  1. TBrennan where can a guy find this JBL tent sale you mentioned ?
  2. Yea it was just Geocities and there lovely overload.
  3. Just take them back they will exchange them no Questions asked for 30 day's to any customer.
  4. marcmac I thought the same as you when I first set my system up and went with a KSC-C1 and found it way over powered my Quintet satilites. I ended up ditching the Quintets and buying SF-2 fronts and SS-1 rears and the difference is astounding exspecially in Music. I was able to make the KSC-C1 a pretty good match with the Quintets for movies by lowering its output -6db and upping the Quintets +2db. This worked great for movies but was lacking big time in music. I would recomend you buy the best center you can if movies is your only concern. But don't even waste your time with music with any Quintet combo.
  5. Thanks but the link is dead. Did you get it right ??
  6. I had Quintets and found just like others have said. They are fine in a small room for HT but they just don't cut it for music. I upgraded to SF-2 fronts and SS-1 rears. I already had a SC-1 center and KSW-15 sub . I bought from online vendors and ended up with 1200.00 in the setup and I'm happy as hell in my 12' X 12' room. 7. Are there any online dealers that a guy can purchase Cartridges and Needles ??
  8. Audioholic Well first off no I have never setup a turn table. But I like challenges. So that doesn't frighten me. This is the Info he has emailed me about the Scott turn table. By the way what do you think of the Scott Turn Tables ? Oh and his feedback is A+ and allot of them were turn tables First Email quote: HEllo the needle is a new one, along with the cartridge it was a NOS stock that I bought a while back from ebay and since i had it, I just placed it on that turntable... I believe it is a realistic.... it sounded great also there are a few scratches on the dust cover the rest of the phono is in beautiful shape I Am sure you wont be disappointed I never attempt to sell junk in ebay after all it is nice to have a decent turntable instead of some of the trash that is sold on Ebay so i understand your questions Feel free to ask any other questions and by the way when I pack these I take off the turntable itself and the headstock and wrap them seperately to avoid damage to the phono during shipping Take care JOhnny Second Email quote: HEllo I try to keep my customers happy and really have worked hard for all those great remarks I have in ebay and even harder to prevent any negative feedback I am fussy about music and am a musician and that turntable passes my test I dont know if you know of SCOTT very well but I really do believe that they put out some really nice units at the time they did Take care and have a great NEW YEAR also good luck on your Bidding JOhnny
  9. I've been chatting with the guy with the 4th one on my list above and he has pictures and it looks like a great Turn Table. He also say's it has a brand new Needle and Cartridge and play perfect. He's a Musician and has great feedback on Ebay. I think I'm going to try and get that one. 11. Okay here goes. Actual width 8" Height 34" without feet Depth 12" without grills (this is the cabinet) if you take the rear connectors for speaker wires and the slight amount the speakers stick out of the cabinet it would be 12 1/4. the Port depth is 11 1/4 the Dia. 3" and tapers out to 4 1/4. This is in the last 1" or so. this was done with a tape measure and I am a carpenter so I do pretty good with a tape. But no garrantee's
  12. What's your question . I have a set of SF-2s

    Poll Question

I bought it last week. Its nothing short of amazing. No real problems with the play back that I don't get with most disks. I get a small pause now and than just for a split second. Its like it looses the audio/Video feed. You can see the receiver reaquire the signal. My DVD drive is a sony DVP-NS700P which has Progressive scan. But I'm not using it haven't upgraded my TV yet . But like I said this happens with most discs and its not a big deal.
  14. I bought my KSW-15 from Acoustic Sound Design and it arrived as discribed and the Purchase was A Okay. When I went to buy my SF-2s and SS-1s surrounds. I Emailed Mike and he wouldn't budge on the price. So I ended up getting a hold of American Home Theater thru a item they had on fleebay. They gave me what I thought was a great deal and I had the speakers in 3 working day's. I paid 698.00 shipped to my door. I believe that's about $100 less than Acoustic wanted.
  15. Why not just stick with Synergy line. I have Sf-2 mains, SS-1 rears and SC-1 center with KSW-15 Sub. I think there awesome for the money . by the way what receiver are you using to power your system ?
  16. Boa12 thanks for the link it was helpfull. Today I played around and set the SF-2 to 50hz, SS-1 and SC-1 to 70 hz and put the LFE high cut at 200 as you suggested. It really sounds great right there I can't hear anything that tells me the subs position at all .(although its really thumping the floor) Trying this with the Quintets just seemed to produce distortion. I'm pleasantly suprised with how my system produces bass that really hits hard now. sure am glad I bought the SF-2 and SS-1s way better than the Quintets at music and to some extent movies.
  17. Okay received my SF-2s and SS-1s monday and man what a difference exspecially in music. But anyway's I need some help from the experts around here. I want all I can get out of these . So I now have the crossover on the SF-2 , SS-1 and SC-1 all at 100hz and the LFE high cut at 120hz. It sounds incredible compared to the Quintets but I'm sure there's more there. Now the specs say the SF-2 go down to 35 hz, SS-1s and SC-1 go down to 60 hz. Should I set there crossover just above that or at that ?? The KSW-15 specs say that they go 24hz to 90hz. Boa12 suggested I set the LFE High Cut all they way up which is 200hz. Is that the case ?? I'm very new to tuning a HT setup so please help me out. I want to blow my friends away when they come over. A few of those guy's are Bose lovers LOL !!!
  18. How are you shutting off the Pro 5.1s. If your shutting off the power by like a power strip then thats your problem they have no way to remember what volume you had them at without power. If you use the button on the side of the control pod to turn them off and plug them into a constant power source you should be alright.
  19. I solved it the way I like to solve things although my wife's not to happy about it . I ordered SF-2s and SS-1 rears. I can hardly wait .
  20. The LFE cutoff setting goes up to 200. Thanks for your help as soon as my speaks come I'll try all this out.
  21. boa12 yes the crossover is adjustable seperately for the center , front and surround. Wouldn't this setting be different for all the speakers ?? I would think that the SF-2s would be able the handle more bass than the SS-1s and SC-1 center wouldn't it ?? There is also a setting for the LFE high cut. What would you think that should be at ? The factory settings for all of these is at 120. I tried changing and it didn't seems to help with the quintets. Don't they cut out at 120 ??
  22. Okay I took the dive and ordered SF-2's and SS-1's to replace my Quintet fronts and rears. I just couldn't handle the Music side and over powered center with the Quintets. I have a KSW-15 sub and Sc-1 center. Powered by a Sony STR DE-975 receiver. My question's are... What should I set the speaker size to for all of them ? also what should I set the crossover to for all of these ? Should I leave the Sub with LFE hookup or something different ? I'm looking for a starting point when these show up next week ? Thanks Craig This message has been edited by NOS440 on 12-11-2001 at 09:22 AM
  23. I have Quintet Sats and a SC-1 center with a KSW-15 sub and let me tell ya it rocks. I wish I had a Quintet center though its hard to even things out with the SC-1 center its a little over powering compared to the Quintets.
  24. I dropped the center by 6db and that seems to do the trick. I'm really itching to take the dive and buy a set of SF-2 fronts and SS-1 rears. I'm afraid my wife would move out though . With SF-2 fronts with my KSW-15 sub I bet the 2 channel music would rock. Am i right ?
  25. DTS music is nothing short of amazing. If you like the Eagles and maybe even if you don't go out a grab the "Hell Freezes Over" DVD and you will see what I mean.
