRA2 owners in the southern part of the United States 100-200 miles away from Knoxville. Been looking for a demo of these speakers and would gladly travel if somebody would be willing to offer one up. Thanks in advance..
  12. I am going to have a dedicated room, but not sure how the room is going to be laid out yet. The idea right now is to have an AT screen, but most likely it will be a drop down in front of the speakers. Eventually I would like a fixed screen on a false wall, but just don't know if it will happen initially. My RF-7II/RC-64II setup is up for sale.....but by all means, I won't be giving the things away. I have been leaning towards keeping them and see how the sound in a bigger room..possibly playing around with a third RF-7 and go from there. Then I can put some money towards the screen, a second sub and another set of rear speakers. I have been talking to a fellow forum member who has quite a bit of experience with Klipsch and is a dealer. He suggested I keep what I have but did say he really thought the THX setup would be the best choice for 100% movie watching. If I wanted to pursue going the route of the THX speakers after hearing how my current system sounds in a new room, he would sit down with me and talk about it. It is an expensive system and I would want to have all the speakers be from the same line, except for the subs. Not sure I would pay that kind of money for the subs..but who knows.
  13. I hope this topic hasn't been brought up in a previous thread and if it has, I apologize... Right now I have RF-7II's and a RC-64II for my LCR in our living room setup. I am getting ready to move into a new home, dedicated room, etc.... The idea of having three identical speakers for the LCR has been going through my mind for awhile. I had an opportunity to hear a setup done this way(not Klipsch)and it really added something to the movie experience. I started doing some research and found a pretty amazing deal on some KL-650's, brand new in the box from an authorized dealer. This has me going back and forth on what to do. Contacted Klipsch directly and they were great. The guy I spoke with told me he loved the setup I have and said the difference would be minimal between the two, but favored the three 650's(VERY slightly) for 100% movie watching. Placement flexibility of the 650's is what has me thinking hard about making the switch. Eventually, I would like to have the speakers behind the screen. Since the RF-7II's are rear ported, I would have to pull them away from the wall some. The 650's could be mounted on the wall if I wanted or at least placed right up against it. It would be great if somebody on here has done a comparison between the two setups and can chime in some.. Thank you in advance.
  14. Looks amazing! Hopefully your RS-45 will shine on that screen!
  15. I would love to know what equipment he is using in that room...
  16. My 7's are finally hooked up and so far I am highly impressed. Still need to dial them in some and then I will get some pictures posted on here. Guess I need to change my signature to reflect my changes. :-D
  17. The 52's were definitely worth the upgrade. I finally was able to get everything up and running last night, including the RF-7II's. So far I am highly impressed with what I heard. Now I just need to dial everything in and watch a whole movie.
  18. Just wanted to give an update. Ended up going with the 52's.. They are pretty big and barely fit where I needed them to go. No way the 62's would have worked in my current setup. They were easy to flush mount too, even though I was shocked that they only needed one screw to stay up. Haven't hooked everything else back up yet, so I can't comment on how they sound yet..
  19. The price difference isn't as big as I thought it would be between the 62's and 52's....but the size of them is what will make or break the deal...
  20. Looks like the 52's are the preferred choice on here. I would love to get the 62's so I am prepared for my next house, but those might not get approved by my wife..lol Now I need to figure out if the speakers will mount properly after I patch the wall from the in-walls..
  21. Just purchased a pair of RF-7II's(replaced my RF-82II's) to go with my RC-64II. Before I had Klipsch, I had an Axiom setup and still have their in-walls as my rear speakers. Decided I would look into upgrading those and I am trying to decide what to do. I have attached a picture of the smaller wall for a reference point since it is a tricky location. My options are as follows: 1. I could simply go with the R-5502-W series II. It is also an in-wall speaker and the dimensions are practically identical, which means I would assume it would be easy to switch out. 2. Option two would be to patch the wall, paint it and then go with either the the RS-62II, RS-52II or RS-42II surround speaker. I am not sure the RS-62II would be too big or not. That wall is only 19" wide, so it might be too close on the wall on the left... The 52's or 42's would probably fit better, but would the smaller drivers hurt the overall performance? Those existing speakers are dual 5.25 and a 1" tweeter, but they don't put out much power. My initial thought on this is that even the 42's might perform better because they are designed for side use, even if they have smaller drivers.. Any thoughts or input on this?
  22. Who is it? I am offering a heck of a deal on mine as they are only 4 months old..
  23. I am looking forward to joining the RF-7II club... Just need to sell off my 4 month old RF-82II's...
